about KR/SA client (last FoF)

    Are there significant changes in how SA handles macros vs KR? Will there be any pass to unify the way SA and 2D clients handle macros so make it easier for people to convert?

    This is still a work in progress. So far, we’ve added a legacy targeting mode which makes the new client perform much more like the “2D client” in terms of the way you choose to attack other mobs. We’ve also made a special category in the actions window for the “2d client” targeting actions that you guys are familiar with. We still have a few things we would like to get added but I can’t promise they will all make it in before launch:
    1.Provide a set of pre-fabricated macros for reference
    2.Add more tooltips to help guide the user in macro creation
    3.Being able to insert and remove actions from the middle of a macro
    4.Being able to import legacy macros into the new client
    5.Being able to export/import macros in the new client

    LOL, does this mean we get another PR client(Premature Birth)

    if the new UI and macro system is NOT ready, then the whole release is NEEDLESS
    WE dont need another unfinished unplayable client.

    IF u still NEED hints how to make the new macrosystem, then take a look on the all so loved 2D user script programm,if the new KR/SA client cant COMPARE to those scripts,then u never ever can force the majority of players to use the NEW client, it will be abandoned the same way as KR is now

    stop posting useless new kr pictures, people DONT wait for new pictures, they want
    a COUNTERPART against the scripter scum !

    1.) We're how many months away from release? Yeah, ofcourse its unfinished.
    2.) Having a bunch of premade macros that are used to emulate a legacy client isn't in my opinion a very high priority. If you need that stuff, you're most likely going to set it up yourself.

    Right now KR can do about 95% of the stuff in UOA, and KR is far from an abandoned client. I doubt they need help on how to develop a game they've been working on for years. :) Nor do I think you can say what everyone wants, thats quite rude.

    I didn't think it was that close at all. That's why I don't play KR. I never can get the same fluid actions of macros with KR as I can with 2d and uoassist. I don't even use that many uoassist macros.

    Think it's just me? I don't think so.

    I find the KR macro system to be far more intuitive and usefull than the 2d macro system.

    You can do a ton of stuff with KR's interface. It's just different than 2D's.

    The SA client is simply the KR client updated and renamed. It will still be using the same game engine as the KR client (Gamebryo), it will just have another year to year and a half worth of development put into it based off of feedback.

    I demand the new KR/SA UI/Macrosystem NOW
    Dev´s, publish it,give it in the hand of the UO-Modders
    let them do it RIGHT.
    i dont trust u dev´s, i fear u will trash it again.

    give the modders the tools they need to finish it professional !

    the modders did more helpfull things in the past then ure whole team did.

    we are now around 10 weeks bevore beta release, so u have NO time for experiments or
    try and error.

    i forsay, the UI and macrosystem will be the decision of success or failure of KR/SA


    So, release the UI/Macrosystem first, then u have enough time to rebuilt the gargoyle art again and again and again.........

    it should look feel and function exactly the same as the 2d client, AND run as efficiently on a mid-level computer system... with UOAssist compatibility, OR all of the UOAssist functions built-in...
    all of that, plus the nicer looking graphics that are needed to draw new players in...
    It needs to have all of those things or else it will be just another failed attempt at a new client.


    Since they're starting with the KR client, I'm not too confident they'll be able to pull it off...

    Der Rock - 10 weeks isn't enough for change? I can tell you're a true game developer. ;) And you're still generalizing the opinion of people, tsk tsk.

    Radun - I'd disagree, it should perhaps be similar, but exact, take the time to give it a chance. There are major issues with the way the 2D macro system works. Overall KR's has been better, its just people don't want to get past that they can't do their old bypasses.

    2D's macro system sucks compared to KR's honestly, so don't downgrade it just to please the people that refuse to play something different.

    KR is better than 2D alone for macros, but not better than 2D with uoa. Especially for creating things like multi-craft macros such as making a potion keg.

    However where KR really fails for many people is the overly complex yet totally inadequate targeting system and the weird placement of items in the 'legacy' back pack that everyone stocking or shopping from vendors needs.

    I have tried, with much frustration, to place things where I want them in the back pack, they just don't go where you aim for!

    I have tried to use a 'target friendly' macro to vet my pet, but the target switches mid bandy!
