hey guys can anyone give me a good taming template i like to do dread and stuff like that please any imput will be greatly appreciated..thanks
You need taming, lore, vet and um... 3-4 other skills. One of those other skills should use mana to be able to heal your pet.
Disco bard with ninjitsu easily is best tamer template for taking down peerless. Why ninjitsu? In dog form with blood armor and a couple of enhance pot jewels (preferably with extra resists) its nearly impossible to die. Chug a couple pots if in trouble and just vet pet. HP regen does the rest.
I don't have a lot of access to power scrolls and such so I went with a simple template. 110 Taming 110 Lore 110 Vet 110 Magery 110 Eval 115 Meditation 55 Chiv Pretty much a cookie cutter template. You have three ways to heal with this (Bandages, Greater Heal, and Close Wounds) and a decent amount of utility. But there are some days where I wish I was a bard/tamer
Yes, you can have a greater dragon and be in wolf form. Polymorph and ninjitsu forms do not effect the number of followers.
Question, what does the 55 Chiv give you that Magery does not already (I've been gone from the game for a long time, so just curious)?
Among other things, the ability to remove curses (including Mortal Strike, which can make a huge difference).
Dispell Evil! (makes bad things run away, and can drain mana in pvp from necros) Remove curse! (works on mortal strike, and curse, and blood oath, and corspe skin...) can still heal if you die and lose your regs and dont have LRC armor! can still recall if you die and lose regs and dont have lrc armor! can refull your stamina, (great on siege, or on normal shards if you do spawns)
My current skills are Taming 120 Lore 120 Magery100 Med 80 resist 100 Vet 100 ...what am i missing or what should i get rid of...plz get back to me
That's a good template to start with. If I were you, I would: 1. Raise magery to 110 for reliably casting 7th circle spells and somewhat reliably casting ressurection (the only 8th circle spell you'll need). 2. Drop resist. Unless you're fighting players, nothing should be attacking you. If anything does, you can typically cast invisibilty faster than an enemy can kill you. 3. With the extra skill points, add one of the following: Chivalry for the remove curse (only need 55), spellweaving for a variety of spells (need 100, 120 is better) like attunement, gift of renewal, wildfire, word of death and my favorite gift of life. Or you can add in evaluating intelligence for additional damage from your spells. Myself, I have weaving AND EI, but my template is intentionally weaker. 110 taming, 110 lore, 100 vet, 110 magery, 100 med, 100 weaving, 110 EI (20 skill points on jewels). There is no situation that I can't handle with that template. And with the right pet for the right job, I can handle most of those situations alone.
Well, the biggest reason I took Chiv is because I'd finished my template and still had about 50 points left floating around and what else would give me more than 55 Chiv? Not much else is very good at the 55 range.
If u "only" wanna do peerless and stuff like that. All u need is a team really. To improve your'e current setup, i would suggest the following. And u will be the most gimp tamer around From: Taming 120 Lore 120 Magery100 Med 80 resist 100 Vet 100 To: 110 taming 110 lore 100 meditation 120 eval 120 SW 045 necro 110 Magery 100 spirit speak ============ 815 total How: Base skill setup 100 Taming 100 Lore 090 Magery 090 Medi 110 Eval 120 SW 020 necro 090 SS 720 total Gear: blood spirit (+5 necro, +10 ss) dual skill scrapper +1 mr (+20 approx assuming +10 eval, +10 medi) Cryst ring +20 magery mark of trav +10 taming, +10 lore midnight bracers +20 necro aof, pendant of the magi, orny = 90 lrc.10 more lrc, 2 lmc, 2 mr on the leggings. inquis +3 fcr to give u 2/7 fc/fcr total 100 LRC, 40 lmc, 5 mr, 50 SDI or something Tactics: for fx melisande Make a team with A tamer/bard, A bush-archer-tamer bush archer honors boss. bard heals all GD's, u heal when needed bard disco meli. U go into wraith form. Corpse skin. flame strike++ when meli is red lined, u spam wod. approx 5 min later meli is dead. if u do it right
Carpentry skill can craft it elf only armor with 2hp regen is made with bloodwood and high skill in carpentry best to use good runics to make good ones but the darkwood set is an exceptional peice of equipment for this build haveing almost max resists and 30 defence chance increase would be sweet its made like crafted arties except you do not need recipys for the peices just lots of peerless regs if your able a good alternative would be to use voice of fallen king with a crystaline rine crimson and a totem of the void with a few more hp regen on other pieces of gear 18 cap so 14 what i stated so far +4 mabe use a bloodwood shield for +2 and a pair of gloves sleeves armor legs hat for the rest not to hard to build a nice outfit if you can afford to for that build without being an elf hehe though i guess factions can weare elf stuff now,
Never underestimate the power of thinking outside the box. The template I use is: 120 Spellweaving (WoD and a rocking Arcane Empowerment ~300 pt heals) 115 Magery 115 Med 60 necro (Wraith form for mana regen) 110 taming 110 lore 81 vet - rez pets/healing +9 spare points for whatever. I may drop magery down a little to get to lich form in necro. The above do not include any jewels which you could use to bump up the stats if you would like. Chiv is not needed since I can eat an apple to remove curses.
im just making a pretty straight forward tamer mage now 120 mage 115 med 120 eval 105 taming 120 lore 90 veterinary either 50 Ninja/Chiv/Spellweaving. Although i've considered dropping the 120 eval for 120 spellweaving Is there good benefits to 120 SW?, i have this on a soulstone.
Chiv isn't really for the tamer (who shouldn't be getting targetted much anyway), but rather for your pets, most especially when your pets are Mortal Striked.
There's a box? I must have missed it. *looks back at the templates posted* And I'm not the only one it seems.
the reason to pick up necro/ss/magery/eval on a tamer is to go into wraith form then hit target with fs,e-bolt whatever and leech insane amounts of mana, (while youre target has mana that is) Works quite well for a team of tamers, since not all have to heal the GD's or whatever pet you prefer. When your'e target is drained of mana, it seems to cast less spells if any on your'e pets. I find 100 SS /45..60 necro to be effective.
I wana keep my 120 lore and taming cause of all the hard work it took me..and im unsure of the other skills..
We understand that well, even those of us (well... me) who hasn't worked the skill all the way up yet. So try this. You have 120 taming and lore, that's 240 points. Whatever you're vet is at, drop it to 100 to give you good cure rates while giving you extra points to play with. The same goes with magery, you need 108 points in magery at a bare minimum if you don't like fizzling gate travel, so round that up to 110. Then you can choose if you want necromancy or not. Having necromancy means not needing meditation, but instead using 145-160 points between necromancy and spirit speak. Or you could use 205 points and have 105 necromancy and 100 spirit speak for no fail strangles and strong withers. Not having necromancy means you probably want 100 meditation. Then you can choose if you want to be a ninja-tamer. Adding ninjitsu means that you can get out of trouble yourself relatively easy, but it costs 300 skill points (100 hiding, 80 stealth, 120 ninja). Adding chivalry gives you the VERY important remove curse, but that's all you'll use those skill points for. And I'm sure I'm not helping, throwing these options out. That's the beauty of taming, there are so many ways to do it, and most of them is the right way. If you're doing dread horn, for example, you could do nearly as well with 120 taming/lore/vet/mage/med/weaving as you could with 120 taming/lore/100 ninja/110 magery/100 hiding/80 stealth/90 vet or 120 taming/lore/weapon skill (archery preferred)/100 vet/100 necromancy/90 tactics/70 chivalry (the last template being VERY efficient against dread horn specifically, but not so good against Mel unless you have mage friends). Then when you add in skill gain items, you add even more possibilities into the mix. So the first question you have to answer yourself is, what kind of tamer do you want to be? A warrior? A mage? A ninja? A necromancer? A spellweaver? A hybrid of different types? Then start building your template accordingly. There are very few ways to do it wrong once you have taming and lore in place.
I prefered to keep it simple... 120tame 120lore 120vet 110mage 110med 110spellweaving Never have any problem with any peerless(solo or group)well all except paroxy of course, and i dont do dread, dont like it much.
