I've been away for a bit and wanted to see if the devs mentioned any changes for runic crafting. Like weapons having resist. :coco:

Nope. the only way to get a weapon with a resist, is for it to be a part of the loot from a monster.
Even with the, soon to come, imbuing skill you will not be able to add resists to weapons or damage modifiers to armor.

Well, there were a bunch of runic changes in February 2008, and there's more changes for crafting coming with Stygian Abyss.

    As for resists on weapons....

Still get them, but I don't understand where people think having them is odd.

If you look at gaming in general, the idea of resists/armor attributes on weapons goes back a THIRD OF A CENTURY now, to D&D's Defender (plusses could be used for defense to improve armor class) & Frost Brand (fire damage effectively reduced to 1/2 or less when wielding weapon from combination of improved saving throw and damage reduction) Swords.

For that matter, it goes back hundreds of years in legend and literature. Note that Excalibur (or its scabbard) had anti-damage or defensive properties, as did several other weapons, like Durendal.

Granted, the property should be RARER than it currently is in game, but it's not as nonsensical as you think.

The problem I see with having the resist on the weapon is that if you change out your weapon for a different slayer or faster weapon you likely won't have that resist property on the new weapon. So either you have to take that hit on your resist or build your suit to all 70s and ignore the resist mod which makes the mod useless. It just doesn't make sense to me.

My bad. Went back and looked at some of my runic crafted weapons and sure enough..... there were a couple with resists. I must have confused it with something else. I am pretty sure my mind is going as time goes by.
Again, I apologize for my error.
