Hello everyone, Ready for the next little tidbit? So we have showed you one of the items and we have hinted at a faction change we are making BUT I want to give you a little hint of a new monster that was added to the game. Below is a little small section of the monster thanks to Grimm that will be increasing your death robe count very soon! Can you guess what this might be???
off topic but could we PLEASE or someone mention it atleast... Have this text when people post to automatically show as WHITE or grey instead of BLACK? I mean really, why have it display default as black text when the background is already BLACK
Some of us use a classic background that is grey, any of those colors you suggest would make it incredibly hard for us to read. You change it to that then you will have many more people complaining.
It happens when someone copy/pastes from another program. the program puts it's own coding in which overrules the board defaults. the answer, should it happen to you, is to highlight the post and select 'remove formatting' (the eraser icon top left in the editing tools)
Hopefully not another alteration of the ancient wyrm/crimson/platinum/rikktor/Stygian dragon art, it looks a lot like the shoulder and neck of an ancient wyrm. Or maybe its a monstrous gargoyle A new permanent boss and not a one shot event guy? hope so.
I reserve my judgement. As long as it's snuggably soft when represented with a stuffed animal for valentines, I don't care what it is. Meow.
I don't think your wrong... I see scales and ridgeplates which tells me a giant turtle like creature might fit.. Course I must say it does look like a wing of some sort there on the right hand side of of the screenshot. Being a pilot I do see a supporting structure there that might indicate a lift producing edge.
While typing up my humorous response, I realized what it actually is: A Greater White Wyrm. (And that's a serious guess.)
ooooo i like the idea of Godzilla.............. and your quite right it does look like a Dragon but not so i think ...its a Demon perhaps a stronger version but i vote its of demonic heratage.
I think its a giant beetle attacked by an oni at the stairs of the luna bank.. or a huge jellyfish giraffe mutant.
I'm doubtful.. go take a screenshot of a White Wrym and show us how they are the same.. Besides Messana said it was a "NEW" monster...
I can't really tell if that upper bronze-coppery band of plates looks slightly mechanical or not and might be related to events in Ilshenar. It might be some kind of exodus-themed winged monster.
I ain't got a freaking clue, but I am betting whatever it is will drive those spikes into my chars chest alot. Looks mean tho
New Greater Wyrm that can be tamed? Or a Draconian monster that is enemy of the Gargoyles? Orrrr wait Ridable Giant Turtle....
Whatever it is, Sampires will have it solo'd within the week! Picture also looks better flipped. My Bet is huge Demon/Flying Undead Dude. Or NEW Race Draconian!
This monster represents the end result of infection in the Gargoyle race. It will eventually eat all the refugees camped around the city and has been seen flying out over the void to strange places. His armor, genetically related to dragon scales, but with void essence, is especially resistant to mechanical attacks.
Anyone here a Star Trek fan? My brother is and I remember watching an episode about the "Borg Collective". It was something about a race of machines that infected and took over organisims to create a race of super beings. I'm sure someone else (a fan) could explain it better than I can. But it made me think about what another poster mentioned. That is, that the infection to the gargoyles was intentional and maybe the begining of a new "Exodus Collective" with a new half/half Monster. If it is I think I can convince my bro to come back to UO, ha.
That's it! I was a little hazy on it but that's what I'm talkin about. Thanks. Now just replace Picard with a Garg. and we've got it.
well your all wrong clearly its *drum roll* bowser ohhh wait it can't be dont think a certain gaming system would aprove
I'm with Cogniac on this one and putting my guess on Greater White Wyrm. Its heavily requested by the player base and would be easy for the devs to add.
Eh, thats only in Ultima III box art and the woefully messed up, retconned "Tapestry of Ages" in Ultima IX. In Ultima III, Exodus is just an ugly ASCII boxy thing on a wall. Remember, its the soul of a daemon fused with a computer. So I'm expecting Exodus' avatar to be represented in UO as a large borgified daemon or gargoyle. Another possibility: Ages ago, Jeff told us to "watch the wild dragons." (paraphrasing as I can't seem to locate the source) Perhaps that vague nugget is finally bearing fruit?
Actually, that style of Exodus is it.. it was actually redrawn several more times than that and was used in several different game manuals and, if I remember right, a character portrait in Ultima 6.
The result of the warped mating of Sudiva while poly-morphed and a gargoyle, that was sadly one of the infected, resulting in a new race of Draconian/Gargoyle cross-breed, and hence the nature of the beast, evil tendencies and very hungry.
*Must resist urge to geek out!!* Btw ST First Contact was the best ST movie IMO and of course featured the Borg.
*geeks a little* Q was one of the best adversaries any Enterprise crew encountered. real trekkies will know how that ties in
Lol... I too am a die hard trekkie... never thought some of you guys even knew what Star Trek was... That's what you get for assuming I guess... But look at it again... it is armoured... but that is a wing.. Martyna came up with a very valid clue I think as well.... Another possibility: Ages ago, Jeff told us to "watch the wild dragons." (paraphrasing as I can't seem to locate the source) Perhaps that vague nugget is finally bearing fruit? Anyone wanna bet me something it's a winged creature?
I started off thinking winged but am leaning more towards a subterranean type critter like the ant lion. One that will pop up from the depths and stomp you to that monochrome screen *shrugs* Or to stay with the sci fi/action realm, UO version of The Graboid from Tremors *on the trek slight hijack* It is suprising how many Trekkies are out here. A few years ago a few friends and me started a guild on Atl [Trek] and used to rp; the crew visits UO Land at WBB {before Luna became the "hangout"} late nights. I was not too sure how it would go over but the folks LOVED it. Dang if you didn't stump me there
