This has to be FRIDAY 13th !!! All my macros vanished after receiving that new huge patch this afternoon. I have a few 12th year accounts, but a computer geek I am not!! help? :stretcher:
    When I
Log in: all characters on numerous accounts have lost most macros.
Try to rewrite macros or Log out - I get this same message:
'couldn't open file for writing: etc'

    Found this link 10 30 2009: http://vboards.stratics.com/showthread.php?t=165726&highlight=macros+-could+-open+file+for+writing

Will have to try suggestions made there if there is no simple solution.

Just can't understand why downloading that patch should create such a big problem. I have a second older computer on which I can't even play the game since downloading Stygian Abyss. So I am scared to uninstall and reinstall the game by downloading SA again since I don't have a back up disc in a box for SA. I would probably run into a problem with trying to use the code again to prove I purchased the SA download. I suppose I could use an older version of UO to start and download all the patches again but how does that put SA back on my computer? :dunce: hahahaha I need someone right here to show me how to do things.

My usual way of handling computer problems worked again. Rebooted the computer a few times and then when that didn't work, turned the computer off, hoping it would heal itself overnight.

    It did. :coco: Go figure!

:stir: - - goes back to finishing halloween 2009 before it ends

(posted this in UHall also, but thought it best I also post it here too as a conclusion to this thread)
