255 stone statues in boxes used to block housing placement

Ive seen these used on people trying to resize luna houses, there are currently 3 that just got placed at a Castle fall on Great lakes, I have a call in but whomever placed them will prolly have 4 or 5 houses placed by then and be waiting for a GM to get rid of them so they can resize to a castle. something needs to happen with them or at least have a quicker response time from GMs when people call about them.

It gets nastier than that. You won't get the statues removed, but the people who placed them will.....

If there is some secret code phrase that will get a GM to remove things blocking placement like this, please post it here. I have waited in queue for dozens of hours and can't seem to get anything other than a polite version of , "Buzz off."

I find just explaining the problem works for me, I sent this once:

GM came and did it just fine, I've sent similar for IDOCs with pirates or other stuff left behind.

I've sent a few in and just let them know that the statues are actually items that are stuck there from an old exploit and generally that gets a GM to come remove them pretty quickly.

I think the "nice guy" was looking for lanterns not statues, and just to be overly clear, lanterns don't block placement.

Well said Deaol. And you are correct, I believe it was Lanterns!
I just LOVE the two I have at the Luna Lot on Pacific!!

I too watch television! Although Seinfeld is far from my favorite show, I do watch the Biggest Loser and am perfectly capable of deciphering a euphamism.

Sadly, even that requires getting the correct GM. I paged once because of a water trough that was in the way:

"There is a water trough still blocking terrain from an old house that has decayed. Could you please remove the water trough to allow for new house placement?"

First GM: Sorry, but we cannot remove items from the terrain for any reason.

Second GM: Showed up, removed the water trough, asked if I needed anything else, and was on his way.

The GM support from EA/Bioware/Mythic/Whatevertheyarethesedays/Andwhomeverishostingit is completely and totally random. Of course, Mythic COULD study the pattern of GM support and implement a new random number generator for UO from it. It'd at least be inconsistent in its results. ;)

I removed a couple of posts, let's try to stay on topic and keep the rumors about evil UO real estate tycoons out of the thread please.

To be very fair the placing of 255 stone items to block is really the only way to beat the cheating script placers.....that plague our game...some of these scripters even place afk with there dirty programs...alas im all for the 255 stone blockers....and the GMs on the whole are more than willing to help when called for!!!

Water troughs are self destroying now, if you place on top of them - so there was no need for callin a GM in first instance.

Something like this should do the trick - it helps the GM if you can remain in the area of the bugged statues as they seem to come to the player location and will most likely notice items in your visible area:

"Please remove these bugged immovable overweight statues someone dropped that were illegally obtained through an exploit and are blocking house placement."

I have seen these bugged statues in an IDOC of a very old castle on Oceania, and they were all heavy overweight statues that players could pick up when they were first created but which players no longer can pick up.

If a Game Master sees the statue on the ground the special client they use should be able to tell if it really is an illegally placed bugged statue or not, and they can and will use their Game Master powers to make these items go away permanently if they are found.

I have tried long and fruitlessly to get the Dev Team to make these statues disappear from the landscape and become removable by players and house placement again, but my requests always seem to fall on deaf ears.

There is no reason whatsoever that these statues illegally obtained through an exploit should not be removable by players and I am sick and tired of seeing them every time I scout around for IDOCs.

At the very least the Dev Team should see if they can identify these statues and make them decay like regular items do. There should be a time limit on the life of these statues, and it should preferably be measured in seconds, or at the very least the same amount of time decay as any other object on the ground that is not a specially placed object. They should also auto-delete themselves if found to be in a player's posession, irrespective of what container or mobile they're in.

There are also other bugged items like paintings and incomplete stretched hides that also should be removed by a Game Master if you find one that knows what they really are. These too dot the landscape with their ugliness and are a blight on the landscape for anyone wishing to place legitimate houses or even go hunting.
