A fix for blackrocks and silly stuff

  1. Yeah... I play the parts of UO I like. So stop telling me to quit. Come join my vendor market.


    Come on Do I really need to play this event by also playing stratics? Do I need to really be chatting to find the blackrocks, wait for a DEV to turn it on, checking the boards to find them... Why? Can you create something a bit more interesting and novel. Why not have your area of concentration... great.
    Where the story needs them but...

    How about adding some random wandering spawn. Just pop them up all over here and there. A few, one... something. Get creative. Toss some in dungeons.

    Looting rights... How hard is it to fix this. Just implement this and be done with it.

    Let me help you out once again. All looting rights should be done in thirds and summed. 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 equals looting rights.

    The 1st third of the monsters hit points is scaled and all players get a rank. If you dont damage the 1st third, you get a zero.

    The 2nd third of the monsters hit points is scaled and all players get a rank.
    If you dont damage in the 2nd third, you get a zero.

    Same for the 3rd third.

    Thus a player coming in to kill the last third of life will have a rank of
    0 1st + 0 2nd + (whatever points) 3rd. They players not damaging through the monster from start to finish are at a loss.

    If a 1/3 isnt good enought do it by 1/4's. Thank You.

    No offense, but I think you need to walk away from the game for a while. It would potentially do you some good. Your posts have gone from hurray to bah humbug...*sighs*
  3. You know... we all say the same things 50 ways... and we still end up with the same problems.

    My frustration is split. I play and enjoy the parts I play.

    I don't candy down the crap they don't address anymore.

    So yea I might seem bah on 1 end. Yet I do play the parts I enjoy.

    Im just saying... time for the DEVS to put up a plan that doesnt inlcude cute bears, funky colors, massive changes that become irrelevant in 45 days, and put exploration back in the game.

    I appreciate your candidness and I do understand your plight. However, it seems to me that our team is doing what they can to make things go. Perhaps we may not always see it, but if you look hard enough you will see the wheels turning.

    For instance, Mesanna...you can find her within game more than I have ever seen ANY developer in the previous 10 years. I often see her more than I see people I know from RL that play! That alone tells me something.

    As for the rest, I can only imagine them being just as passionate behind the scenes as Mesanna is in front of the curtain. So, for the good or the bad...I support what they have going.

    Does this fix your issue? Not really, however I hope it gives a bit of hope. It isn't easy being frustrated in this game, especially after long grinds. Seems only fair of us to be patient, and see what the day will bring. If you don't see what you were looking for today...perhaps tomorrow. :grouphug:

    (example...new game...DC Universe...Valentines event with Catwoman...didn't happen yet...*clock ticks*...wut now? more grind while we wait? YEP!)
  5. No knock on the real people that are the DEVS. But the employees are working hard, I loved SA and High Seas. Very good.

    But the same fundamental flaw is happening in the DEVs approach... Their hard work becomes saturated and useless within 45 days. Im just saying shift some of that energy to creating a randomness in the land that allows one to explore and adventure without recall, act, rinse, repeat, recall... Not necessarily my ideas, but some of the great ideas out there.

    We are ending up with a more an more cumbersome game to learn and understand. The fix isnt a new class, 8 skills, new item properties... etc.

    Just my opinion. A paradigmatic shift. They are hard to achieve... mostly because I am not right or wrong... and everyone of us have a different opinion.

    The random monster spawn would be fun.

    Imagine taking the moongate to Moonglow to mug a few mongbats and finding a drake by the moongate. Do you flee, or wonder if your gonna live long enough to use that clean underwear in your backpack as you whip out your sword.

    Be duking it out with titans in Ilsh and the next spawn at their camp is a Slasher of Veils? Between you and the way out no less...

    Or on the other side of the coin, be hunting in a champ spawn and the final monster arrives, and is an ettin. ;)

    Would make life fun for scriptors farming something in an area their character can handle. Ogre Lords, no problem how many spawn, but a lich lord casting spells?, might have that bot farming in black & white.:thumbup:
