It seems the slimes in Britain Sewers are running out of algae to eat! Many of the slimes have been spotted in the swamps south of Destard, near the savages. We must keep these creatures under control! Continue reading...
very nice! not only listening to the complaints of the sewers and doin something but they even used uoherald to keep us up to speed!
So form a buncha cures and you MAY or may not be rewarded? Sounds like about as much fun as being impaled.
yes I hate that part. I think you should at least get the sash for helping. That's better than nothing
Maybe. Maybe not. I'm doing it because I'm enjoying solving the puzzles now I've got the hang of how it works. I have no expectation of getting anything from it other than a few gains for my bard who's training on the terrathon avengers (optimal at 96 provo) Orc brutes are also optimal for disco.
I'm enjoying doing the potions too I think it's fun. But since the sash doesn't have anything special on it I don't think it would hurt for it to be given to everyone that participated
What are these puzzles you mention ? Any link with info about them for UOStratics or UOGuide ? Same here, what are these potions and sash you mention ? Any link with info about them for UOStratics or UOGuide ? Thanks !!
HA! those slimes are wayyy harder in the open. More to deal with and they run fast. FUN! Careful what you wish for.
I sort of agree. In the sewers they have the advantage since your strategy is limited to the environment. Out in the open, there are many options for defeating them. Nonetheless, you do not want to take them on in large numbers.
I found me a good spot with no spawn and I bring them down. I try to get one at a time but sometimes more follow LOL
I just took them on in the swamp. Still a pain in the butt for warriors (I think it sucks how we get shafted at every corner) but it shouldn't be a problem for a good mage or tamer.
especially since they don't worry much about the "acid-effect". Use mediocre armor w/ self repair. don't forget a spell channeling weapon to cut down on that effect
For the 16548955 time, i write everything from the ongoing event in the Quest and Event news for everyone. Its not just a story but also often a guide how to do ALL of the quests . Its not for myself i write it down, its for EVERYONE else who needs a little help. It would be nice that people actually READ things before asking silly questions. Again , Here you can find the latest news report: The Cure Bookmark this page :Quest and Event News and keep a eye on it if you want to stay updated on the ongoing event. I try to write it all as fast as i can and always include many screenshots.
i found this insanely funny! i think in part because i spend half my day thinking what in RL i could imbue and make RL funner! Toothbrush..... with swing speed increase, yes!!!
Asking Popps not to ask silly questions is like asking the sky not to be blue, water not to be wet, and a UO publish not to be buggy.
Feel free to contribute any time by writing up a guide for Stratics or UOGuide. Realize it is the players who write up these guides and contribute to these sites.
Now if only the Ilsh paragons weren't so stingy with the Vanilla and Sugar for those of us who hate gardening...
Such a positive lady. Well, I really want to get those sleeves or whatever so I can shoot fireballs out my butt. I probably won't get them, but worth a shot.
If I don't expect, I'm not disappointed, and if, by some miracle, I do manage to get something, then it's a nice surprise. I'm actually not growing enough vanilla and sugar to compete with those who have stacks of garden beds. I only have 2 and I'm not growing in pots.
Yeah, it'll take me a week to get the sugar alone. I wish they had the champ spawn town loyalty patched to all shards, would make doing Ilsh champ spawns worthwhile for getting sugar.
ohh, hadn't thought of that! I tried working Humility for a while yesterday - I got one cocoa liquor. I guess they don't love me. Spawn there was undead too - not my favourite starting level.
I wanted to farm Spider Cave @ Spirit Ilsh for Terathan goodies and paragons in one go but the cuticles only seem to spawn @ Keep ;( edit: nm, friend says you can get them there I wasn't having any luck though. killed like 25 warriors got nothing then I went to Keep and got a ton. guess just different luck for different folks. I also noticed when you mark keep it is called Terathian Keep by default--I don't recall that (no pun intended)
Same here. I won't be doing the puzzles at all. Anything where there's an unknown factor to success built in, I'll pass. Even when I collect any of the resources, it's because it's something New to do (read fun), plus I can sell them, for now - like picking up trash (not doing those either), good for only a while. Do it because it's Fun, when that stops, Stop doing it. Immediate gratification, looting, fun. A "possible" reward in the future, a variable one at that, naw. I set and make my own expectations in the game. When I first read it, the "Race for the cure", seems amazingly familiar (think Susan G Komen). While noble and good intentioned, but like the the naturalist quest of putting out fires and picking trash, I think the majority of players are not do-gooders, we're trained Killers, ones that kill with extreme prejudice. Next... pet 100 puppies and feeding birds everyday?
Sunglasses with random -10..+10 focus and sun protection Goza mat with +10 meditation and +5 camping So many possibilities!
Now that it's out in the open, i grab my mage, throw up some para fields, meteor storm and throw and couple of flamestrikes around. Way better than trying to melee. When you fight them face to face, they have an aura that ignores your defense and your skill. No matter how much dex you have, you will swing like once every 10 seconds (if at all) and miss most of the time. A real kick in the nutts to one of UOs oldest professions.
Have to agree, just tried that area... Check area for best fighting/running (also finds castle owned by "Britain Architectural Foundation?" WTF?) Lured other mobs away; thinned spawn, set. Very easy to Whiff yourself to death, literally. 1-2 ata time is about it for me. Also, you know how the game like to "turn" you in combat towards the foe? Face the opposite direction. I 'think' some of the problem is the mob actually moves out of range(whiff), then comes back in, just you don't see it. When I was first taught to kill, i was taught to go in an X pattern - never really moving over a tile from the mob - I think the game 'thinks' you're moving away and kinda pauses a second to 'adjust' - and it affects you hit chance. Make that mob move! Doesn't explain why in first level Deceit a quadriplegic can hit near 100%, but it does make a difference in other instances.
I killed Matriarchs in Spider cave. Over 250 of them and each one had a cuticle sac. I even finally finished my blackrock stew recipe quest. But I won't eat the recipe now -it's just for looking at.
Matriarchs and Avengers always drop a cuticle sac. Saw count for the raw yeast on orcs, the stronger the orc the more chance. Slimes are taking most damage with cold damage (Wither, hail storm, mind blast) . If you use weapons take something with armor ignore special move. With a bard, peace one and then use Disco and despair Mastery on them, works great!
Only thing that seems to be hard is the sugar. I go to spawns in "Sugar Rush" mode. I see a paragon bird on the way, that's one dead pigeon. Gorilla? Primate down. Greater Dragon? Okay, I don't need sugar that bad. Wait--I having rising colossus--let's do this. Cocoa Butter?! Are you kidding me?! Run, lure, EV. Run, lure, EV. In a week I'll have grown sugar--in a week I'll be a week down. No time to think positive like some . It's tough when you're blind--no number of turn-ins known other than by your own count, no leader board, no idea whether this collector NPC is legit or not...;P.
Dude! Just give up all the secrets why doncha lol While you are at it, tell em if they see a reptile spawn in ilsh, work it for double chance at ingredients (Sugar and Sacs)
Yesterday morning both of Chesapeake's spawns began as spider, so it was a cuticle/sugar bonanza. Well, I got like four sugar sacks. But a lot of cuticles, haha. What I'm going to do is only do quests that require 1 sugar.
I had been modifying my archer character Lorax's skills removing healing and using wraith form with curse weapon for health leech. I went to the brit sewers and had consecrate, EoO, curse, and a nice weapon with a bunch of damage properties on it. I see in my journal 173 damage scroll up, the slime dies, and hear my death. Apparently, I didn't read any thread carefully enough to know these slimes reflect leech as damage back at you...so much for using Lorax. I had to change to my mystic mage bard, which was significantly better at getting the sacs. The slimes make Lorax seem to really suck. Lorax's suit has 45 SSI on it and 10 SSI on the weapon and the slimes bring Lorax to his knees...The developers have so much power over me. -Lorax
Yea that is one of the 1st things i noticed. It would be wise not to leech from them. Using a leeching weapon causes additional damage to you
Just visited the swamp south of Destard and found no slimes... Did I miss something, are they gone now?
They are far South by the savage camps and a lil west. They are grouped into small spots waiting to gang up on you lol
Ok so .. im having issues gettin the sugar and then the slimes tho this will make it 1000000000 times easier on my way now to check it out!
