Guardian KX is in 3 day transaction mode and no longer mine. I requested the new owner use a name change token but its totally up to him. Dunno about Mag vendors either.

The low population and dealing with PK's that griefed VS played was big factor in my leaving.

Not being able to make posts and constantly being strangled silent by Petra and Kelmo were big factors as well. Reguardless of how hard I tried to be politically correct and bite my tongue I still couldn't win the struggle.

I regret fully in my heart my actions to Krystal. Totally wrong and I make no excuses. I lost a huge score of friends and my alliance over it, as maybe I should have.

I will miss you Gwendar, Czarina, Bradhadair/Molly, T R U/Damnation, Sprago, Bo/Hugi, Mini, Silent Death, Verum/Genni, Roland, Wilson, and many many others. I viewed loyality to the RL person behind the screen and not the pixel more important that all the pixel crack I have ever owned.

All my accounts are gone or dead so I won't be making a return.

Wavace, Fudd, Freesly, and all the others who constantly baited me - I hate the way you stab at peoples hearts and don't think it effects them. You viewed Stratics as a different type of PvP game, while I tryed to use it to express my opinion. I do wish you the best in RL and hope youll go a little easier on the next guy (if there are any).

Unlike the rest of the people that come back here and post, I will not. Stratics was my voice, and with the body dead the voice will die as well. Coming back here to post would just be a reminder of the love I had for a game that was drained from me. Mostly due to my own mouth and actions, but drained none the less.

    Goodbye from Siege Mate,

    Good Day

I will totally agree with this statement, the spirit of siege are these boards and the mindset it was always suppose to have...But Ill say this, and this will be hard to choke up, i have to agree with King Ed on one thing...

These boards are the voice of siege, and if people cant express/Laugh/Taunt/Poke Fun/Board PvP/ Buy/ Sell/ and spark excitement...the simple math below is easy to add up.

Dead Boards + Dead Shard X No PvP + Iron Curtain Mods = NO FUN/ NO PEOPLE!

That is one way to look at it. Another way is...

Trash talking and hateful attitudes run folks off of the forums and propagate the attitude that Siege is nothing more that a bunch of juvenile. trash taking PKs that would as soon skin a new Siege player as look at them.

I was just thinking this same thing. It's not a jab and Kelmo and Petra either. I like both of them, always have. The time and efftort they put into the forums and siege is without comparison. It just seems that in making sure the boards dont fall off the deep end with taunts, rants and trolls it has swung to the other side where people can't have a complaint about UO or another person without getting the thread locked or deleted. I just dont see the harm with people having it out on the forums at times. These are forums we have chosen to have our voices heard. As long as there are not RL death threats or something illegal going on I dont see any reason why people cant vent.

Agreed!! I'm not sure why any form of entertaining board pvp thread is locked and yet Skyrim and SWTOR thread's are open for business. I guess I have always looked at the Siege Perilous forum as a kinda bloodline for the shard. When it's busy and people board pvp, selling/buying ect ect that means they are playing. Otherwise...:sad4:

Dear Mr Fudd. You seem to be confused. None of these locks or infractions/warnings have a thing to do with the game. It is about Stratics. You say you have more fun on Atlantic. Fine. If that is the game you prefer then it is your game, play it as you wish.

I did just review the last 12 months of your posts. In the last year you have posted a grand total of one time on the Atlantic Stratics forum. Is was a respectful post that would draw no attention as it was well with in the Stratics'
    RoC.

For some reason you seem to be confusing Stratics' Siege Forum with the UO game shard Siege Perilous. I assure you that they are two separate things, each with their own set of rules.

And yet... Atlantic's forum is much tighter with the moderation than Siege's Forum (Believe me - I know)... Seems to run counter to your entire argument.

If there were any others like is normally posted on Siege - they'd be long since removed. PVP in game is not = to PVP on the boards.

Theres no need to post on the ATL boards cause theres to much PvP and stuff going on...you dont have to try and spark entertainment there is no need...but siege is as dead as you are, this shard needs life...i suggest you figure out a good style to get people back playing, cause siege boards were always different then any other shards boards, just like siege is so much different rule set wise than any other shard, its the tough shard huh? well the siege boards have turned into the ***** patrol leading the pack...

Its just a shame, but your to smart to see it as it is...knock yourself out... these boards are so dull and boring now, its not even funny...what the hell am I even trying for, you got what you want champ...

Do you really believe trash talking on the Stratics Siege Forums promotes play here?

I guarantee that the sort of trash talk you are looking for does not exist on Atlantic or any other shard forum. Take it to PM if you "guys" want to ***** slap each other.

Or as was suggested, open up your own forum and run it as you see fit. I suggest no moderation. That is always fun.

    Damn Fudd....

I guess this thread pretty much answers my question of "Where do you draw the line?". Fudd's first post was pretty amusing but went off the deep end pretty quickly. With so many shades of grey I guess just keeping it black and white would be the way to go.

And that's without the avalanche of post reports we get bombarded with when someone who started pvp on the board gets in too deep and reports whoever is getting the better of them for personal attacks or trolling.
Which gives us the problem of trying to study the post in question and decide 'was it a troll, or are we being used?'
Conning the mods into giving someone an infraction may be part of the 'game' for board pvpers, I don't know. But it's no fun for us.

Now I ask everyone who is going to read this, my thread about being the Ambassorder or siege, it was a play on king eds, but it was my justification in a humourous way, why i was the Amabssador, now what in gods name was trolling about that? it was funny, light hearted and started sparking some good clean pvp fun,...then kelmo with his personell reasons against me has to lock it...like he did Tnts threads, JsVs threads Koc/Evo?Otf....if we arnt all fricking stealthing crafters, he wont let the spirit of siege be there on these boards,

Now i fully understand if someone is being personell in a bad way or bringing IRL or family or obvious things like that, thats understandable to moderate that and curb that...but this is just out right overboard and he fricking knows it

Kelmo I read some of your posts and ya trash talking will promote play here. The largest crowd in the game are pvpers. People see trash talk they get on to check it out. I did....

We brought an entire guild over to Siege just to pvp and GM'd many many characters only to find its a land filled with pvmers and crafters :/

I have made alot of friends here and I would feel terrible to come on and just start cutting people down now.

For instance Fudds posts with his trash talk actually made me start logging in to look for him so I could kill him and laugh.

    Anyways
    Now Guardian is gone....
Let Siege be siege, its a lawless land. Stop removing threads and tossing out infraction points.

Its trash talk in a good way...not a bad way, i wasnt getting personal, and i wasnt bringing IRL into it, just good clean fun...I wanna pvp and kill people just as must as being killed, sometimes you win, sometimes you dont, but thats the fun of it...it gets peoples pantys bunching up for another go around and fight...BTW, thank you for a little PvP support, a guy doesnt get much of that around here on this shard....there like the hump back whale, there damn near extinct, its only when their completly gone that they wake up and figure out the shard is dead as hell and not worth logging into...but what do i know, im not a stealthing crafter...lol

P.S. I came back to find people like you to kill...lol

To me, the board PvP has always been a part of the ingame PvP but it have to stay in char and not be about the person behind the char.

Now Siege had always been a place, where your actions affect the actions against you and a bad reputation can be very hard to changes back to good or at least respected.

I know, working thing out on Stratics = very hard work for the Mods and if not done with respect for Stratics rules, easy will end up with a locked thread.

I do miss more actions on this forum as it will make the shard look more alive.

There had always been cases, where someone had done something stupid, crazy, wrong or even against etic and the game rules but even when the shard don't easy forgive, I had seen it happen, special when the person is truely sorry.

I know, I had been there and I know, I sometimes got very long line from the Mods here but I also believe, the reason I never had been banded here and only had got a few warnings, is, I always tryed to keep the rules here and show respect or disrespect without breaking the rules.

If all try to stay inside Stratics rules, I believe we again could get a little more actions here.

To Guardian, you will be back, Siege is not that easy to leave.

Totally surprized this thread isnt locked yet. Few more days of answering any questions or outright wrong statements and thats it.

I considered myself one of the largest players that were still left on Siege. I tryed SOOOOOOOooooo hard to watch my tongue on my Ambassador thread. I musta read it over 20 times making a change here and there... basically using it as a judgement device. After I got "Kelmo'd" I begged Petra for help, only to be told the usual banter that I was attacking "Everyone's play style that didn't match my own". My stratics account is so heavily marked up that one more infraction will bann/kill it. Then the next day Fudd made his post, and not only was it negitive in general, Petra posted on it AND DIDN'T LOCK IT. I knew then that I was being 2 faced slapped directly in my talk hole.

Freja... All my accounts are gone or dead (restarting King Ed would be a insult to others in my opinion). I had totally empty'd my White Lighter/Walmart/herb/King Edward accounts into my Guardian one. I've said I quit too many times to be taken seriously... Alas I have. I have no more stashes around to keep my addiction going, a choice that deeply down inside of me im happy are gone.

As soon as the 3 days are over and the transaction is done then the final thing I need to do is find somewhere to make a new homepage. Siege forums has been my homepage forever. My personal game choices would be sci fi/fantasy. I want to try the Star Wars or Star Trek games but have no idea whats good or best or has people playing it. Dunno what game has been here for years and is in its death throws or what started yesturday and is the best thing since sliced bread and has a million people playing on it. I'll use the example of a new player reading the U-Hall page and thinking this game is fresh and hopping... but WE all know the truth. 99% of the vets playing wondering deep down if the plug is gonna get pulled tomorrow or not.

If anyone has any parting questions for me then nows the time to ask them. How the usual troller's come back here and post on threads on a game they don't play is beyond me.

Well - originally i dont wanted to interfere with this topic, but reading all this i
couldnt hold back anymore. I will try to put it as simple as possible and leaving
out my thoughts about certain peoples behaviour, speech or choosing of words.

    1.) PvP or PKing?
First of all there is a difference between PvP and PKing, as the Letters suggest
there are two (P)eople actively involved in the first one and one aktive (P)erson
    in the second one.
If someone enjoys PvP, there are multiple ways to do this - and not only on Siege,
all the other Prod-Shards still have the Felucca Faccet where PvPer meet and enjoy
their way of playing the game. E.g. there was a very active (and very attractive and
skilled) PvP Scene in Felucca on Europa. This PvP Scene also had its own Forum (and
IRC Channel) for the involved Board PvP, the EFC-Boards (Europa Felucca Community).

So good PvP involves two sides willing to take part and the quality raises with the
skills and qualities of the people involved. Those skills are not only the in game fighting
skills, but (maybe even more important) the social skills to deal with PvP, with how
to treat your opponent so the PvP stays active and fun.

PKing on the other hand is the cheap and egoistic fun of the one active side involved,
sometimes covered with excuses like 'the rules allow it', 'i am free to to what i like', 'if
you cant deal with it, dont play (on Siege)' etc.
If someone kills a crafter while mining or restocking a vendor and then claims to be a
PvPer, i am wondering about his definition of PvP.
If someone kills somebody in the hope of good loot, hes simply a thief lacking the stealing skill.
If someone kills somebody just for the fun of it, to raise his own Ego by pushing someone
elses down, even enhances that feeling of 'power' by destroying the victims belongings,
it has nothing to do with PvP (theres a definition of such people irl i wont repeat here).

If someone fights somebody else to measure fighting skills, to try out his own skills against
the most challenging enemy the game has, another PvPer, thats what i call PvP. It gives
the 'flow' feeling when you win or the challenge of oneself in case of loosing, wich makes the fun in game for some players - wich i call PvPers.

    2.) The Stratics Boards
The Boards here are very well known for their Rules and their Purpose - they are aiming on
all UO-Players and not a certain group of players. This indeed means that some Rules are
followed and the Mods are here to take care of this. In my eyes they are doing a very good
job there - though i am sort of new here, but i know Petra since years and i totally trust
her judgement. I know she is a very consierate person, always really thinking about both
sides of an issue - and she has a lot of experience with all kinds of UO-Players, incl. the
PvP Scene and its sometimes weird and hard to understand 'Rituals'.
The Point is: This Boards are for all Players, Trammies, Tamers, Crafters, Sissies, Pkers, PvPers, Stealthers, Thiefs, Auctioneers, Collectors, Gardeners, Veterans, Newbies, well
even gays or soldiers - so nobody should try to force his views, sense of humor etc. on
others that may disagree or feel offended - thats what the Rules are for here - to enable
communication between a wide variety of people.
(And even Mods are just human, so not always right in their actions, but its the attitude
that counts - and with both mentioned Mods i see the right attitude for these boards.)

If you want Board PvP or the freedom to trashtalk people, using discriminating language
etc., create a Forum for people who share these attitude - and dont abuse one where
some users might not have agreed on those treatment!

    3.) Siege:
In my eyes Siege is not a PvP Shard - as mentioned above you can establish good PvP
on every Shard (and some have it since years).
Siege is a Shard with a much more free-to-choose-your-actions Ruleset, meaning that
People have more choices for their actions. But its still on them to choose!
I almost always lived in Felucca, because i like the freedom. People are better to know,
when they can act freely than when they are forced in a strikter Ruleset. Thats why i
wanted to try out Siege - it was my alternative to Europa Felucca.
I am a pure crafter, and i have every right to be on Siege as every PK, Thief or PvPer!
And play it my way while considering the shard-community - respecting them and not
damaging the world that was build here, nor the people living here. For me its a basic
rule of humanity - everybody else has the same rights as me!

The End (of another moralists post)

    P.S.
To answer the obligate question in this thread by someone who seems to judge people
after their in game characters and playstyles:
I almost always play a pure crafter in game, but still i am sure i have more experience
with PvP, PKing and the like than a certain Bunnyhunter.

This tells me all I need to know about you. You, like King Ed, take this game way to seriously. I'm not going to go into some deep discussion about PK'ing and the role playing. You are simply not worth my time after a post like that. However, I will say this. PK'ing can make you ALOT of gold. End of story.

Sorry if i may sound not clear on that, Freelsy, i am not opposed to PKing, as strange as that may sound after my post.
I simply tried to define the differences.
I had a lot of discussions about PKing pre trammel and shortly afterwards, when the definition
of PvP was not really common within UO.

Surely PKing can make a lot of Gold, i guess that was the reason so many people newly starting the game in 1999 followed that path: quick and easy gold.
    Problem was the balance.

I even think PKing has its place within UO, thats why i always played felucca and now am on
Siege. Theres one reason for PKing that i clearly favorise, thats the 'Balance', people playing
a PK to remind people about danger, insecurity, wilderness in the game - and that, in fact, is adding fun for the players that choose to play on the 'wild side', enhancing the gameplay.
But that is also a playstyle that needs some skills, inkl. social ones to deal with - and to
always remember the 'balance' in some ways, otherwise the game experience may tilt, damaging the game oneself is playing.

Btw: I dont think i take the game to serious, but i do take people serious - if you blame me for that, youre right. Games are for fun, but for every players fun - thats the balance.

That's not how I look at it. How about me chooce to mine on Siege, outside guard zone, on a char who never fight other than to kill annoying monsters and dark wisps.

You may think I would hate to get killed on this char. I love the risk and loosing a few items to a PK, do not ruin my day.

Or what about me on my PvP char, killing someone in the wilderness, maybe a lumberjack, a newbie or someone killing monsters.
My victim is not looking for a fight but he do like my miner love the risk.
Now, I'm not out to ruin someones day and I don't really need anyones loot, so my way is to rez the guy again, maybe chat a little and leave him in good mood.

Even when I'm nice to my victims, I don't expect the PK who kill my PvP char or my miner to rez me and leave me with most of my stuff.
Sure I hate to get clean looted, but most times, I will get a rez and so of my stuff back. And I'm not the only nice PK, I had offen got all back. Now I know, reputation do matter here, if the killer dislike you, he may trash all and rez kill you.

But on Siege, it's all PvP, even PK'ing, but there will always be a few grief players on a shard and even if you are looking for a fight and you will call it PvP, it's not fun, if someone want to ruin your day.

It do not stop there, being willing to deal with PK's and find ways to get along with them is also player vs player = PvP

That sound as grief to me, PK's can share the fun but if you start crying and trash talk them, even the most nice PK may tell you to go home to Trammel.

Maybe it's your definition that is wrong :) Yes it's PK'ing but still PvP, it's up to you to find a way to deal with it.

I was running a Shop for years in a heavy PvP spot. If you stock stuff the PK's need, they may go easy on you.

Don't let him get the joy from seing you hurt. He get no power from you if you just smile and hide your anger.

Don't forget, this is Siege. Sure not all here do PvP but all here know and accept the risk for being victim and get killed.

Board PvP do not need to be trashtalking and discriminating language. You can do Board PvP without breaking the rules here. It's all about showing respect and not attacking the person behind the char or worse.

I'm born on Atlantic. I sure was not a PvP'er when I started. It was 1997, so no Trammel. It was PK's who learned me how to fight back, when I was out mining or lumbering. I was almost kicked from my guild, because I had red friends. I was not a PK at that time, not even an anti PK but the first year of UO was my best time in the game. Siege is the closest I get to my first year in UO.
Sure you have every right to be here, but you have to accept the risk for get killed. Just traveling light, don't let the PK get items, you can't affort losing. Then try to get the best out of it. Some of them may even RP or you could try to do some RP when you see them or get back to life. It may changes everything.

    I'm not sure about this.
Did you ever meet a nice PK or a RP PK?
How do you react when you get PK'ed?

You made some very good Points there, Freja, and it seems i didnt manage to get my points clear in my post - so i am thankfull for some clarifications.

Totally agree with that, i just define that actions as PKing. Youre right that the 'Victim' agreed on the possibility for that to happen by playing here - but from my definition this
doesnt make it PvP. I might be in a minority with this definition, but i learned that from
my Experiences on Europa - its just my way to define a difference in actions here.

I am sorry but i dont like to Siege as all PvP, i have witnessed so many things where people were helping each other - so this was clearly PwP and not PvP. On Siege PvP is always an Option, unlike on the Trammel areas on other Shards, but its not all about it.

It do not stop there, being willing to deal with PK's and find ways to get along with them is also player vs player = PvP[/QUOTE]
    Good Point!

Aye - maybe my definition isn't valid for the majority here - i just tried to use it to clarify
my arguments about the different options and playstyles.

Agreed as well - so what i meant was that Part of Board PvP should not be practised here,
it can be fun and usefull if held in an according environment. I was a member of the mentioned EFC-Forum and it really was fun and i think it added to the quality of the Gaming for a lot of People. So i am not totally opposed to it, just think that Stratics may not be the right place for it.

I share your experiences on Atlantic pre trammel - just that it was Europa for me - but i agree with your valuing of those days - thats why i mostly played felucca and now am on Siege.

I guess you mean on Siege, since during my time on Europa i was a traveler between the various communities, participating in the RP-community, attending PvP Events, knowing and befriended with PKs, Factionists, PvPers, Traders, Collectors, ... . I was always fascinated in the varieties of peoples and playstyles within the game, this is one of the aspects that really keep me attracted to the game - the freedom it offers and what people do with it.

On Siege i was PKed a few times, got to know nice PKs to have a chat with after, even another 'fight' maybe, and witnessing neutral ones that just killed me, searched my stuff and left. Havent met a RP-PK yet on Siege - we had some on Europa back in the days, dont think there are any left now.

My reaction varies from just staying dead until the PK leaves to ressing and chatting, depending on the PKs actions. I normally don't react upset and i very rarely complain or even trashtalk, for complaining i need a good reason and for trashtalking i would need to totally loosing my control.

I am really sorry if my post came across as a complain about PKing or looting or anything like that - people who know me know that thats not my intention - i am able to deal with beeing killed, looted, stolen, etc. - i have some years experiences with that in the game :)
My post was ment to be about respect for the people behind the pixelpuppets, the variety of options to treat them and still to consider the humans with different feelings and views behind them.

Fudd is alright. He just has some funny ideas as to what Siege is all about. They are his ideas and it is as much his game as anyone else. He will huff and puff for a while then all of this will blow over.

    Until next time...

Sorry, I did not mean Siege is all about PvP, but that on Siege, PK'ing is also PvP as you do accept the risk.
Siege is much more than just PvP, Atlantic was that too when I started playing. Some do play here, because they can sell their crafted items to the PvP'er as we do not have item insurance.

Then you missed out the best time, the EU shards was first born after we got stat loss for reds. Before that, reds did not hate blue. Most respected their victims. Sure some killed to get a good loot, but many was endet up as red, just from lagging and hitting a blue instead of a monster. It was a different system at that time, you did not need to kill to get red.

I know :), you did came off a little wrong :p

Just saying keep it consistent..thats all. Other threads have been shut down for promoting other shards or games. A variety of people play this game and a variety of play styles post in this forum. As long as good and harmless fun does it really damage this forum, shard or game ?? To me it shows the forum is alive and gives me a reason to check it out (other than just a preview of other games that I can try when UO bores me to death :p)

I would like to address the original "good bye" post on this thread.

    Guardian,

I have been with UO, off and on, since it was in Beta testing. Mostly on Atlantic, but in the last year I have spent a bit of time on SP.

Even though we've probably never met in game, I'd like to say bon voyage. Do not think of the last 12 years as a waste or a sad time. We all continue to learn as we move through our various worlds (i.e. games and real life.) I have found that this multiplayer game can be cohesive but it can also prove to be quite painful at times, but it has a draw that is difficult to remove oneself away from.

I am sure that there have been many a laugh and good time as you've played here. And, who knows, maybe you'll be back or maybe you are finally done with UO. Either way, it is a game and you should try to keep yourself from taking it too seriously. UO should not have the power to either make or break you. We each have the intellectual capacity to decide how we will be effected by griefers, enemies, friends and power tripping jerks. (To name a few...) Just remember, to thine own self be true and thrive with a smile wherever you are.

I'm sorry to see you go since this shard could sure use more players and more unique perspectives actively stomping in these empty lands.

If you do end up sticking around, feel free to say hello.

    - Blaeke/Delilah the Mad/Maddening

Promoting other shards/games in a way that diminishes Siege will not fly. I allowed Darkfall threads until it became a matter of one game over the other. *tips hat*

I think you posted this in that thread..."*frowns* You test me greatly... You have done much for this shard... I will allow yer OT post." This implies that you personally like CZ and thus will "allow" the thread to continue. Again, I'm not here to cause an argument or add board drama (in fact i'm now tempted to drop an UO account and try SWTOR myself now after this thread :) ) but rather stating that the forum has changed in the last 4 years since I started playing on Siege. I think that the Siege Perilous forum is kinda the bloodline that gets fights happening, gets people posting and gets people logging in the game and actually playing.

This is EXACTLY the crap and attitude that I had enough of in game. People like this who never ever want to promote good play time or style. The type of person that keeps pumping thier chest that Siege is either live or die. Believing that Siege is PvP only and that means grief play style and destroying/keeping everything and a fine cup of trash talking when yur finished. If you ever had a issue and asked for support, the usual "Get the !@#$ out of here dude" was the responce you'd recieve". Even asking in chat for a buyback would sprout garbage beyond belief, and that was when the person had NOTHING to do with the conversation in the first place. When your on the shard day after day with the same 5 negative people doing (seemingly) nothing but trying to rid players of the 10 we had on the shard, enough is enough. (Please don't think they did this to get more peole to attack them, that was never their goal... not once did they ever spam where they were and that they were looking for a fight.) Concerned ONLY with getting people who's play style they didn't like off the shard, then doing nothing EVER to get someone here to replace the ones they chase off the shard. Sprago's guild has one, T R U's guild has one, GIL has one, based on Bo/Hugi's responce anothers coming back... and thats just the few I can think of off the top of my head. Even tho Fudds post was negative I can feel his desire in trying to get people to kill him, PvP being his goal, many times remembering KOC's spam of where they were in-game trying to pull action to their plate. Sprinkle a fine layer of mods locking threads designed to pull people here was the final push. Calling me "Not the best Ambassador to Siege", then backpeddling when they feel the name might stick. Posting the title in the posts they make or quote, then afraid they might have to take some blame for starting said title in the first place. Ended with LOCK LOCK LOCK and INFRACTION, quickly wiping their hands of the stew they helped create, hoping no one would notice what THEY started. Twisting the ROC to what they believe is in Siege's best interest. The same people of power never playing Siege anymore, closing account after account down (as it is their right). Dealing with a ROC that says you cannot argue with a mods, or use PM's to prove that they're wrong. With locked threads that say "I have the last word"... basically saying "NA NA NA, I get to kick dirt in your face, make you shut up, and you can't do ANYTHING about it".

Like I said before... You just go ahead and stand up on that mountian of the dead, ruler of a dead land.
