Used to be able to loot other peoples kill in fellucia and go grey, now you cant. I got annoyed when my guild and I did a barracoon, and my champ killer did 90% of the damage and I couldnt get looting rights. What the heck?!

Is it me or does anyone else thing we should go back to the old looting rights in fel. You can freely loot any monster corpse, but go grey for looting ones you didnt kill.

You're right. It's one more nerf to a playstyle that other games are promoting while EA continues to nerf.

As a Trammel player, I agree that Instanced corpses should NOT Have been a part of the Fel or Siege rulesets.

They need to revert Fel/Siege corpses back to the open loot, "go grey" system.

You can loot other people's kills in Fel. You just have to wait a few minutes for the corpse to transform itself into "public" status.

In Fel there is great freedom in the system - you're always free to try to kill the guy for his part of the loot! He's probably not going to get rezzed and make it back the corpse before it goes public so.... yeah.

I feel like the instanced loot works fine in Fel and doesn't serve as a trammification of it (if I may use that word). It's there as a convenience for people who are killing stuff together and want the loot divided up in a way that makes sense.

If you explicitly want to share the loot regardless of who did what damage, you could always party. I believe that partying even after the monster has died lets you loot corpses all the same (for those who are trying to not mix their luck around).

they nerfed thieves with this change, one more insult to a player base.

  7. Absolutely.

Such rules changes have NO place in Felucca. :-(

Makes me miss cheesing the tamers in the Lich Lord Room in Deceit back in the day by stealing all the loot from their kills.

Yes, you can loot after a few mins, but in that time all the decent stuff is gone, and insured so killing the looter wont do much good. You have to wait a good two-three mins to loot a monster before it goes public. This rule should have only been in trammel... Should be fair game in fel.

That instanced corpse thing in Felucca ruleset was stupid from day 1. I don't see why I would be supporting it now.

Even worse, looting a corpse in town is a guard whackable offense!!! What happened to just going grey?

This is EXACTLY why the existing implementation is good in BOTH Fel and Tram.

You're saying that you should be able to stealth or run up up and snatch loot off of someone's kill in the PVP zone without actually having to fight them for it? That's straight up griefing, not PVPing and not anything valuable or good. Such a thing would more correctly belong in Trammel, not Fel!

If you want to steal someone's loot off of a monster you need to start attacking them as soon as the monster dies so that they won't loot. There's totally nothing wrong with that setup, anything else would be lame.

I don't play or have a thief, but I would submit that calling a valid playstyle lame is...well, lame. Fel isn't just about PvP; it's about more freedom in general than there is in Tram. I don't even think there is such a thing as 'griefing' in Fel; it's all fair game. Don't want a thief to get your stuff then loot it fast and head home or to the bank.

    I don't see where it's a valid playstyle to:

-- Be a stealther. Watch someone else do PVM. When the monster dies, open the monster corpse and loot the person's loot quickly and then run away and hide before they can kill you or necessarily attack you.

That doesn't belong in any game like UO. That's not a playstyle, it's a malfunction.

It IS a part of the Fel playstyle (or at least WAS until instanced corpses) I can see going grey and being revealed when you DO gank someone else's loot from a corpse, and then the chase is on, but Instanced corpses really don't belong on either Fel or Siege.

In Trammel, they are fine (actually very distinctly warranted), in Fel, not so much.

Dealing with stealthers is a part of the Fel playstyle which used to be MUCH MUCH more cutthroat than it is today.

Being stealth-ninja-looted is NOTHING compared to what the "evil" side of UO players used to be able to do. Yes, Felucca needs a lot of repair to entice players to WANT to play there, but let's not yet turn it into Tram. Maybe if they can make Factions better AND allow free for all looting and other risks we can talk about it, until then, let Fel be Fel and Tram be Tram.

The moongate, thus choice, is nearby.

My guess is that this change was made to encourage folks to join factions and/or in anticipation of activities that are part of the ongoing story. We still have yet to see what Draconi meant when he said there would be rewards for participating in the event while in factions. Of course, perhaps they meant they'd be fixing faction crafting. But I'm guessing we're going to have some additional fighting going on in Fel and they didn't want to hear a lot of complaining about super-fast looting of corpses.

I'm just guessing though...could be completely off base. Maybe someone should bring up the issue again late this week when Draconi has returned from Japan so he can perhaps tell us if this change is indeed event-related.

  20. Unfortunately, it is not a recent change. :-\

They dumped instanced corpses on us at the same time as E-Z looting, and right around the same time as insurance. In Felucca.

    Circa...AoS?

Hmmm....I guess I thought you were talking about a change with regard to looting in Fel that was made in a recent publish. Darned if I can't find the details now. Will keep looking.

It was post AOS, it was a little after Paragons were introduced in Ilshenar. Mainly it was due to complaints about people ninja-looting Paragon chests (doing just enough damage for rights then grabbing the chests). Mind you this is when the chests were new and impressive.

Instead of limiting it to Trammel facet where it makes sense, they made it a global change which was wrong for Fel.

I have no real respect for the behavior either, so don't get me wrong here. That being said, UO has always been about a myriad of choices. Don't like stealthers? Cast reveal or train detect hidden. It's all about the choices.

Quoted like a true trammel player. I hate thieves. They annoy the **** out of me, but there is a space for them in uo. Its part of that risk/reward of fel that should have been left alone. I dont think looting a kill is griefing. I mean would you rather me loot the items I want, or KILL you every time I see you working a spawn or killing stuff in a dungeon. Thats what has come down to. Every time i see a blue in fel dungeon, i auto attack. I guess thats just me griefing....blame the devs for that one.

I guess it's not too secret I don't play Fel, but IN FEL, should there be any rules about looting ANYTHING? Jesus, it's a friken combat zone, people.

Shh... don't look now, because while I'm arguing you vehemently in another thread, you might want to clutch your chest now, because I completely and totally agree with you here.

Instanced looting has NO place in Felucca. You want to risk going gray, go for it.

Between you and me, though, I'm betting they still haven't resolved a ton of Feluccan flagging issues, and probably have no clue how to have separate rules regarding facet-based looting. And it's a bloody shame. There are aspects of Felucca that should NEVER change, and THIS is one of them. Sadly, it does go to show how little the DevTeam cares about PvP in the game -- well, that, and the completely useless faction system, but here's hoping that actually gets better.

I would agree if there was no insurance so that you could kill the person who looted your item to get it back.

But with insurance, you still end up losing the item.. now with that said, there really is no item that you would get from loot that is even worth looting, so in the end I don't really care if they changed the rules in Fel.

After all, Artifacts are in Tram and Power Scrolls are cursed anyway.

champs give highest level loot i think. also some guilds will designate someone to come in with a full luck suit on to kill the champ.

it is felucca. if you raid a spawn you should be entitled to the loot. it is silly the way it works right now and really it is a bug not a political issue. the bug needs to be fixed. it has been in the game over a year maybe even 2 years and the developers have not fixed it. shame on them.

I don't disagree here, but if it's a spawn then who ever wins the spwan and kills the champs does get looting rights.

If you just raid and dont win the spawn then you wont be able to loot the champ anyway, cause the people who worked the spawn, and kept you out of it, will get to loot it.
