Lots of flooding in her area of Tennessee. I hope she's just taking a little break and not swimming in her living room!

The Weather Channel is calling it "catastrophic" flooding. :(

    We are alive.

We are very stressed since we have not slept all weekend long due to sirens going off from all the tornados etc. Flooding is all over the tri-state area of Miss. Tenn. and Ark. Over 12 inches of rain +++ homes some destroyed by tornados or flooding, few lives lost but it could have been lots more with even straingtline winds going over 130mph even at 3am last night. :( I had not gotten to log in since late thurs till earlier this afternon, thurs is when this mess all began and kept up all weekend long more sirens more tornadic activity more flooding rains, we were already saturated from last weekends downpours !

Millington flooded ie naval air station north of Memphis. They evacuated up there. Street south of here cars were floating downstream too.

Our den, lowest room in our home, was flooded some, my garden of tomato plants are drowned, our Florida room is full of buckets catchin water still seeping from the skylights *ie built in patio*...but thankfully every time a siren went off the tornados hit ground.. elsewhere ...ie not Southaven, Ms., it may be soggy but our home is still standing nicely.

I did log on to hatch my chicken lizards and water game plants least they were DRYING OUT...only dry plants I think we will be seeing in game ones for the rl ones will be for days to come yet drowned, till all this rain water leaves us all in this tri state area.

Hopefully we get to SLEEP tonite without racing for shelter nor hearing sirens, two weekends in a row Miss. Tenn. Ark. been hit too hard here with torential downpours tornados and damages. :( Right now we are so stressed out from hearing tornado sirens atop our heads one after another after another we just want some SLEEP without sirens and danger.

Thousands of people were evacuated by the Memphis police last night too, the lull that permitted Beale Street music fest to go on briefly...was shut down right before Alice in Chains was to go on stage. The Memphis police did a great job getting all those people into their vehicles and OUT of the area last night too, between tornado sirens.

Memphis in May........festival began last weekend with Southaven Spring fest, ruined cuz of last weekends tornados, and now.......this weekend more of the same but worse even for us all in this tri state area.

Tonite we just want to sleep without .....sirens or seeing people in cars...float downstream !

*comically with my timing, hubby managed to get in a beer run between sirens blasting and before bullfrog corner went under water south of here where they sell the beer he needed* :) I had my watch on timing everything lol ! HE made it got the beer and back, in a temp. sunshine heating it up like more tornadic soup, and right before the next siren went off.:)

Today there will be officials out and about calculating the damages all over the place. This morning's news mentioned Memphis lost 7 fire trucks caught in the high waters tryin to rescue folks. Chunks of interstate 40 between Memphis and Nashville are gone. Down here parts of hwy. 51 and 55 are missing, also washed out from flooding/flash flooding and high wind damages.

All of this will no doubt take em quite a while to assess all the damages all over the tri state area of TN. MS. and ARK.

Some schools are closed today, no roads to get to those particular schools or a particular school is still under water somewhat. Our schools down here, top of Mississippi, just south of Memphis, are in session today, no issues for our schools here, per say, least the roads to the schools are still open and not destroyed due to flooding, etc. When the rain flowing off your rooftop looks like you are looking from behind a waterfall out your windows, for the duration of all weekend long, it is not a good thing. :(

Had we not had torrential rains and tornados LAST weekend saturating the area with water, the slow moving moisture laden tornadic front that sat on us all spawning tornados and torrents of rain all of this weekend, just sitting over us the entire weekend, till it moved eastward, finally, may not have gone so badly as it had.

QZ, I am glad you are ok. Is there anyone else in that area who we should be concerned about?
