On Wednesday, June 16th, Turbine began Closed Beta Testing for the upcoming new Free-To-Play Model for their successful title, The Lord of the Rings Online.

We're very pleased to announce the beginning of our North American closed beta! Today, beta participants begin helping shape and refine new content and features that will be introduced in Volume 3, Book 2 as well as the new LOTRO Store, which will offer our players more choices than ever when Free-to-Play launches this fall. We’ll be inviting more players throughout the beta, so sign up for the beta at http://www.lotro.com/betasignup!
