I think it is ridiculous that on a server where we don't have insurance things cost more. The low price of most things(such as a 120 mage going for 4m, a 120 everything else for about 1-2 max) The simple fact is Siege does not have duping problems, so money, resources, runics, etc are far less common. I would like to see many things done for the shard, in particular:

    -Increase replica/SoT drops
-Increase Martie/Peerless drops(Crimmys, totems, hotl, etc)
-Increase property %'s on items dropped, like has been done with runics.

But most of all, I think faction silver needs to be fixed. It seemed like a good idea(to one person) to increase the price of the items 5 fold, because it would make them rarer. In theory maybe a good thing, you don't want someone running around in an artied out suit 24/7. Plus, more silver cost = more time farming, PKers get something out of it too.

Unfortunately, the plan back fired in my opinion. Rather than increase the volume of players farming silver we just have a constant stream of player bound items passing between players for gold.

Die, pay 500k for suit. Kill, sell suit for 500k. This is the routine that has come about. The increased silver prices forced everyone into some kind of "Siege insurance" Care Bear hand holding phenom. But the problem is these is no loss on Siege anymore. We know we are getting the faction items back. The only time silver prices jump and people are farming it is when 1 of 2 things happens:

    - Sudden influx of players(as with M D and school restarting)
    - People throw a hissy fit and start trashing crap

So this is my idea, although I am not sure if it has been introduced exactly like this, I know variants of the system have been talked about:

-First, drop faction silver prices back to normal. One can get a suit for about 20k silver, give or take.
-Second, input a "silver insurance" policy. No I do not mean anything will be blessed, I would want for it to work like this:

Bob is wearing a faction suit which costs exactly 20k, so he is well geared. Orny, crystaline, crimmy, the whole shabang. Fred(also a factioner) runs up, and kills Bob. This is where my idea needs some fine tuning, but I think either one could be a success:

Idea #1: Fred is given 1/5 of the cost of all items related to factions Bob is carrying. In this case, about 4k(+cost of pots, faction runes, and whatever else). Deposited into his bank just as would be done if one killed someone for insurance money. The deposited into bank thing isn't a deal breaker, I just think it would be easier to code. The faction items disappear upon death. Bob is out 20k silver, but Fred now has 4-5k.

Idea #2: Fred kills Bob, and based on the items Bob is carrying, Fred is not given 1/5 of the cost, but a certain amount of silver based on the tier of items. Top tier 500, second 350, pots 50, etc. So long it is well under the amount originally paid. Items all dissipate.

The idea is that there is still incentive to fight, but factioners don't get a free ride with everything, just dying, and killing, then trading back or selling back for the exact same amount. It will put people back into farming silver, instead of hoarding items, and I legitimately think it would cut down on griefing.

    Opinions?

To stop the high price selling of Factions suits you must either increase the
supply of Silver or lower the price of the items making up the suits.

    Trash all the other ideas...

*shakes head* Bad timing for Uhall... Mythic is likely on holiday. They are going to be busy the several days as SA rolls out tomorrow. Just saying...

    here's another idea:

drop the silver charge for the faction items, remove the personalization and make them usable by anyone.

the only reason people go back to 'siege insurance' aka sell back items is because they can't use them themselves.

i also liked the cursed artifacts. i would suggest to increase their droprate, so everyone can afford loosing them in a fight.

don't get me wrong, i am not a big fan of making things easy as hell for farmers. as a matter of fact i would rather like to see all artis gone and go back to fighting with gm made equipment over the ideas above, but since that is very unlikely to happen i think what i said is an alternative.

the idea behind this all is the old risk vs reward system we used to have before blessed items and siegebless.

SA is rolling out SA the day after Labor Day? Did they learn nothing from EA's mistakes?

Hope its F2P with microtransactions.. I'd get back in to it if that were the case. Not worth $15/mo imo.

Problem with this, yet again, is the hoarding. Part of this plan is to get people into farming silver, and maybe prompt EA to open more silver farming spots.

i agree speedy something needs to be done and also i think we do need more silver spots.

it sux being in SL for silver gains we got:
    Ogre Lords LOL 2 spots
Wisps AGAIN LOL well theyspawn all over but only spawn in 1 spot with numbers
Silver serps which are cool but there is only 1 spot

Everyone else deamons. There are alot of spots for these, some are multiple spots in a single dungeon but still there are 9-10 spots

Personally, I see no need to increase any of that.

You lose your marties, tough, equip something else. Just because we don´t have insurance, doesn´t mean we should have increased drop rates just so we could always have backup marties/arties/whatever.

They´ve said that loot will be looked into (yeah, I know that means like in 2013) so we´ll have to wait until the whole game maybe gets a loot boost.

    Make that two persons.

Why should it be easy to get an overpowered suit? It should hurt losing it.

    *cough* Buybacks... *cough*

Start trashing them. Kill that person/guild enough times and trash them and you will have the upper hand perhaps. What´s wrong with ruling the shard?

Only reason more people isn´t trashing them is because they are afraid their suits will be trashed in return. I can understand that...

    What I said before.

I kinda like the ideas. Doesn´t matter which one as long as the items disappear upon death.

However, I see no reason to lower the silver prices.

You asked for opinions. Here´s one non-PVPers opinion... ;)

Simple things like speedy mentioned would definitely boost siege back up to what it once was. Unfortunately, its never going to happen because NOBODY CARES ABOUT SIEGE =(

The SoT boost would be great so NEW PEOPLE can play here. OMG! Isn't that what we've wanted for ****ing ever? Wait, this is siege! IT HAS TO BE IMPOSSIBLE TO START HERE, right?

Silver prices dropping would be great too. I don't know about you guys, but I detest standing out front of King Edward's house for 45 minutes because he's afraid to lose his suit he spent 2 weeks farming for. Another thing that makes me laugh is that AFKing this **** is a bannable offense.

I loved SP, which is why I still post here, but ****, why not play elsewhere *easy to start there* and have 10x more fun with custom systems like CTF/PvP Island?

After SA fails and everyone breaks their **** trying to imbue (after 2 months of training the skill of course) - shoot me a PM =)

Just a quick FYI on silver,

It is now "available" from threads of thought/life and fate. Each thread is worth 100 silver in turn in points for armour.

So, you now have a new area to farm silver. :)

A faction Orny cost 25,000 Silver.... That means you would have to farm 250 threads. It's not really worth it considering the drop rate on the threads.

I dunno, in one day(about 6hours of play) before the cloaks dropped on a necro with a demon guarding me to kill the corrupteds and hitting exorcise in a certain spot where the forsakens keep walking back and forth i got well over 1k threads of thought, thats 100k silver...slightly faster than demons?

Admitadly this was uninterupted with no attempted Pk'ing and of course it cant be done afk

Where do the threads come from?

A single spot, making it easy to farm the farmers I hope?

    Magincia...all over the town.

  18. I'd suggest that everyone just throw captured faction items in the trash. Seems much simpler.

Do they pop into your pack, or lootable?

I killed a few of those corrupted things before, but they didn't seem to have anything lootable.

I always said that their should be a turn in. Turn in someone elses faction artis and get back half the silver. Would solve alot of problems and pretty much end buy backs. Non faction people could still turns stuff in for silver and than sell the silver.

Speedy is correct something needs to be done.

Aislin, how many resists are there per GM piece nowadays, with arms lore?

If the resists were balanced evenly, what resists would a full suit get you?

it's bloody ponderous putting together a 70s suit of pure GM armor. You can't compete without artifacts and unlike faction artifacts, they are not easy to replace.

You only need a full 60s suit, what with curse dropping resists to 60 anyway.

    Unless that's changed.
