There are 4 gates on Test Center. 2010 Spring Collection that you will probley be able to to buy this spring at UOGamecodes. Nowhere on that house teleporter set does it say how many times you can recharge it. To recharge it all you need is gate travle scrolls. So now you will no longer have to wait 12 years to get a set or buy one off a 12 year vet.

Why don't they just sell all vet rewards to everyone and take off the time requirement to use them, to H3LL with being a vet. Sorry if I am pi&&ed. I think this is the bigest crock of BS they have ever done.

If it take a gate scroll for each 5 trip, I find it ok, the 12 years still let you traveling for free.
The Pen of wisdom seem to copy runes from one runebook to an other.
The pigments have a few nice colors, one is pink :), 50 charges and will work like the ToT ones

I think that is for testing the new popup with them.

No the gate say "2010 Spring Collection"
I sure need a 2-3 set of them.
When you drop a gate scroll on them, you get 5 charges.

This will be nice for Siege, now we can make gate houses and make traveling easier. No player town will be to far away.

If they do this they should offer an exchange for everyone who got the set from veteran rewards with a new unique item.

Vet rewards are nice but I really don't like them to be to unique. 12 years are long time to wait.
Sure some had paid alot gold for a set or used a reward choice they could had used for something else but that's life.
I will still spare alot gatescrolls using the vet ones I have and I will still get a few more vet ones when my other account get the 12 years.

Woodworker's bench gives a nifty looking table that appears to give you a +5 carpentry buff that lasts for 30 minutes. Placed at a small house near Skara moongate on TC for those wanting to see it.

At the very least what they should do is make the new ones only work within the same house.... You should need the real Vet Reward ones to travel between two different houses. This would still make the new ones very handy, without destroying the value of the originals.

Can't you just use the house customization menu to put teleporters that go from one place in your house to another?

No, I don't think that's remotely necessary. A lot of gold has changed hands into the pockets of the vets that have sold theirs. I see no reason why any sort of compensation should be offered IF these are sold and they require charges.

This would make the new ones utterly useless, not handy. Only a classic style house would even need a teleporter that doesn't go to your other houses. So, the castle owners would use some, other than that, they'd be no more functional than the teleporters available to all customized houses.

Really if people want these they can use gold to buy them. What do people in Uo think gold is for? To look pretty? To buy regents at npc shops or those items they sell really?Wait 12 years and pay $2016 like the rest of the players or use the gold found in game to get them. It really aint that hard. I just spent 120mil on 2 sets totally worth it. Won't ever need to use a vet reward choice for them. Look how easy that was.

These are teleports that allow you to go from one HOUSE to another. So you can teleport between two houses even across facets.

Last month I used up my two vet picks and selected two of the house teleporter sets. If I had known would be able to buy them, I certainly would have chosen something else.

Regarding the new chargable teleporter sets:

The ones on TC will take a max of 200 scrolls which is 1000 charges.

And, I set one in a public house, made sure no one was friended or co-owned, set security to Owner Only and random strangers could still charge it.

Every time you go from one to the other it takes 1 charge from each, not one charge total.

Not everyone has 50-60 mil laying around for a set of the reward teleporters. And don't even bother with the argument that 50 mil is nothing to make in game, because not everyone has the time/ability to grind away farming gold for days on end just to afford them.

Teleporters like this are extremely useful and convenient, no reason for them to only be available to the people who have more gold than they know what to do with.

I hope the dev's don't listen to the nay-sayers and pull the plug on these before they go live like they did with the pet dyes. Personally, I think it's a great idea. The owners of the vet reward version get a set that works for free, the rest of us will happily pay for each trip we make.

Exactly! I don't have that kind of gold lying about... heck I'm too busy to farm gold like that...

    I like the idea.

I think most casual players don't either. Hell, I've been playing on and off since 2000, at my best I only ever had about 30 mil, and that was from selling a dreadmare someone gave me.

I did notice when i charged a pad from a pack of 50 , took 10 it gave me 50 charges and only used 1 tele scroll?

I did this on 6 pads to see and it was all the same..

Grab 10 teles from a pack of 50 dont drop them in your bag but drop on the pad you want to charge, it will only take 1..tele scroll

Can a random stranger still use it? If so I would say it was more likely someone would burn all your charges trying to be funny.

Overall I'd say selling them like this is pretty lame. It should have been sold as an account upgrade code that unlocked a tile in your house customization menu.... several different tiles.. like the current teleport tiles. The tile could have been linked to another tile on another upgraded account or to one of a pair of vet rewards. This would have allowed one vet reward to link to two different spring rewards... doubling their(vet reward) use, helping to retain their value and still requiring them for keeps and castles. Instead of chargeable they could have just cost 50k (non-refundable) to place.

If they really start selling the Veteran Rewards then, for all I am concerned, they can well just kill the whole Veteran Rewards program.

As I see it, Veteran Rewards are supposed to reward CUSTOMER LOYALTY to the brand/product but if one can just go buy them then, I think, the loyalty becomes a meaningless issue.

So I got to ask, and would really appreciate to have a response from an EA/Mythic Entertainment representative : customer LOYALTY to Ultima Online is still worth anything special or nothing particular any longer?

    Fantastic!

A chance that ALL UO players, even newbs, have a fair chance at using some items they might never ever be able to use in game (high end vet rewards)

AND a way for UO to be more profitable for EA at the same time? (If they DO sell for cash).

This is a win win situation!

I need to buy some teleporter tile sets, how many sets will I need for 10 houses?

    :)

I do think that they should allow high end vets to have differently colored vet rewards maybe? Like maybe sparkly or glacial colored teleporter tile sets?

Just as a reward for spending their cash on UO for so many many months.

This is what gold is used for. People don't have that kind of gold cause they believe they have no use for the gold and just need enough to pvp or whatever. But gold is in game for a reason and that is to get things that you normaly can't get. Getting gold is easy. You never need to farm for gold as that is the slowest way to do it. You need to get gold from other players not from the system. A casual player can spend some time in a champ spawn in ish and sell a drop to the other player for millions. Or he can just casually have a small collection of bods to get gold from or he can just casualy stroll the lands by things that are cheap rent a vender in luna for 20k a week and sell the item for profit. Gold is extremly easy to make only if they want to make it. If they don't want to make it then everything shouldn't be handed to him on a plate.

So being loyal to a product for some 12+ years without not even 1 month interruption now gets a color and that's it ?

If EA are going to start selling vet rewards I would rather we got free gametime for every full year our account is open.

Or make vet rewards, you know, unique.

I can understand making this item available as its VERY useful, Instead you could have sold the house teleporters for 20 dollars and had more Statuettes as a vet reward, It isn't useful but alot of people collect them. Theres plenty of monster statues we don't have.

I completely believe that items as super desirable and so hugely functional shouldn't have been made a veteran reward in the first place. It was really a bad move to make the house teleporters 12th year rewards. If a reward at all it should have been much more attainable than what resulted in an item so desirable they were selling for 80-100 million when they were first released. That's just stupid IMO.

Most don't care if they can't ride a polar bear until the 10th year or whatever. These teleporters shouldn't have been 12th year rewards.

I'm really disappointed with EA about this decision. I have never thought that any reward item, such as a veteran reward or heritage token award or anything, should get a duplicate for all to use easily (like when people ask for heritage token items like the fountain or broken furniture to be craftable - no!). It takes away the uniqueness and I'm sure a lot of the 12 year vets will be really disappointed by the fact that their special item isn't so special. It might not be the same exact thing and sure, you have to use charges, but who cares? It does the -same exact function-. They might as well change the 12 year reward to something else because now it's obsolete.

The people who spent their precious and limited 12 year veteran reward choices probably disagree with you. There are several enticing items and you only get 2 choices. It doesn't feel good when something you picked is now a common item.

Over 12 years it cost a minimum of $1,440 to keep the account open. This is a terrible way to treat such loyal customers who could have selected something else and spent $10 on this Spring 2010 Collection.

I'm not saying that they should get another veteran reward, I am saying anyone who has a set should have the option of turning them in for something else.

Well, isn't there a vet reward exchange for clothing items already? Maybe they should just expand it to allow for exchanging all vet rewards for an equivalent choice.

No, you can set security up like any door or secure - with access ranging from Anyone to Owner Only. You don't burn charges unless you actually go to your destination, so running over one without transporting doesn't burn a charge.

House Teleporters are great. I used my vet rewards to choose them and have all 5 of my house's linked together (10 sets). It's like living in one huge home. I think it would be great if they were made available for everyone, there are just not that many 12 year accounts around to allow everyone that would like a set to have one. As a 'Veteran Player' I would not feel that EA has slighted me by making it possible for others to have this uniquely useful reward. Perhaps, like the Soulstone, it should have been made a first year reward.

I also like the idea of allowing people to switch out veteran rewards for any year they are eligible. Example, if you chose a first year reward in year one, once you hit your second anniversary, it would be great if you could trade in your first year reward for a second year one. Just a thought.

Dang I started up my other closed account at 11 years to just get those so I could sell them to other players. I guess I'll close that account down again...at least I only paid the three month fee.

I will quite happily use my 12th year reward pick, when I get it, to choose the teleporter secure in the knowledge that I won't have to charge it and it will never wear out, necessitating my buying another.

What is the life span of these teleporters? Does anyone know? Are they like some of the other recent purchases, limited recharge capability? Will you have to buy another when it reaches 'saturation' like a bag of sending does?

    I do not understand.....

I mean, if an item is barely usable and of no practical value that hardly players might be interested in wanting it then yes, it can be a good candidate to a Veteran Reward.

But then, an item that has some usefullness (nothing ground breaking, people can STILL use recalls or Gate spells...) then no, it should not be a Veteran Reward ?

    Hallo ??

I mean, "if" the purpose of the Veteran Reward Program is to have a well assorted listing of unique items that can help reaching the goal of having the more active accounts, well, then the items in it, for each and every year of the Veteran Rewards listing, should be appealing enough to interest players in not closing their account even when they take a short break to accumulate account age to qualify for better rewards.

But if all there is to Veteran Rewards is rideables that only differ in the look or color well, I am not sure about others, but I would think that might not be enough for players to keep paying monthly fees when taking a short break. In such a case, one of the pros of the Veteran Rewards Program (helping maintain as many accounts active as possible) would fail and thus, to my opinion, make the whole usefullness of Veteran Rewards moot for the game.

I don't know..... only active months that the account has been up and running count towards the claimable Veteran Rewards.

So, depending on how long ago an account was closed, only lower rewards might be claimable.

The very very best rewards should be only claimable by accounts which, since september 1997, have not been closed not even 1 month.........

And, I think, they should also be a hell of good rewards (meaning not merely eye candy...) because, as I see it, to maintain an account opened and active for so long, without even 1 month interruption, is really a record of loyalty which deserves being well prized and cherished.......

Instead, oldest Veterans of the game get a slap in their face seeing their best reward (the teleporter tile set) offered as a purchase to all players regardless their account active age?

Hallo ? I can see how this must be very upsetting to the oldest loyal customers of the game who see their loyalty ending up this way........

Being someone who has been loyal on many accounts and having spent over 600+ million on house teleport tiles I welcome this change. They have to be charged anyways and I think everyone deserves a house teleport tile.

I still think they should have been a craftable by everyone when they first came out. What makes me so darn special to have house teleporter tiles over everyone else in the game? EA/Mythic doesn't have to give me stuff to be loyal to Ultima Online.

This reminds me of the comment made by a township leader on Chesapeake when Mesanna was discussing with us the community teleport hub idea.

"Just my opinion and I will probably get flamed ....but with the crystal portals there are no longer long walks to a bank or moongate. With the 12-yr vet reward there are teleporter tiles to connect anything you wish. Why have I paid for 12 years to earn this right to have the option of everyone being joined together? Just a question."

I feel sick when people want to exclude people from such wonderful things because they think they are entitled to something in game. And this was a discussion for the community towns to be connected to the hub. Now that its being built guess what community was soooo quick to say "YES WE WANT TO BE CONNECTED".

And hats off to those who were behind the 2010 Spring Collection

There are 3 schools of thought on this.
    1. Loyalty deserves a reward
    2. No one should have anything in game that others can't get
and 3. Option 1 applies until it's something they, personally, want, then option 2 applies.

I actually do NOT have any issues with these buy em from EA types of teleporter tile sets.

They are NOT the 12 yr vet. rewards. They will have to be recharged.
They do not even have the same marking on them. These newer house teleporter tiles must be BOUGHT. I got mine FREE. :) I do not have to recharge them. They are differently hued and differently marked thus mine are not the same as these *buy em* spring collection home teleporter tiles.

I claimed one set on my 12 yr. acct. That acct. still has 3 12 yr vet rewards TO claim. My QZ acct. is right behind and will soon have 4 12 yr vet rewards unclaimed to claim FOR FREE.

I dont HAVE TO BUY nothing !

And obviously my scribes will be selling more GATE scrolls to pony up every one's un 12 yr. purchases of house teleporter tiles to recharge their bought em style house teleporter sets.

um looks like a win win to me....mine are FREE, for being a 12 yr. vet. I can sell these to anyone of any ages yet too, if someone needs/wants em although their gp value may drop due with the new tiles intro, on all shards, they still need NO recharging ever. Gate scrolls while they do not cost that much, still will be gp maintainance all the time, to keep these bought and paid for spring type of new tiles recharged and working...while mine require NOTHING, thus they will be useful and require no charges ever, for forever.

I see them as 2 totally different types of house teleporter tiles.

Part of the *fun* of vet rewards is when these are first introduced, if we have the AGE on our accts. we get to be FIRST to be seen with these as others go into awe seeing us sport these vet rewards.

I can still remember the utter awe when younger players seen me on the very first ever introduced .......ethereal horse. :) oh ah oooh ahhh as I pranced about all *seniority* like with my then brand new to UO 3 yr. ethereal mount. Course anyone can buy those too off older players whether they can actually get to ride em or not till they come of age, useless as these may be they are each and all *status* symbols.

But that is fleeting and brief as players buy from others, these older vet rewards.

These new house teleporter tiles are *different* ! When folks walk across mine when I first put em down in my house, there was no confusion...OMG that is a 12 yr. vet ! :) Then folks sold theirs to non 12 yr old vets so by now, folks even way younger have em if they had the gp to buy em off older vets anyhow. The fleeting *status symbol* only lasts till they flood the market, to younger players anyhow..via US ! :) When I move stuff from house a to b, hitting the vet teleporter house tile over and over moving stuff from my homes ..no charges are needed. I can not imagine having to recharge with gate scrolls over and over to do that same thing with these newer tiles ....... like mine, for NOTHING no charges required.

Maybe our real *vet reward* is we had em all whatever vet reward it was new, FIRST ! :) After a few mos. in game these are everywhere anyhow for sale or trade etc. Their uniqueness is always waining after they end up all over the place.

I look at vet rewards as having em FREE & having em ahead of the rest, cuz we had the age to claim em in the first place. FIRST, like being the first one on the block to drive the first NEW car off the showroom floor till...every one has em all over the place anyhow later on.

Yall go BUY spring collection house teleporter tiles ... EA will probably make good money on them and folks will want to buy these cuz they will help link up players homes and towns. But, I dont have to BUY any of em nor recharge em...mine were FREE requiring no maintainance and I have even MORE of these to even claim YET ! :) FOR FREE !

I shall repeat myself, I see these as 2 very unalike types of house teleporter tiles. I have no issue with these they may be selling for spring collection cuz those are NOT the same nor function the same as the 12 yr. vet tiles.

I also have NO issue when EA creates some new 1 yr. vet reward gift that I about hate to waste my 12 yr. vet reward claim upon, but some times some thing new comes like the crystal portals, and I WILL blow a 12 yr. vet claim to get me one for FREE ! *And yet none of them are technically free* we are awarded a gift for being a loyal paying our monthly fees, as UO customer via vet rewards 'gifts'. I oft do not claim my vet rewards cuz it never fails they create some new wonder item even for 1 yr. vets that we also all WANT ! I like to hold of claiming any of my vet rewards to see what is new be it something cool WE never got for a 1 yr. vet reward like crystal portals or my 12 yr house teleporter tiles. :)

Uhm.. do you mean an exhange for the current owner of the teleporters... else all vets that sold these sets will get double items now :)

(Yes I have a pair that I bought at hefty price... my account is 11 years old but I couldnt wait :)

I think the teleporters are a very nice item and very usefull... I cant blame them for wanting everyone to have this item.. just sucks to be the buyer of an "old" set :)

Thing is, that 1 and 2 do not exclude each other since, coming the account age, eventually any and all accounts, therefore all players, can qualify for that given year Veteran Reward.......

So, Veteran Rewards are infact for any and all players, only, whenever their account reaches the proper age.

And rightfully so, IMHO, since they are, after all, "Veteran" Rewards for having kept the account as active over the years.

I am doubtfull about this since, I think, chances are that most players will just scribe their own Gate Scrolls.......

Sure, they are "technically" and perhaps graphically different but really, they are, at least to my opinion, pretty much the same thing in what they do.

The charges ? How annoying will it be to scribe and drop 200 Gate scrolls and be done with it for a good year of game play ?

I am sorry, but I do not see much of a difference other than very minor, technical ones.

The real problem, as I see it, is that the ability to buy pretty much something close to the Veteran Reward can create expectations in players that eventually any Veteran Reward, likely the most usefull ones, will be purchaseable regardless of one's account age.

Then, I wonder, why bother with maintaining an account open to build up account age when after a few months one will eventually be able to buy something close to that much wanted Veteran Reward ?

With the House Teleporter, I have heard from a few players and read posts of players mentioning their keeping an account open or even reactivating an account precisely to qualify for that given Reward.
That is, as I see it, the beneficial effect of the Veteran Reward Program, give to players good enough reasons to keep their accounts as open to build up account age when they would, otherwise, plan a short break leave from the game.

But if players can pretty much buy items similar or anyway close to the Veteran reward then the incentive and attractiveness of the Veteran Rewards would fade thus making an important and beneficial effect to the game of Veteran Rewards (help maintaining as many accounts active as possible) be lost.

So now is this what we will need to expect from each and every cool future Veteran Reward ?
That it will only be available for Veteran players for a short while but then, eventually, they will also be up for sale and if not them, something close or very similar to them ?

But then, why would players really want to keep their accounts active when planning a short break from the game to build up active account age when they know that eventually, after a short time, regardless from their account active age they will STILL be able to get those items, and if not precisely them at least some that are very close and similar ?

I think this just kills or diminishes much the attractiveness of the Veteran Reward Program to the point, that players might think it as moot and useless to keep their accounts as open when making a short break from the game, because after all, they will still be able to get pretty much those items or some other items still close and similar to them, by purchasing them when they get back to play and this, regardless to what their account age will be....

Well unfortunately, the vet rewards alone, are not keeping enough of EA's UO customers from leaving, when they wish or feel the need, to leave UO for good for whatever reasons they may have had.

I have seen a large loss of player base, on both Chesapeake and Siege, alike past yr. or two.

Obviously their vet rewards as some reason, to remain paying EA for Ultima Online for their aging accts. vet rewards has not been enough reasons to keep them playing Ultima Online to even collect some of their vet rewards, on either of these two shards. They left, a lot of them, perma like from UO. :(

This game needs so much more than even pixel crack vet rewards to keep folks paying to play Ultima Online. Various additions of holiday anniversary and buy it pixel crack has not done it, nor new expansions, new content when added, none of it has kept many of these customers whom have left in the past couple of years in larger masses of exoduses, than we have seen in years.

When any customers reasons for playing UO disappear, they leave, for good or maybe come back to try UO once more with some new expansion to see IF they may return again for good and if the new content or expansion does not live up to their expectations they exit for good. A vet reward even a 12 yr. one will not keep them paying unless they are happy with the game as it is with or without vet rewards. Vet rewards are a nice lil benefit SHOULD we decide we like UO enough to stick around...but if we do not enjoy UO any longer as customers we leave. The vet rewards alone, won't keep us paying EA for playing UO.

Game content, advertising UO promoting it as a unique albeit old online game, beyond spring pixel crack buy em items, people we enjoy playing UO with remaining with us, expansions we like, fixes in timely manner, customer service, solutions to cheating in game in UO, etc. either keep folks here paying EA, or entice them to leave UO, for good.

Empyting shards, any shards of UO's game vital customer populations on all shards, even with all the vet rewards we may get, or have in and of themselves as vet rewards, will not keep customers perma here paying to play UO. They may hang on a bit longer to get said vet rewards on their accts., but those vet rewards alone, will not KEEP them here playing UO with the rest of us if they no longer are satisfied with UO as an online game to keep paying to play.

I am missing a lot of players on both shards, their accumulative vet rewards, claimed and unclaimed on all these customers' old and 'newer' players alike, with their UO accts. has not kept any of them, from leaving UO perma like. :(

Read the post above his. They stated they wanted the new house teleporters to just work within the same house. And keep the vet ones to cross facet travel. So Beezle simply said, use the existing house teleporters to do your in house hopping around.

Are their really that many people who have multiple account ONLY for the vet rewards? I suspect not. More likely, they have multiple accounts due to the characters, and more likely, the houses.

The new house teleporter sets are more of a reward for people who have multiple accounts with multiple houses (and keep them open) rather than the idea that in another 7 years (in my case - having taken several breaks in game time already) they will be able to get teleporters.

Additionally, with the creation of more very useful vet rewards, at lower levels (which 12 year vets might also want), and 12 year vets with more than 2 houses, I do not see a problem with EZ providing a way for them to get the commodity deed box, crystal portals, etc, as well as getting some house teleporters to link their 4 grandfathered houses, houses on multiple accounts, etc.
