A few things i'd like to suggest...

    1.) Allow the barding skill, Provokation, to work on Doom bosses. This would be absolutly sooooo much fun. As it is now, the Dark Fathers are the only ones provokation works with (provoking the undead he spawns onto him - lots of fun to be sure!!). I'd like to make the other bosses fight each other - for example - Fleshrenderer vs. Fleshrenderer.

    *NOTE: Please keep the Barding Difficulty on bosses reasonable, I'd suggest no higher than 170.

    2.) Give players that heal other players and their pets a chance at getting a drop. When i say "a drop", i mean a chance to get Artifacts, PSs, pink & blue scrolls, and special items, etc. There is more to this than just pumping out damage; all rolls should get a far shake. Ka-peesh?

    3.) GREATLY REDUCE the chance a summoned creature has of being dispelled. What a pain in the hinder to cast your summons into battle only to have them poofed away in a matter of 10 seconds.. This suggestion is strictly for PvM. Spellweaving has a spell that increases the difficulty of summons being dispelled.. but.. i think its a crock that we'd have ta invest skillpoints into a skill for 1 bloody perk when we wanna put points in other skills.

    I'm glad we've had this little talk.. now how about some feedback, people?

    I so hated that but do agree. SW, magery, and necro spells should be by power should be on the same level. So castings summos and all shouldn't be a quick poof as soon as you do it. Just PvM speaking here also.

    Most of this looks like a way to have a char be able to stand alone and fight, if you want to take on hard creature gather a friend or two up, that is what they need to do make it more party / group oriented not solo play.

    Sorry but UO needs to have more critters that are almost impossible to kill, somethign along the lines of what the Ancient Wyrms used to be. exodus was a nice start but sadley, was exploited with bag balls (now fixed)

    I thought they already did #2, and you can boost summons (#3) with SW. Of course, if you're really that worried, just get Mysticism. You can clear out anything with a RC @ 120 mystic/focus, and they don't get dispelled quick enough, really. EVs take too long to cast...would be nice if cast time decreased and if they were balanced a bit more.

    I would suggest increasing skills cap to 800 or making skills like focus and meditation secondary skills.

    I agree that EVs and even blade spirits need some love.

    It is a bad thing if your trying to take community out of the game. I mean there's only what, .05% of the game that cant be solo'd as it is?

    Doom is soo easy, I dunno why we should make it easier? It hasn´t been changed for years but templates and equipment have become more powerful year by year...

    They are planning to revamp Doom and I would suggest the exact opposite of what has been posted here:

    1. Make the bosses harder and funnier to fight, give them more different AI. At the moment it is fairly simple to do a Doom-Run in several Minutes with some mates... Make it a REAL challenge!

    2. Give that place some additional deco. Its ugly. Add some nice deco as drops as well as some new stealables...

    3. Let all mobs and bosses drop revamp loot in their corpses, with chances for getting lesser, major, greater and legendary arties... Looting is absolutely pointless at the moment

    4. Let the bosses drop some improved Doom-Arties or allow imbueing the classic arties. Add some of those event items which aren´t obtainable anymore (e.g. Conjurer´s Garb)

    It SHOULD be a real challenge. A thing you pee your pants when you enter! A real HARD encounter. If it is changed that way, you have any reason to make it more profitable to go there. At the moment 80 % of the arties are crap. Doom has become boring, because it is far too easy. Make it funnier, harder, creepier, more rewarding...

    The more deathrobes, the more rewards :gee:

    You know why I think I am right? Regardless if I go there with 2 others or with a group of 5-10 people - I cannot remember I ever died there since a looooong period of time... The number of deathrobes is always a good indicator ;) There are places in this game nowadays which are much funnier, more exciting, more deadly and more rewarding...

    most shards have little to no community anyway...let's be honest. I wasn't meaning to take community just add a bit more flexibility when creating a template.

    Sorry, but this is simply wrong... I don´t know where you are playing, but I know for at least Atlantic and some other US-shards, Europa and even Drachenfels (my small home hard) that you can find hunting groups quite easily...

    I see the problem from the opposite perspective: You can solo 90 percent of all places in UO... There is no need to make Doom easier IMHO...

    What about a method of choosing your difficulty level? Let the rewards scale accordingly. You could even couple this with someone's request awhile back for a PvM arena being added to the game.

    Tamer, Mage, Discord and Peace with 828 total skills, 7 x 120 = 840 skill points. With 800 base skills I could have a 908 skilled char. I bet if I reworked it I could get even more. Would not be hard to get a 8 x 120 = 940 Tamer/Mage with Discord, Peace and Provo. WOW

    800 skill points has been asked for before - The answer was 'no' and the reason was 'balance issues'. I doubt very much that has changed.

    There are plenty of ways to be flexible on your templates. For instance, my main has 120 Magery/Mysticism/Spell Weaving/Focus 100 Meditation/Evaluate Intel and at any given point has either 100 Fishing/LP/Carto/Resist/Inscription. Soulstones are your best friend for being creative. That and building your suit (or maybe two) around your templates.

    I like hearing peoples suggestions.

    If you are careful and strategic, can't you get to 800+ skill points as it is already?

    Oh I know it probably takes a well thought out plan and a lot of work. Isn't that the reward of explorations and creative game play?

    Yes, you are correct. There are multiple viable templates for various things that can easily have 800+ skill points on it already.
    I spent quite a bit of time re-working my main char template to get it to what it is today, and I am very proud of it. Lots of trial and error, raise this lower that, no raise that back up, lower that one back down. It is very satisfying to have done this creatively and on my own. It is also very gratifying to have people ask, "How do you do that" etc.
