Another method for decent gains in either Archery or Tactics above 100 skill is to spar a friend or guildmate who also has high skill. (It helps if they hold a magic weapon that increases their Archery or Tactics, depending on which skill you are working.)

Taking into account that rate of successful accuracy coupled with rate of fire is the best method to gain, a repeating crossbow with swing speed increase is a good weapon to use to gain skill quickly. At this point, damage does not matter. If hit chance increase jewelry is added, the rate of gain jumps exponentially. So, hit chance jewels + repeater + correct level of spawn = happy, gaining archer.

well, I am not sure about the accuracy of the entire list, but one thing was wrong. Orcs are great to shoot at any time, and any level.
Especially if their name starts with "Mo"

Heres a real easy answer. Get two jewls to pop you up to thirty, go kill some bulls and random animals untill your at about 45 skill (with jewls equipped). Then just go do despise and kill ettins and lizardmen for the next 3 hours. You'll hit 70.1 easily. Then after that join factions, stat yourself, and pop an alacrity. Have a char with as much dci you can put on him, make sure he has parry and have him attack you. you should swing and miss but still gain the skill. log out real quick and you'll be at 120 in about 4 days.

    sounds like a pain.

0-30 - low level animals (Go to Jhelom farms and kill anything you see).
30-60 - Skeletons at Yew Graveyard
60-70 - Gamans at Homare Gate
70-90 - Ronins, revanent lions, or bone knights around Homare gate.
90-120 - Ronins at homare gate.

Pretty much can use this for any weapon skill.

Something I found to be very helpful once you hit ROT is just shoot a blue healer.

Always get a gain and the worthless guys wont res me anyways.
