It is really great to see Kai Schober posting here, I thought he was the community manager of Warhammer Online and Dark Age of Camelot who occasionally updates uoherald.com too, since he hasn't had any interaction with any Ultima Online fan site before. I think it has been more than a year now. I guess since our previous unofficial community manager is the producer now..
It's not like there haven't been day-long issues before and I'm not one to complain about a single day like some others--unless of course I had lost a Brit ship or something terrible as a result. I guess there are certainly timely matters I would need to consider. Anyhow! UO has been fairly stable for awhile now, which is why I wasn't too hot about a one day absence of UO. Mesanna was on the ball, replied to us about the status of the shards, and while you guys didn't have to appease us with a gift, you did--and that's a lot of community brownie points right there. Especially since you guys STILL OWE US CAKE! *rears hefty Portal gun into the air*

Just got one and I think it is cute and makes a nifty container. Other colors representing individual shards would be great or the ability to dye them. Would love to see hamster - themed items as a running gag for when another hiccup occurs.

While different colours might be nice, I can see a very good reason for them not being. Every char getting one exactly like everyone else's keeps them as what they're intended, and not 'rares' to be stuck with a ridiculous price tag.
Thanks for handling this the way you did. Not being able to play UO for ten hours was frustrating, but I really liked the communication during the problem, the swift handling of it (and yes, ten hours is swift handling, I'm pretty sure this was a significant bloop), and then this cute little token of apology. This reward is only US shards? I check Europa, Drachenfels and Japanese shard,but nothing around luna gate. So we can get only US shard?
I think we need to be patient. The post said 'Wednesday afternoon'. I suspect that Mesanna is placing these herself, which is why some have appeared before Wednesday afternoon. I realise it's now well past that in Japan, but it's not in Eastern USA.
This is the stone that gives out hamsters on Siege. Based on when I took the screenshot (about 7:45 am Eastern Daylight Time), it looks like it had not quite 64 hours of life remaining and, therefore, should poof out of existence around 11:30 pm Eastern Daylight Time on Friday. I haven't checked any other shards yet to see if the remaining time on them is comparable to what shows on Siege's stone.
I often complain that nobody apologises after this kind of problem so, credit where credit is due, my thanks for this recognition. Not relly interested in what the token supplies I'm just pleased with the apology.
