In case you missed it, PC Gamer has released their games of the year and on Page 4 you can find the write-up for LOTRO as the MMO of the year.  Not only do they celebrate the game itself and the content as well as the free to play transition, but they also give credit to the community surrounding LOTRO for the success of the game.

I’m not sure you can say that Turbine put out necessarily the most or even the best content of the year, but I think when you add up what they did with the game material, the pricing structure, and toss in a great community you come to the conclusion PC Gamer came to.

And I certainly echo the last line of the article, “the rate Turbine is going, we’ll be enjoying the journey for years to come.”
