One of the benefits of Xenforo as our Forum software platform is that it is still evolving being a relatively young package. The Developers of Xenforo are continually gaining feedback from it's community and implementing new feature.
One of the exciting new features available to our Community thanks to Xenforo 1.5 being released is the ability to establish 2 step authentication for their accounts. This can be done in two ways, the first is through the use of an authentication app such as Authy, available for both iPhones and Android devices, the Google Authenticator for Android and for those of you using Windows Phones you can use the app named Authenticator+. Alternatively you can have Stratics send you an E-mail with a code each time you wish to login which you would enter in order to complete the login process.
This is much less desirable and rather self explanatory.
For people choosing to use an Authentication App, the process of setting up your Stratics Account is quite simple.
You'll start by selecting Two-Step Verification from your Profile Menu either from the avatar drop down or from your profile page. You should see a page that looks similar to this:
Pick Enable from either of these, if you are using an App you'll get a screen that looks like this:
Follow the directions for your app to link it to your Stratics Account, using the provided information and then enter the key you receive into the Verification Code block and confirm. If everything was successful you will be taken to a new screen that allows you to manage your 2 Factor Authentication.
At the Bottom of this Screen you can find a way to access and manage your Backup Codes, these codes allow you to Login without the Authenticator, it is recommended that you copy them down and if one is used, that you regenerate the codes.
Making use of the Two Factor Authentication system built into Xenforo is a great way to insure that your account remains safe, and secure.
