trying to figure out of necro is worth cramming on my tamers template. if i do it i will have 80-90 necro and 20 (joat) spirit speak.

uoguide says that lich form adds 13 mana over 10 sec, basically 13 mr. is this really the case? seems pretty crazy for only 70 skill points.. almost twice as efficient as med point for point. this might be a no-brainer but i'm cautious that they may have made the amount of mr dependant on spirit speak or something.

how many animated dead can you have at one time? also, does your spirit speak skill factor into the strength or number of your animates at all? i read in one of the threads in here that high necromancy and/or spirit speak gives better animates.

if neither of these spells require spirit speak to be effective i'll definitely be using it.

As far as the Lich form im sure it works fine but I havent tested it. The anmates however are completly dependant on your necro skill. It has to be real skill as well. skill plus items dont effect animates. You wont get any decnt animates untill 100 necro.

Lich form does the mana regen, the drawback is the hp loss while in the form.

You can have only 3 animated monsters at a time.

I do have a necromancer with taming skills (85 taming/lore, enough to bond a pair of bake kitsune, but I still need the dark wolf to control them reliably), and it works wonderfully for me.

    Observations:
Lich form does work as advertised. That means I can use my bake as tanks against Mel and keep healing through the entire fight, even with no vet. If it weren't for the satyr, I would think I could solo Mel with my bakes. It would take forever, but I believe I can do it. With lich form: no SS, no problem.

Animates: I don't use them most of the time. UO Relic was right in saying "3". I don't think that your SS has anything to do with the strength of your animates.

Familiar (you didn't mention it, but worth saying): Very useful, but need spirit speak to use them. Having a cu or a pair of bakes with death adder familiar makes things like Coil or Baracoon spawn a snap. A wisp familiar gives you even more MR.

The majority of what preceeded my post i cannot find fault with, however, in my experience the strength of you animates is base upon the strength of you corpse and type of corspe.

(for example...normal rats will give you skeletal mages, rat archers/mages give you liches and the fallen angels will give a lich lord.)

Strange one is that all spiders seem to give the mouond of maggots even dread spiders!

All arachnids give you mounds of maggots, even Miasma.

All dragons give you skeletal dragons, I believe (but I haven't tried it, maybe I should) even drakes.

But for the most part, what you animate is based on the fame level of what you kill.
Skeletal mage - bone knight - lich - flesh golem - lich lord (from low to high).

Drakes give lichs, ophids flesh golems, dragons flesh golems.

Skele drags come from hydras and HIGH end drags ancients and shadows...not GD's
