3 Easy Faction Changes

    1. Fix points / revert to old system
    2. Add more rewards/incentive to own towns/steal sigils
    3. Turn faction combat on across all Facets

    Nice and simple, not too hard right? Everyone agrees the point system needs fixed, everyone agrees owning towns needs something, and everyone agrees that there needs to be a risk involved with PvMers joining factions and using the arties in tram.

    Im sure these points have been said before, but ive recently come back to the game and make sure its reiterated.

    4. turn off or down the stat loss time..

    faction pvp sucks when you have to wait out stat loss everytime you die.

    i can understand the reason for stat loss if you are defending or attacking a base. so maybe make those zones the only zones that give you stat loss if you die?

    I hate stat loss in the current system, as no one fights over sigils, at best you get a team fight in despise for the champ.

    But if you revamp Faction and have something worth defending then yes stat loss has to stay

    I really have to shake my head at the eerie contrast between the subject line and the rather extensive changes proposed in the post.

    If by fix points you mean remove the war zones that give you ridiculous numbers of extra points (I think that's it anyway...there's some mechanic that's now-outdated and makes no fictional sense anymore that gives extra points), fine. But you then say revert to the old system, which basically means no points for thieves save under the point honoring system, which some people (mostly hard-core PvPers who use Factions as an excuse to fight) profess to hate anyway!

    Then you say find a reason to own the towns....OK, great, but rare is the reason to own the towns that won't either cause someone to flip out because you are changing something or that won't cause a lot of time to have to be spent on it.

    And then turn combat on across all facets....Which will diminish participation even further. I think even hard-core PvPers, and certainly some hard-core Factioners (all Factioners are PvPers but not all PvPers in Factions are Factioners in any meaningful sense), like having neutral ground to rest and trade and spy in. And experience other aspects of the game. (Yes you could make another character for all that but not everyone has the time or inclination to develop a lot of characters. I, for one, have a mere 3.)

    So yeah...Like them or not (and I for one do not), your changes are far, far from "easy."

    I stopped reading it there since thats not even in affect anymore. It was triple points in the cities. Its still double points when a good faction (TB, COM) kills an Evil Faction (Min, SL).

    BTW, if you want character to Pvm on or banksit, then dont have it in factions. Factions wasnt meant to be for pvmers to join, get artifacts, and then never pvp again. It is SUPPOSED to be a hardcore version of the game with a high riskvsreward. The increased risk of dieing (Stat loss ect) vs the high reward (The faction artifacts ect).

    The faction artifacts are not what factions are all about..
    to me factions are about pvp fighting without the risk of 1000 murder counts in one day.

    even tho everyone loves to pvp it seems that as soon as you go to yew or despise and start fighting they throw around murder counts..

    i would take my char out of factions if they made it so pvp doesnt equal murder counts.

    i dont know about lowering the time in stat. with imbuing you can put 30 points of skill back on ring and bracelet. not the inconvience it used to be pre imbue.

    i didnt play under the old system so i can opine about no. 1.

    for no 2. it would be cool if there was something to play for by fighting and keeping the base defended. we had one event (i forget which) where the stealing of sigils triggered the event. that was cool.

    i dont know why a trammy should be penalized if he wants to wear faction arties on his sampire. with imbuing is this really even an issue anymore???


    never mind about faction changes anyway. where's ur guild on chessy?? thought u were coming back :( :twak:

    Some shards really need this fixed. Does anyone disagree it has gotten kind of silly?

    I can agree with this but I can't offer any input, sorry. About the only thing worth fighting for would be the ability to heal red guildies without getting guard whacked. However, I think that should be a general rule in Felucca. That or turning off GZ in Yew/Yew Gate.

    *shrugs* The main two characters I have in factions that use faction artifacts can only access one facet anyway.

    Side note; I don't know if these changes are actually easy to implement or not. I would think #1 shouldn't be too hard but I am not a programmer.

    We don't need reverts to the older system. What we need is a new system, overhaul.

    I rarely pay attention to points; I wear not a single Faction Artifact, so have little cause to fret over them.

    I do remember the cities thing being used sometime within the last year, and the war's much older than that, so either my source was wrong or it's been fixed somewhat recently.

    I guess I could've misunderstood someone too?

    I'll never understood why people insist on thinking there should be single-use characters.

    It isn't PvMers who join for the artifacts, it's PvPers. Then they only participate in Factions minimally, or never, and use the Artifacts for random Yew Gate and Champ Spawn fighting.

    I take it you're one of those?

    Interesting how you appear to think that skill loss is somehow related to the Faction Artifacts; the former, you should know, considerably predates the latter.

    When you look at Factions as originally implemented, it was actually pretty clearly made to include many playstyles. PvM gets you the most silver; Faction Crafting could get you a blessed Faction runic, basically the unbalancing artifact of that era; and of course you need a thief to steal sigils and control cities. While that's surely PvP in some sense, some of the best Faction Thieves I know do not consider themselves to be PvPers, because they use the term PvP to refer to direct confrontations.

    But hey, it's a different world now. Some consider Faction Artifacts to be a God-given right, hence the selling and buying of points in Global Chat. Easier to do that than to get points through actual participation.

    I believe you answered your own question.

    Factions = Felucca

    "Trammy" = Trammel

    Personally I´d like it so that faction artifacts are only equippable in Felucca...
