Mad Tinker's Shop Found these house pics while going through some old files ... figured I would toss em up here ... one of my favorite houses i have ever built. Was a fun build, illusion house, front yard is on 2nd floor making room for the basement workshop. Will try to dig up my other pics I thought I had somewhere ... was a barroom on the third floor, to dish out generous portions of the famed Blackrock Brews! The Mad Tinker's Shop Overview Outside Machine 1, 1st Floor Entryway Machine 2, Basement Blackrock Brewery
This is an outside view of one of my houses. It would be hard to explain everything that I like about this house, but I’ll point a few out. I designed the steps to seem more like a hill rather than steps (In the CC you seem to bounce up and down as if you were climbing over bolders or irregular steps). I also tried to copy my first small house that I had in game at the top of the hill (a 7x7 wood & plaster). http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo305/Ni-bucket/HouseonaHillNightFull.jpg This pic is level 3. Not much new. Just the inside of the small house on the hill and an underground spider lair (the spider webs show through the ceiling so that I get double the deco from them). http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo305/Ni-bucket/HouseonaHillNightFull3.jpg The second level is a run down living quarters that takes advantage of the Heritage items that I had wanted. There is also a room with an alchemist that appears to have had a rather ill blackrock accident/explosion (I placed the skeleton and body parts in a way to make it look like the meat still held to some of the body’s appendages with the core flesh having been completely obliterated). http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo305/Ni-bucket/HouseonaHillNightFull2.jpg The bottom level seems to be rather... morbid... and quite fun to build/deco. This little torture chamber comes complete with an iron maiden, a guillotine (that appears to have been used), a stretching table, multiple jail cells, and a demon summoning room (protectively runed off, though one unlucky soul seemed to have not stayed completely outside of the runes), and a burial/coffin room. http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo305/Ni-bucket/HouseonaHillNightFull1.jpg I chose to take night pics to add to the ambiance and to display certain lighting effects. Enjoy!
Here's some of the houses I've built. I've never really finished decorating any of them though. May post more later if i can find pics. Christmas: Never finished Inside: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x165/MmmChoc0late/Mary2.png Done on UOhomebuilder for UOSA beta contest Inside: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x165/MmmChoc0late/1stfloorabyss.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x165/MmmChoc0late/2ndfloorabyss.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x165/MmmChoc0late/3rdfloorabyss.jpg This is the closest I've ever gotten to finishing a house in game. A house that never made it to finalization. Inside: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x165/MmmChoc0late/Orangehouse1stfloor.jpg
Here's a follow-up to the house with a cave I posted earlier in the thread. It must have gone through more than a dozen different iterations before ending up as it is now, though I neglected to document most of the process. But I think this final design is the best among them, so I hope you all enjoy looking at it. To start, an overview of the outside in the enhanced client. The third floor, entered via ladder from the wooden door on the roof. Featuring a small foyer, dining room, bedroom, bathroom, large kitchen, and a still-unfinished elemental summoning chamber. (As an aside, the dark period seems way too short in UO. It took me two in-game night cycles to get all the shots for these collages.) Second floor. Library, office, unfinished lab space. The sludgefall's source is a specimen tank, the design of which I saw somewhere on these boards - sorry I don't recall its creator. There's some sort of tentacled eldritch horror taking up residence in the northeast corner. First floor - the caves below. There's a house teleporter hidden beneath one of the arches, with a black goza mat and black carpet on top of it. It stays concealed even when teleporting, and the black parts don't superimpose themselves on the arches, either, as happened when I used cut cloth instead. As with my last house, everything you see in this image is on the first floor only. (That bit of shadow at the crossroads is just something I missed while editing the picture.) Finally, a full-sized look at the exterior in the classic client. Photobucket didn't care for the dimensions of the original, so I've divided it in two. Those two off-color squares are bits of carpet that cover the teleporters that connect the the third and fourth floor. I think the door in the mountainside turned out pretty well, but that whole area looks worse the closer it draws to the front.
Fascinating house! It’s very... I guess the word might be eclectic, though I’m not usually a fan of eclectic styles... I love the bottom level! I’ve seen a design or two like that in the past, but this one is very nicely finished off with the little details: just one nicely placed spider web (some people go over board with rares in an attempt to show them off, I admittedly went over board on mine, however I was attempting to build a spider lair, kinda), a few well placed light sources that fit with the décor (thanks for waiting until night time for the screen shots!), variety of stoneage (granite, rubble, and some kind of reward stalagmite?), and other cave/digging/mining/expedition items that make sense (pickaxe, ore cart, crates/barrels, ect.). A lot of items and house tiles, but the best part is that every one seems to have a use, as opposed to just being on display. Very creative use of tiles and items!
This is my house. It is on Chesapeake just outside east Britain beside the road. It is supposed to an old ruined virtue shrine/chapel. I like ruins. A lot.
Im very proud of this design i just did on Siege Perilous. Its modeled after the Westminster Abbey in London. It is set to public but since the heaviness of pvp on siege every teleporter and door is set to friends only. Its along the southern wall of makato if anyone would like to go take a peak. Just be cautious of all the reds on our wonderfull land there.
Here is my main house built shortly after 9th anni, but hasnt changed much in ages. but took some fresh screenies. Extior: Basement: (storage mainly) 1st floor (hall) 2nd floor (crafting area) My other house is more recent, i went with making a really modest cottage on a maximum size plot, and i really like the symplicty of the design. Exterior: Inside: All screenies are taken with Enhanced client. PS: Sorry for the mess
Mr Crowley has done a lot of the houses in Zento and around the world. If I ever get my palace decorated you should take pictures of that one, it's totall different nad lovely
Mahs Crafting Lodge House I designed for my mom (smip) called Mahs Crafting Lodge The first floor Place to cook and Vendors Scriber/alchy Carpentry/Fletching Blacksmithing/Tailoring The roof with all our house tellys
DeSilva Manor Here is my house in ter mur DeSilva Manor First floor BedRoom/ living room Bar/ Entertanment Room Top floor underconstruction
My 1st time visiting this forum. Some nice houses in here! Here are my 2 last builds. Trinsic Jungle keep Moonglow Workshop / storage
My fisher on Siege wanted a fishing shack, but my crafter didn't want to give up her shop. Solution, move the shop to a bigger plot, add the fishing shack and a small garden. I liked it so much I found a nice spot by the sea and did something similar for my Europa fisherman
Wanted to post my Fishery before i re-do it onto a lighthouse due to the new tiles and the fact its places on a peninsula
Here are some screenshots of my crafter's house/shop on Siege Perilous. The vendors are all down temporarily while I reevaluate what I want to sell at the shop. This is my third or fourth redesign of this house and I'm pretty pleased with it at this point other than the way the tile roof fits and certain aspects of the walls of the main building, and of course, there's still more decorating to do. Once I get the shop going again, the large building on the west will be co-owner access only so it is a slightly safer environment for stocking vendors on the second floor balcony. The smaller, more rustic building is new-player friendly and is a good place for new players to run to for weaving cloth (can't buy it from NPCs on Siege), using the advanced training dummy, working on lockpicking (colored boxes are full of boxes made at various levels of tinkering skill), or dying stuff. When the house is public, one set of the "outside" teleporters is for friends only and the other is for co-owners only and the gates can only be opened by co-owners. (Theoretically this means characters not friended on the house can't get in unless a friended character gates them in.) The doors behind the rune books can be opened from the inside by friends so theoretically there's less chance of an unwanted guest following through a gate cast from the front runebooks. The bulletin board inside the gate can be reached from outside the gate so characters not friended to the house can leave a message on it when the house is set to public. I haven't tested the house extensively to see if it is completely safe from spell casting done from outside the house, especially nature's furies and animated weapon.
I always love looking at how people do their houses! I'll add the few I have left in my photobucket account, I lost a WHOLE lot :/ My first Auction house, I stole the design from Europa and tweaked it just a bit. Here are some shots of my castle that I deco'd for the Christmas Deco contest: My Second Auction house in Zento: My Fel house...wish I had some screenies of the inside, it was pretty cool, I think this is my favorite that I did. Now I get to do another house! Stuck right in front of someone else so you can't see any of the front so it's gonna be tricky.
I love it. It is the best house design i have seen yet.. and i can't imagine how many hours, days and or months that took you. Great job!
Moonfleet Manor is finally finished, after years of procrastination. The hous is on Legends, just outside of Vesper. It is private. First floor; Reception and Dining: Second floor; the Museum Curator's Office: Third Floor; the Museum: Fourth Floor; Wildlife Refuge for animals too injured to return to the wild:
First of all, THANK YOU to all who use this forum. So many tips and tricks I've learned over the years! I'm about to strip out my home on Baja (transferring to Atlantic), so I thought I'd post pics of my house before it goes bare bones. Here is my home, Yester's Eve: Ignore the tiny post at the front of the house, it used to have a small chest that made it look like a mailbox, but I recently moved it and can't figure out how I made it work 3 years ago First floor: Gardening area, Treasure room, Smithy/tinker area and stables: Second floor: Kitchen, Living room, and patio: Third floor: Bedroom, bathroom, sewing area, and second patio: My old home, 'Morrow's Eve: Which eventually turned into this, after some wonderful feedback from this forum: Can't wait for IDOCs to start back up on Atlantic--I'm currently squeezing into a 7x8 and let me tell you, it's a struggle!
Here is a picture of my farm =) and yes that is an outhouse. I have a teleporter in it that takes me to my husbands house. So when anyone comes from his house to mine or vice versa they have to go through the out house =P I live here when I am not at the falling waters fortress. =) which you can catch me there alot.
i have redone and refined most of my house since posted here last, so will post it again As seen from outside: Ground Floor: 1st Floor: 2nd Floor: Greetings Gilmour aka Loony Elahhez
Wow very nice. I see you are wearing a Georgia shirt. Me and my wife both play UO and live in Georgia too. We are currently deco our newest castles. lots of hard work hehe. very nice pics you have. I love the rubble.
Hey Just thought id throw my design into the pot its still an in-progress work so still adding to the deco. (plus the nexus isnt a permanent addition just till the global arc plays out)

I love your curvy walls Potgut! I've never had much success in customizing with the brown stone walls. They always end up looking too clunky and square to me. However, you've most definitely reminded me that there are funky shaped walls for these. I do have a question though... In your 1st floor do you have horse dung on pedestals?? I wish I could see what the signs said. I'm assuming it's meant to be ashes or something close to that?
Thanks LadyElizabeth for your compliments. Those what look like horse dung on the first floor are actually Deer Droppings and Yamandon Dung. They were left unlocked by an EM during the zoo construction event about 6 years ago (2006) at the Meer Village Zoo in Ilshenar (A zoo only in Pacific) , the signs breif this info.
Trailer on blocks complete with custom designed outhouse! Here is my house on Siege. I designed it for a contest but unfortunately no one else entered so the contest was cancelled. Here is the original thread. The house is nothing fancy but I like it.
I wasn't sure if anyone would actually want to see the inside. Here is inside the trailer. Here is the shed and underneath the trailer. Hope you enjoyed.
Hello everybody! I always loved this thread but I was to shy to post my own 18x18 design because I thought it would look far too crappy... However, I spent some time re-designing it and now I think I can show it... Hope you like it: It´s my Trammel-Cottage on Marble Island, Drachenfels... Best wishes!
Here is a recent 7x9 I made at Zento moongate on SP. Outside; Comfortable cozy bachelor pad: 1st Floor; Classic style study and library: 2nd Floor; Meditation corner and sleeping area with garden divider, includes mini kitchen:
Ha! I haven't been to my crafter's house in quite a while....didn't know I had you as a neighbor!! It's nice to see someone was able to squeeze something into that tiny plot. It's been empty for far too long. Edited to add after logging in and looking: And it's empty again!! Drat.
This is a custom "keep" I built on Yamato a few months ago that is shared with guildmates. Still slowly working on decorating it.
