    Hmmm...there is troll in the amusing, vaguely annoying pest sense, and there is troll in the sense of a toxic, truly defective subform of human life. What is discussed in that article is in the category of the latter, and the world certainly doesn't need it IMO.

    From the article:

    "Technology, apparently, does more than harness the wisdom of the crowd. It can intensify its hatred as well."

    It is appalling that people would take something tragic like a teenage suicide and then harass the grieving parents with prank calls designed to cause them additional pain.

    Whatever can be used for good, can potentially be used for evil, because people are free moral agents. It is sad what some choose to do with their freedom.
