There's a small cog wheel on the top left of the chat window. When you click on that it gives you options.
There are SO many settings it will take a while to find them all LOL. Earlier tonight I hit Ctrl/shift/F or Ctrl/Shift or SOMETHING in the left hand area of my keyboard and a box popped up that would have listed all my friends if I had any, my guildmates, and another tab which I missed because I tried to see what macro that was before reading it all. I couldn't get it to come back up. I'm sure it's something one could "look up" but it's quite fun to discover these things accidentally.
