Better to do the 14 day? Or buy the box? Benefits and cons of each? What next? Race? Skills? What about Gallente... would that race be stuck using just their ships only? Still trying to figure some things out.
Trying Gallente on Trial. Seems the races don't really matter anyway. Skill training is simple so far. Just train them up and does it by itself. Doing the Career path training. The market is like the stock exchange! Are the devs day traders or something, lol! Quite a sophisticated buy/sell system! I've read the guides and stuff and trying to learn the steep learning curve. Anyone have any input? Suggestions?
Start with doing missions while you are training the basic skills. Ideally you should aim for Electronics and Engineering at lvl5, and also Weapons Upgrades at lvl5. Choose which main weaponary you want to use as well and start specing in that. It also helps to have Social lvl5 and Connections at 3. Makes getting to the higher payout missions quicker. After that, specialised where you will. Stay missioing in hi sec, mission in low sec, pirate, mine.... whatever
I'm just getting started myself, but my advice would be to stay focused. If you want to fight, focus on one or a few weapon systems. If you want to get good at mining, don't get distracted fighting or training up fighting skills. Use your initial faster paced training time well! Good Luck!
*shrugs* It depends on what you want to do. PvP, PvE, Miner, tones of options. Gallente is drones and guns so some PvP utility there. If you want to go all out PvE then Caldari are ok being as they're missile centric. Minmatar would be the iffy one to train they're kind of into everything and Amarr is into lasers and Armor tanking. Maybe try a bit of each and see what works best for you? There is no "right" race in EvE it's just some do a certain thing better than others because of their ship setups. I will say this though, PvP = Guns. PvE = Missiles. I like to say "Missiles for show, guns for a pro".
