In the second of our highly anticipated Developer Diaries Ken “Graalx2” Burd walks through the changes for the Burglar class.  I’m going to do a VERY high level summary here as honestly I don’t know much about Burglars, so check out the post and the feedback thread for more of the details.

Ken starts off by outlining some of the issues with the current class:

  • Burglars can’t enter Mischief stance while in combat
    • Instead of allowing this since it breaks the idea of the class they’ve added two new stances
    • All share the same cooldown and can’t be switched in combat, but can be used in stealth
    • Quick Knife:
      • bonus to melee damage
      • positional damage bonus that improves with bonuses in the Quiet Knife trait line
      • -10% perceived threat
    • Gambler
      • increases healing and damage of Gambles
      • Decreases mob resistance to Gambles
      • All above are increased by slotting deeper in the Gambler trait line
      • Also includes a +5% evade buff
  • Attempting to allow bleeds to take on the damage type of the weapon that applies them (still working on this one)
    • so if you’re using a Beleriand weapon, it will apply a Beleriand bleed
    • This will apply to ALL weapon based DoTs which is very cool!
  • Fellowship maneuvers haven’t scaled with monster health
    • Not only did they boost the damage, they changed some of the effects applied
    • Mainly boosted the more difficult ones like straights and decreased easy ones like flushes
    • HoTs from FMs will no longer break stealth
  • More speed in stealth
    • Added as a bonus for traiting deep in Quiet Knife of Gambler lines
    • added +3 stealth detection while in stealth – mainly for PvP
  • Knives out sharing a cooldown with Touch and Go
    • It now has its own, and is buffed to absorb 80% of incoming melee damage and return 20% of that damage to the attacker
    • retains the 0 parry and evade
    • duration now 10 seconds
  • General Legacy issues
    • Changed individual line Devastate Buff Durations to a generic Devastate Buff Duration
    • Mischief Devastate Buff Duration will convert to a new legacy – Aim Cooldown
    • Quiet Knife Devastate Buff Duration will convert to new legacy – Subtle Stab Damage Multiplier
  • Need more In-combat power regen (who doesn’t?)
    • sorry, but get used to it – this is your throttle 🙂
  • 2 additional minor tweaks
    • New skill Safe Fall which allows for immunity to falling injuries for a short period
    • Increased the range of Quite a Snag to 10 meters

I don’t understand all of it, but I love the tweaks to bleeds and I’m SO excited they’re revamping fellowship maneuvers!!
