All Potion weights have been increased to 2 stones :(

    I cannot quite see the point of this change except it is to reduce the amount of potions carried in pvp.

    but i think not that the ones making the potions (alchemists) and the ones using potions for stuff like plants should suffer for this reason.

    if the goal is less potions in pvp then increase the timer instead please.

    Anyone agree?

    This is on test center.
    I'm not sure what effect this will have on plant growers. What will be the weight of full kegs? I water my plants from kegs, not bottles.

    Oh, I really hope they don't go through with this. Besides my gardening, it will affect my pvmer who uses up to 80 pots during a SA mini champ.
    My pvper doesn't carry many as I know he will die anyway.

    No, they're trying to meet the constant and incessant demands from pvpers for 'balance'.

    Which date from way before AoS btw.

    I only take out 15 of each pot when PvP'ing. If i need more i take them from the dead or recal home.

    This wont do anything to the state of PvP other than make people run home more ofter and disrupt the fighting even more. As it stands PvP only last for 3-5 minutes then a 20 minuet break due to the faction 20 stat loss.

    I am thinking this will annoy/hurt/nerf the Alchemists and Gardners more then it will ever annoy/hurt/nerf the PvPers.

    Often Gardners carry one each kegs potions with ... which will be impossible if they push this through.
    If not maxxed strength, I am guessing many won't even be able to carry the 2 really needed kegs with.

    I myself work with bottles, if I didn't just tone down my gardening somewhat, I know this change even then would have annoyed me much.

    As a friend said to me, maybe it is better to put a cool down timer on them then to increase the weight.

    Been on Test to check. Kegs weigh the same. I even made a new keg and filled it to be sure.
    only when in a bottle does it weigh 2 stone, and actually, it's logical that a full bottle should weigh more than an empty one.

    this is not a balancement, is a way to bring people to avoid potions... in other ways to chance template because you are not strong enough (with 150 str) to keep enough potions...

    I want they put 10 stones weight on spellbook then so it's more balanced :|

    I don't understand why when they balance the pvp, is the pvm to pay the price and being nerfed :(

    It won't affect my plant growing at all. Most of the plants are done in character backpacks with a greater cure keg, greater poison keg, and an endless decanter added in. The greater heal, greater strength, and additional full kegs are in a barrel naxt to the alchemists bench in easy reach. The roof plants are done by carrying 2 kegs and the decanter upstairs. I have to go down and get a couple bottles of heal & strength on occasion, but other than that, it's all kegs.

    I have my characters eat an orange petal if they get poisoned so there's no real need to carry more than a couple bottles of Greater Cures.

    Only thing it will limit is my alchemist's hunting with greater explosion potions.

    Potions need to a quick buff and not a crutch. The only template that should complain is the PVM PVP alky. But then they just can make them on the fly and leave nothing usefull to loot.

    AS far as crafting and plants if the kegs are same then no big deal. If players are going to have an epic battle then the side with the better supply line will win.

    Death of a sampire? Are you kidding me? If you use that many potions on your sampire then "you're doing it wrong".

    Like this is going to make any difference to anyone. Nearly everyone I know has built their stats around a 50ep set of jewels and making str/dex hit max. Every runs UOA and can see weight. The only thing this might do is reduce the amount of pots I'll loot but it will increase the amount of empty pots I'll drop on the field.

    I'll second the pot/sampire, mine never uses a single one, evah. I could see buffing up if you needed but really that temp doesn't need it.

    depends what you're gonna do :p
    20 + 20 + 20 + 50 = 110 stones (now)
    then will be 220 stones
    + bring some slayers and other items
    = overload when cursed or unable to loot anymore
    Just now I'm able to loot only 20k before being overloaded, then I'll being unable to loot without waste thousand of bag of sending charges...

    Useless to say in pvm a character unable to loot is like a dragon without breath...

    Isn't this what made LJ become a mule skill? and the Huge nurf to the Soul seeker? Since they already have policy (working rules) for tram & Fel, why can't changes like this be Only Fel/Factions?
    PVM'rs are mostly Tram right? We need our rules, they need theirs, it's the whole risk/reward thing. If we start having to follow pvp rules, then we need something back. I think a nice trade would be having Tram monsters follow the same spell casting rules as players.

    I don't pvp, and I don't use potions, so I'm not really affected much, but I get sick and tired of having My game being changed 'cause of crybaby pvp'rs. As well there needs to be pvp/pvm 'balance' too.

    as a plant grower... i always targeted a stack of potions in a secure container. I never tried to carry them in my pack too.

    as a pvper.. it will suck to carry less but the shatter potion will become much more effective

    Empty bottles or bottles filled with potions weighed the same, which does not make sense. If something is filled with something, it should weigh more.

    Obviously they are not fixing this for weight consistency, but for balance. A lot of PVPers would load up on 50, 75 or 100 of each potion and run around spamming their potion macros. It is especially annoying for refresh potions.

    This shouldn't affect people growing plants of alchemists crafting potions. You are already in your house and can always pick up or drop off more from a secure container.

    It will effect PVM. They shouldn't suffer for PVP changes. In order to balance PVP they will need to sacrifice PVM unless they decide to put seperate codes in. Im sure they must of realised this by now.

    quick solution: open the felucca green acres, put the pvp rules in there only like a quake arena and leave the pvm as is. Who pvp outside the green acres will play with pvm rules :p

    What if the developers also want this change to balance PvM? Increasing potion weight means you need to more carefully choose how much you want to bring because that means you will have less room for loot.

    Everyone just stop whining pots aren't needed in PvM anyway. This is why the devs are so afraid to change anything that effects the trammies...because they get on forums and cry non-stop. :sad2:

    I don't agree with your assessment. Pots have never been a large part of most sampire's repetoir. Honoring multiple foes acts as total refresh. Healing pots are not necessary with life leech. Some sampires use curse weapoon for additional life leech or even use bandages. Garlic based cure pots don't work in vamp form and you don't need to cure poison anyway as you just leech through it.

    I'm not saying sampires can't use pots, but I don't think most do. I know I've never used a pot on any of my sampires. So I'd hardly say this breaks their effectivness.

    In PVM potions are dramatacaly used in high end fighting. Every completed template uses them. Sampires to a lesser extend as they can't use cure. But a extra heal and refresh boost works wonders as when all high end monsters are difficult to defeat with sampire alone without extra boost. Not to mention stat increase potions which are used immensly during long battles, Invisibility potions are a life savor and the others work well for other situations.

    Potions are barely used in low end fighting but for anything high end potions are needed. Don't know why people say they just get on there sampire and leech to win against highend as without stat boost potions.heal potions for those 1 hit moments invisibility when you need a break and refresh for the boost after the one hit moments those sampires will be dead this goes for everyother template out there used for pvm especially cure.

    Doubtful. Loot is not really a issue reason why they lower the gold weight and ofcourse made most items useles to pickup anyway. It's like the pvp division doesnt consult with the pvm division and right now the pvp division are calling the shots. Which looks like they always got to be reminded there are at least more than three times the number of PVM players in UO than PVP players and the pvp players have the loud speaker. Well at least there were. with the many substandard changes and nerf to PVM playstyle the last couple of years they must of losed a good amount of PVM subscriptions or at least thats how I hear it on the grapevine.

    Hes not that bad. Hes a old highend. All new highend after him trump him. Pretty much his difficulty is in the PVP challenge there while the others difficulty is themselves or trying to get to them. Not sure if they buffed him up since last I challenged him but i used to mess with him back in his earlie years. though getting the chance to solo him was the most difficult part too many people waiting 2 announce his appearance.

    There is no PvM developers versus PvP developers. The same people make decisions for both areas. Obviously they considered how this would affect PvM and decided it was still worth the change. So when you complain the developers didn't think about how this would affect PvM, it is pointless because they know they did. If you are concerned about PvM you should explain why it affects you other then "oh no, potions weigh more".

    A full keg and the 100 bottles needed to empty it weigh more than the 100 potions you get from it. With this change - they weigh the same, which is stupid. Potions should weigh 3 stones each, IMO.

    An empty bottle weights the same as a bottle filled with potion. With this change, potions weigh more which makes sense.

    You can stack tens of thousands of potions. You'd need hundreds, no wait thousands of kegs to equal that.

    Poisoning is useless because of the number of cure potions people can now carry. Before stacking they were limited by the 125 item limit of a backpack. Now it's the 400 stone weight limit, instead. Once upon a time, poisoning in PvP was about out lasting your opponents stock.

    On and on.

    This change makes sense. There's something to be said about :sad2: for more easy mode. Things like mount stamina were lost. Things like not pushing through monsters was lost. Things like actually having keys to your home were lost.

    Oh how immersion has suffered at the hands of the forums loud minority.

    This change makes sense.

    I think changing weight effects PvMers more than PvPers. But still, even at 2 stones you can carry 50 GAgil / 50 GStr @ 200 stones np (for Sampire) ... and in PvP, maybe you can't carry 50 of all pots anymore ... but that isn't that bad of a change. Now you have to choose. Do you go 25 all (lol) or do you specialize? :p

    But bottles have been 1 stone since I started playing (1999) ... I really think it's a poor bandage type of change rather than a balance. If pots are too powerful, nerf pots in PvM and PvP.

    Coming from someone who has never PvP'd in the X number of years they've played the game.
