Archer Mage temp?

    Outside of the fact that you now have 2 ranged attacks, it's still a tact mage meaning you can't stack specials with spells. Bows also shoot slowly esp with low dex (because all your points will be in int) so I'm not seeing a reason to use Archery on a mage. This might be ok for PvM or soemthing to mess around with but nothing serious for PvP.

    You're far better off replacing archery and tactics with necro and spirit speak. If you don't like the necro there's also wrestling and (enter other skill here). Scribe mage, Nox mage, parry mage, or spellweaving which is nice for PvM and group PvP at spawns.

    Between the dex requirement needed to shoot bows at any reasonable speed and the inability to use specials and spells together makes for a really lopsided template.

    I played that exact template, some time ago on Origin. I PvPed and did quite well. That was before the ability to use specials toggled along with spells, was removed.

    I used a SCNP shortbow, for the shot speed and the lightning special, also had a SCNP repeater with 20 or 30 swing speed, for when I fought mages.

    The template was awesome for 1v1, as most people take off running when they are getting owned, I could poison them and chase em down with the repeater.

    I have a necro mage, inscribe mage, sw mage and wrestle mage...

    I wanted something that not to many people rock and make it work. Archer mage was what i was thinking.

    Imma have to play on test to see how it does.
