Ubisoft has been hard at work on Assassin’s Creed III. They’re not holding back on promoting it early either. Some fans are skeptical. Here are ten reasons not to be:
1. Familiar flavor, all- new experience. Assassin’s Creed III will be similar to Assassin’s Creed II because it will be a large, epic game with a gripping narrative and an interesting main character whose full name is hard to pronounce (at least the first name is easy this time). That’s where the similarities will end though. The setting is different, Colonial America instead of Renaissance Italy. The gameplay is different, mechanics will be added to things like snow and ice that will have an effect on you and your enemies. The weapons are different, check this out.
2. Connor Ratohnhaké:ton is a badass. Altaïr ibn La’Ahad and Ezio Auditore da Firenze were cool guys in their own rights. Ezio kills a pope in Assassin’s Creed II for crying out loud. But Ubisoft is making a big deal about Connor so far. He’s going to be a man who’s unafraid of confrontations and willing to do what it takes to accomplish large tasks in accordance with his beliefs. He’s also half-Mohawk, a real historic native American tribe known for their badassery.
3.The game’s plot will try to achieve earnest historical fiction. There will be some fiction in the plot, which developers say will be done in plain sight. But overall, the game will try include lot of accurate history.
4. There will be weather and seasons in the game. Rain, fog, and snow will all be included in Assassin’s Creed III. The snow will slow down you and your enemies. Each region will have a summer and winter version. It won’t just be nice-looking texture swaps though, winter is going to matter and will effect gameplay.
5. Trees. Buildings are still going to be a part of Assassin’s Creed III with old-fashioned versions of New York and Boston as two of the main cities. But trees are going to be the new buildings, according to developers. In fact, they can’t stop talking about them. Connor will be able to climb, swing, and stand on trees as he navigates his way through large forests.
6. The cities will feel much different from other Assassin’s Creed games. No more stone structures with flat rooftops and tight paths. Think vintage America. Wood buildings with sloped rooftops lining wide roads.
7. There is going to be multiplayer. Not much has been said yet about what this will be. But it will be included, and more will be revealed about it at E3 in June. The word being used to describe it for now is “evolution,” referring to the multiplayer in the previous game Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
8. Animals. Wildlife will be in the game, and finding it will be a rewarding experience. You can go hunting for animals such as bears, deer, various types of birds, and more. However, shooting them with a gun will not be the best way to kill them. Assassinating wildlife will be the way to go.
9. It’s going to be a huge game. Assassin’s Creed III will have been in production for 2 1/2 years once it’s released. It’s going to be the largest game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, which are all big. The big new setting in the game is the frontier, where only 30% of the game’s missions will take place. Creators are saying it has “twice the production capacity of the Ezio trilogy.”
10. Desmond is back. The game’s modern-era hero will have a bigger role than ever before. Connor will be another of his ancestors, which means the franchise’s big story arc for the series will continue with Assassin’s Creed III.
