Always extremely hungry, is that normal ?

Has anything changed about feeding ?

I have noticed that I am always extremely hungry and that even if I fed my character full, it only lasts a very short time and eventually in a short time I get again extremely hungry.

Now, this for a dexer may be a problem because it reduces the stamina regeneration and thus the ability to swing faster.

Is there a way to deal with it other than consuming enormous amounts of food ?

    Thanks.

Just stop eating and you won't notice. Food is a useless commodity in UO (for players) unless you eat rather than use stam potions.

Why "rather" ? Why not "both" ?

I mean, taking stamina potions when hungry or when full has the same effects ?

I noticed that my stamina regen seems to be faster if I am full rather than hungry....

Just be careful what size of Coke you order in Trinsic. That governor has banned full mug sizes, but goblet size is ok.

The last time i didn't feed my vendor for a week, he hid my items from the database and sold all of my stuff for 75% of what I had listed it for. Be careful!! Eating is serious business.

Always hungry on my warrior.. never on the mage. Has to do with stam loss.. or something. But being one of those well superstitious players gotta always have the fish in ur bag lol.

Is that why my chars are so lean? A diet of fresh fish?

So, swinging a lot needs food. If the warrior uses up food much more than the mage, then stamina makes good use of it.

Now, this taken into consideration, should the warrior be always hungry, with no food to fuel the stamina consumption, what happens to the stamina regeneration rate ?

My feeling, looking at the bar, is that when fully fed the stamina regeneration seems to look faster than when hungry......

We need a dev to step in and tell everyone the definitive answer to this. I hear one way then another. I thought some time ago they said that eating did absolutely nothing except for your roleplay.

They did, more than once I am pretty sure. The ONLY thing eating (non magic food) does for you is replenish your stamina. Being full has no effect on your character, being starving has no effect on your character. It's just for RP.

I have a feeling that my stamina regeneration rate is faster when I am full rather than when I am hungry (that is on warrior dexer).

I wished I had a stop watch to measure with some precision the regeneration rate while swinging when full or when hungry (of course without assuming potions or spells and nothing else) so as to verify this......

Actually, it wasn't a superstition. According to Page 38 of my UO Second Age Playguide, it says this.
    "EATING
You cannot starve, but if you are feeling "hungry" your performance may suffer.
If you double-click on a food item it will disappear - you just ate it. Eating restores a bit of lost Stamina, but more importantly it influences your healing rate for both Stamina and Hit Points. An empty stomach will result in a slow healing rate."

That is what the guide says, but it was never implemented. There was a long discussion a few years back and the developers confirmed it did not affect any regen or other game play.

But... there are players who doubt the developers word... and they have been wrong on occasion.

Sadly I am one of the, you can't convince me eating doesn't affect my character somehow' people. I get popps "feeling" that there is a difference. Maybe it is just mind over matter but having 100 fish steaks is standard starting gear before heading out. And we use to eat if we warriors failed recalling too many times.
