Fun Quotes by Dickens. (Are there any?)

Blog entry posted by AirmidCecht, Jul 3, 2012.

IT WAS the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it
was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of
incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the
spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we
had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going
direct the other way- in short, the period was so far like the present period,
that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or
for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.
- Charles Dickens

What could be said then, could be said now and every day in between (especially now in gaming!)
Or he could have simply said, "Winter is coming."

My characters are an extension of me. The fun, compassionate, dark side of me.

actually, it's 'son of York' His father was the Duke of York. :)

Airmid's comes from A tale of Two Cities, and refers to the turmoil in France at the time of the French Revolution.
I don't think Dickens had much of a sense of humour to be honest.
  2. Taylor
  3. Amber Witch
I don't know if this counts or not.

Shakespeare's "Richard III" begins, "Now is the winter of our discontent / Made glorious summer by this sun of York." In modern syntax, Shakespeare was describing the end of a period of discontent. When it comes to gaming, I sometimes wonder if we're in the winter of our discontent--or the spring of it.
