Armor Ignore broken?

    Armor ignore is supposed to ignore armor.. so whatever your damage is (plus modifiers) should be fairly consistant.. but vs some monsters, ive been noticing my AI damage is anywhere between 70 and 210... ? how is that possible? It should be more consistant?

    anyone else seeing this?

    Lots of things are broken... but the devs are busy creating new colors of goza mats. :pancakes:

    I have seen this for many years.

    While it's odd, and I do not recall the explanation I once heard (and indeed only dimly recall having had one at some point) it's not my impression that this is broken.

    I think what's happening is the 300% damage cap as influenced by slayer mods and other stuff like EoO? But I'm not sure. PvP is hard capped, I think, while PvM has more rope.

    Anyway, NPCs that use armor ignore have been messed up for awhile, or any special move. Often times you'll see a colossus--and hear it--do an armor ignore, to no effect.

    Well if I know that either delayed (FB / MA ) or instant dmg HIT spell weapons used to mess up the slayer property of a weapon. I thought they fixed this recently, but I haven't tested it. It could be what's happening.....

    In PvP, direct damage (armor ignore, critical hit, and a few other things I can't recall) are capped at 35. Only time I ever do less is if I'm in skill loss, or once in awhile I get 34 for no obvious reason because this is UO and weird things happen.

    With the PvM monster armor ignores and I take no damage I always assumed I was parrying it (JoAT Parry ftw) and/or the sound just means the monster is using the special move but the hit itself still misses. I notice that when a special attack is indicated with an on-screen message sometimes you get the message even though the attack appears to miss.

    Either way I for my part have a very hard time seeing the variable PvM damage from AI as an issue.

    But.. it.. *is* an issue.. ?

    Your base damage has a range... 56-63 as an example.. multiply that base damage by slayer, EoO.. thats about 150% damage.. so i dunno, 130-150 damage. normally that'd be modified by the targets armor, but in the case of AI, it bypasses that.. so a clean 130-150... not anywhere from 40 - 150. thats an issue. a bug. a glitch. Needs fixing.
