Several things have me very angry right now. The item was for sale for 150mil. A trade of 150mil must me made in 2 parts. Random item for sale in the amount of 50mil, and the item for trade @ 100mil. This is done because a vendor item max price was set a very long time ago @ 100mil, in a time when no one in their right mind would have something for sale for any higher. Well times have changed, so we have to do the 2 parter. Well today I was witness to the lowest form of B.S. I have ever seen. The buyer and I stood before my vendor, I sold the 50mil item. Then placed the true item for trade for 100mil. And before the buyer could buy the true item, some low life garbage stealther bought the item for the 100mil. Thus, Screwing the buying out major, and making me look like a major tool. I'm not sure who to hate more. Uo for not fixing a broken problem that has been an issue for a good long while now, or the stealther for being a low life piece of trash that feeds on who ever he can. I feel also at fault, but I have no idea how else a trade can be made at prices of 100mil plus. Idk. And a thousand times, I am sorry sir.
Should have done the 100 mil part in a trade window. Can hold up to 125 items in your pack. Yes vendors are easier, but less secure.
You 100% right too, I should have, and the thought never once crossed my head. In all my years of UO I had thought I've seen it all.
Feel free to ping me when you have a big trade. I can usually help out. Also if the buyer was willing. you could have just pulled all the gold to the vendor then handed him the item.
Brokers are very awesome, but there is always the scary first time. I would also hate to ask for all the cash up front. Unless the buyer has done deals with me in the past, how is he to know I'm not just another scamming Atlantic Dbag. I want all buyers to feel 100% secure, with as little risk as possible.
really best way to handle this is eat the 50mil and give it back to original buyer, but with the way people are acting these days, who is to say the buyer wasn't the scammer also playing you in hopes you would do above mentioned good deed. who the hell can you trust anymore? Lothar you shoulda just gave it to me like I said when talked this morning then there would be troubles.
After she handed out the legs to the people that didn't want to or couldn't wait around longer the line actually became very organlized and it went really smooth... unfortunately it took about 3.5 hours to get to that point. To the op: I always give the buyer a choice for the last 100m of either the item on the vendor (at their own risk) or another dummy item on the vendor and then the item traded.
Lothar, you should have just put two items (bandages), one for 50mil and another for 100mil. Once those were bought then simply trade your customer the item.
oh and dont talk on general chat telling the whole game what u r doing??? the chance of someone just passing by and buying the said item are kinda very remote indeed if they had no knowledge what was occring....and i mean very very less than 1% chance....
Hrmm... It sounds somewhat fishy to me. How well did you know the buyer Lothar? Someone else already mentioned, it could have been an attempt to acquire said rare, and make you feel bad enough to return the gold.
