    Hi, everyone. :)

First a little background. I played UO from the launch till up around AoS.
Since then, I have come back probably a couple of times over these last 10 years or so, either time did not last any longer than a month, then, left for one reason or another. So, my knowledge of UO is totally not up to date. Please bear with me. :(

This time, I and my two other friends came back to UO about a month ago. Last night, we decided to do something together for a change, and tried Dread Horn for the first time. It was chaotic, no less. But, we managed to kill it, and got a *drum rolls* decorative giant mushroom and Misceraneous junk. Can the loots from these named be this poor?

After that, we decided to try the Fel champ spawn, and headed to fire dungeon. Thats where extremely weird things.. I mean something we totally could not understand happend. (admitted that we have not done champ spawn forever and ever.).

We all played our tamer character last night.. two of my friends both brought Greater dragon, and I took my rune beetle and Kit with me. The first weird thing happend when we were done or almost done with stone gargs etc. Succubi and deamons spawn.... we started to get this pop up windows warning us about criminal flags. It seems we were going grey by attacking these spawns, also, deamons had (SL) at the end of their deamon names. What is this all about? It was extremely annoying. It was like we were taking turn going grey by healing our selves and our pets. I don't remember this kind of thing happened to me before.

With all that annoying spawn, we managed to spawn Semidar, one of us was a male char so he morphed into a female char, and fight went on. (not that we knew much about this spawn though.). Anyhow, we and our pets were dying like right and left.. for the life of us we could not scratch this mob any more than a sliver of life. Is this normal? We were just so tired, decided to call it a night before we go totally broke. hehe But, still, I do not understand why we could not scratch this mob. If any of you have any idea what is going on, please let us know.

    Thank you for your time.

Dreadhorn loot can be pretty bad - then again, it can also have a Crimson Cincture (and on most shards, the ML crafting ingredient Taint is pretty rare). As it usually is possible for a 3-5 person group to take down Dreadhorn in about 5 minutes, the secret is to gather multiple sets of the 6 items to get in, turn in one key set at a time, and do several in a row, to improve your odds of getting something good.

While you were gone, a few years back, the champs got triple the original HP and other power/defense boosts. Semidar, in my experience, is one of the ones that seems to take forever, regardless of group size. I've been with a group in Ilshenar that fought her at Humility's spawn, and even with 5 GD, it took almost a half-hour to finish her off (partially from the fact that we had to deal with an occasional PARAGON succubus wandering in - normal ones are bad enough, if your attention is focused on Semidar and the Succubi target your dragon without you noticing). I swear, sometimes it seems like the boss spawns as a paragon - even outside of Ilshenar.

Hi, Basara, thanks for the reply. :)

If those deamons were indeed pc's morph'ed form, I would be surprised since the movement /reaction was totally ones' of npcs. besides spawn after spawn them deamons had that (SL) behind their names.

As for Semidar, it did not feel like she had a huge hp. It rather felt like she was immune to all the damage types. According to creature catalogue, she is supposed to have around 12k hp as opposed to dread horns 50k.. and her resists seem really weak but you just do not see her hp budge at all (other than slight red line you can see at the edge but soon it disappears like it fully regen'd.).

I searched the forum, and found one post posted about an year or so ago, mentionning the same thing about semidar. But, this person (his group/guild and the group before him that tried the same Semidar and utterly failed to scratch her.) didn't seem to have found the answer why this was happenning to their group either. (She was totally alone, we killed the succubi that was with her, and pulled her in to empty area. Hehe we needed her to be there, and stay put, so we could safely rez/heal our pets around the corner.).

Thanks for the tip on Dread Horn, Basara, appreciate it. :)
I guess it wasn't our lucky day. :/ Maybe we will give it another try at Semidar, and see if she is really like that all the time.

those Demons were NOT players! Quite a while ago all faction related monster had the related faction tag added to their names. Demons got SL for Shadowlords, Wisps have CoM, Ogre Lords have Min and Silver serpents have TB.

Why you went grey isn't completely clear to me, but just switch off the criminal warning message and go on. It doesn't really matter if you're grey until some evil minded blue comes along.

Semidar (and all other champs) have been buffed - i think it was pub 48, end of 07 - because they were too easy. Try a combination of discorder and archer, works fine.

Also, semidar will leech life from anything near her and heal herself. To negate this somewhat, necros should be in wraith form and mystics should be in stone form. Everyone else either needs to be female or polymorph female.

Yes, the "Whammy" (Wraith form necro-samurai) variation on the "Sampire" template is the only one I've seen solo her (of course, a female character, since that form and polymorph are mutually exclusive), though I think I've seen female Sampires on swamp dragons come close. The Leech templates (like the Whammy) tend to be much more Spirit Speak dependent than a standard Sampire, since the leeches (and spells like curse weapon) are SS-based.
