I have played UO forever....what seems like forever, but I do check out other MMO's here and there. I am not a big fan of WOW but I do really love the guild system there.

Just for being in a guild you gain more XP, the more gold you get a % is added to the guild funds, travel bonus's etc etc

    EXAMPLES FROM WOW
    Fast Track (Rank 1)

Experience gained from killing monsters and completing quests increased by 10%

    Mount Up

Increases speed while mounted by 10%. Not active in Battlegrounds or Arenas.

    Mr. Popularity (Rank 1)

Reputation gained from killing monsters and completing quests increased by 5%.

    Cash Flow (Rank 1)

Each time you loot money from an enemy, an extra 5% money is generated and deposited directly into your guild bank.

    Fast Track (Rank 2)

Experience gained from killing monsters and completing quests increased by 10%.

    Reinforce (Rank 1)

Items take 10% less durability loss when you die.

    Reinforce (Rank 2)

Items take 20% less durability loss when you die.

    Chug-A-Lug (Rank 1)

The duration of buffs from all guild cauldrons and feasts is increased by 50%.

    Mr. Popularity (Rank 1)

Reputation gained from killing monsters and completing quests increased by 10%.

    Working Overtime

Increases the chance to gain a skill increase on tradeskills by 10%.

    The Quick and the Dead

Increases health and mana gained when resurrected by a guild member by 50% and increases movement speed while dead by 100%. Does not function in combat or while in a Battleground or Arena.

    Have Group, Will Travel

Summons all raid or party members to the caster's current location.

    Bountiful Bags

Increases the quantity of materials gained from Mining, Skinning, Herbalism, and Disenchanting.

    Mass Resurrection (Rank 1)

Brings all dead party and raid members back to life with 35% health and 35% mana. Cannot be cast when in combat.

Theres alot more but it is a neat idea.

I would love in UO if they even added a feature where I can go to a town say GUILDBANK and it opens a sep bank box that members of the guild (with proper permission) can access

I would also love if they added perks to be in a guild. to promote group hunting, maybe a bonus to DMG in PVM if theres 2 or more guild members hunting together, maybe a PVP bonus to groups of 4 or more. These are just basic ideas.

Maybe you guys can post some ideas and MAYBE the dev's could add some (I dont care how small) bonus's for being in a guild.

So no one else thinks a small system with some incentives to guilds would be a nice add?

It would probably be nice. Sadly there are so many other things that, at least I, feel are a bit more critical right now. I guess I just figure it makes sense to spend dev energies elsewhere right now. It is a good system. It also seems like Ned is away and he is normally the one right up there championing ideas and coming up with good ones. I wish I had his energy. I am sure more folks will chime in though.

Even just a SMALL gold incentive per monster killed for being in a guild would be a start.

Yes but in my eyes how would they do that. Would they create a new character that has a bank box for guilds? Or would it be for alliances. I am no programmer but I think that might be more difficult then it sounds.

Well for just a gold bonus to the player for being in a guild just do a

#check on death of monster to see if that person is in a guild

If they are 10% more gold.

    etc etc

  8. i don't think forcing people to join a guild for incentives is the right route. it might work in WOW where everything is decided for you, but uo is all about personal choice.

creating incentives that affect game-play beyond communicating and seeing who's online forces players to join guilds. is that a good or bad thing? who knows.

could be interesting, but i have a toon on Izumo, likely to never hear English from someone, less likely to ever be in a guild there, anything for me?

Wouldn't there just be a lot of guilds of one member?
Anyone can make a guild right?
So if you put in a bonus, everyone makes a guild, some might even take the time to add their other characters on their multiple accounts, and everyone gets a bonus?
The only ones who wouldn't get the bonus are actual new players (assuming they exist) that don't know to make a guild for the bonus.

    Sounds a little half baked.

Now if the bonuses only helped the other members of the guild...maybe.
For example, if guild members could put in a set discount for other guild members on their vendors...or guilds could party more than 10 people...or guild members can be automapped on the current in game uo map...or guilds could summon "no-loot no fame no karma no skill gain" monsters of any kind for training or testing purposes. The guilds system could use some love, but tangible benefits like 10% more loot or such do not fly in my book.

I'd like to see guilds earn points for group hunts based on difficulty that they could then use or redeem at some center guild of guilds location for things like: guild house deco,

"renting" an arena for guild only duels,

a bump in Bod rewards or a chance at a bump for BoDs from the smithy for a set and limited duration

Maybe some type of specialized guild hunt, I posted an idea for a dynamic escort spawn on one of the major roads through Sosaria.

Of course this new loot system may make some of that not quite as profitable, but if you enjoy playing with others anyway, well, a little bonus is just icing on the cake.

Maybe they could do something with the "loyalty Ratings" as far as a guild-reward system could go, but I Also think there are alot of things that need fixing, and revamping before hand, not a bad idea tho.

Although I do believe if they implemented such a system, it shouldn't be "easy" to get these guild rewards and such.

I think its a great idea. Guild incentives would really boost the game experience. Giving benefits to guild members based on the guild achievements would be really so great.

    * Achievements based in members number

    * Achivements based on the Virtue level of their members:

    * Achievements based on special guild based Quests.

    * Achievements based on Guild treasure/resources adquired by members.

Each achievement could give the Guild Master acces to a especial Menu to activate the benefits, just some ideas

-Guild stables placed at Guild house by Guild Master.
--Guild stables advancements giving acces to new mounts

-Guild Forge a special forge granting bonus to armor crafting.
-- Guild Forge advancements granting acces to new bonus

-Guild Sanctuary giving acces to new spells for guild mages.
-- Guild Sanctuary advancements granting at each level a new spell or improve existing spells power.

As most of you I think there are many other things that need to be fixed first , anyway we can dream :)
