The first weekend of pre-qualifications has drawn to a close, which has already racked up a total of 18,610.26 MIL in floating ship wrecks and various on-board items. In total 32,746.67 MIL was fielded which will inevitably be destroyed as well. Cruel, cruel world. The next round of battles begin this Saturday at 15:00, kicking off with Dark Taboo (BOO) vs Waterboard (WTB). Is it just me, or is it ironic that Waterboard and Taboo are mentioned in the same sentence? The day will feature 16 battles, followed by another full-on day on Sunday with another 16 battles.

The current standings see Paisti Syndicate in 1st place with 63,75 points, closely followed by RAZOR Alliance. All alliances in standings 3 to 27 are all on equal points so it’s all to play for. Do you have a favourite to win? Maybe you have a bet on with your friends. Whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it so why not leave a comment?

The Group stages, being played on the 11th and 12th of July will be live on EVE TV in High Definition. The following weekend which will see the finals of Alliance Tournament IX will also be on EVE TV.

There have been some complaints on the EVE forum that CCP have done a bad job organising AT9, mainly for the fact that they’ve “dogged” 40 alliances, some of whom are reputable whilst some that are in the tournament are just alt alliances. One alliance, The Conglomeration of Ill Advised Ideas who have 23 members from 6 corps and 1 kill to their name has only been around for 3 weeks yet still managed to get in. How hard would it be to add an extra pre-qualifier to allow more alliances a chance at fame and get rid of the whole, selling tournament spots system. What are your thoughts on this?
