Am I mistaken or do I need 120 natural Chiv to get the smallest penalty when I cast DF? I have ~95 natural and the rest on jewels to take me to 120. Seems I should go another way with skills on jewels though.

Are there other skills that can't be put on jewels or similar reasons?

You neen't to have 120 real skill. Skill on jewels is ok. But you need about 19k karma.

Karma is very helpful - but only effects duration, not effect. the difference at high karma is a 12s consecrate weapon and a 4-5s

It isn't true for DF. If you want to use DF for stats you need 19k karma.

So you must get +15 SSI, +15 HCI, +20 DI, -10 DCI.

Yeah. I feel a bit silly to say, but I was wearing the wrong pair of jewels, and apparently just didn't look closely enough.
