Does anyone know if it's worth having Arms Lore?

The last thing I remember is, that Arms Lore gave GM weapons a damage increase but now with imbuing, you would not need Arms Lore?

Why don't they make Arms Lore add to the intensity of looted weapons?

Also, it says that it gives a bonus to armour but with imbuing you can reach the caps and still play the role for that 6 resis. Does anyone know why I would want Arms Lore and if those are the only benefits.

The one reason I still have it on my crafter is this:

When I craft basic items for a suit to imbue later and I craft 6 items (head, gorget, arms, legs, torso and gloves). At 100 Arms lore I get 5 resist for every item, adding up to 30 additional resist over the suit. So I save 30 resists from the 350 total resists needed for a all 70s suit. If I had to imbue these resists, it would cost me 200 points of imbuing weight.

So in other words, with 100 Arms Lore I can imbue 2 more properties on a suit as if I hadn't had arms lore.

I still like the idea of getting better loot with arms lore.

perhaps allow arms lore to work like enhancing on loot, make the item exceptional and up the imbuing cap(to 500 vs 450).

with arms lore is possible to make armor all 70s with 1 resist imbued and 4 mods with all 6 pieces.

    without its not.

^ the above, arms lore adds enough resist, and if you do leather liked barbed also you can get a full 70's suit using only a few imbues, and the arms lore bonus doesnt eat an imbue slot, so you can have a full 70's suit with 4-5 mods per piece. The damage bonus on weapons is actually quite nice on siege too, so you can make a cheap sub-weapon without needing to imbue any DI. (on siege arms lore bonus is much higher when crafting)

  7. a short answer; yes, it's worth it.

I just tested imbuing. Maybe it's a bug or it's not working right but I was able to make the exact same imbued armour or weapon with or without Arms Lore.

The caps did not change and the weights did not change. The use of resources did not change. I did not see any change. Right now Arms Lore is on the Stone and i'm taking advantage of the extra space.

As far as I can tell the only time you would need Arms Lore is if you were dealing with runics and could not imbue.

If you guys are getting something different on this I would really like to know.

Barbed Leather Gloves, Physical Resis 17, Weight 105, with or without GM Arms Lore, that's what I get.

I wrote all of the resistances down but I didn't go as far to test anything other than the resistances. I just figured if the weight was the same, there really was no point in it.

Are they exceptional? they have to be exceptional for arms lore bonus. With gm arms lore you should be getting 5 extra resists per piece (8 on siege). if you pair your armor pieces well, you can get a few resists to 70 without imbue, leaving more imbue slots open. (each piece of armor has 5 slots to imbue, imbuing a reisist counts as one)

Arms lore is also not very useful under GM skill.

About 400 gloves made, barbed leather, 120 Tailor, high end tally, no Arms Lore.

Highest resistance 15. 2 gloves compatable.

    6 6 12 6 13.

    7 6 12 6 12.

One is good for all 70's suit and the other is good for an elven suit with 75 energy.

So, the most that I get are 2 resistances at 70 or more, so I would have to imbue 3 resistances leaving me with 2 more imbues. That's the same thing I was getting with Arms Lore but it seems without Arms Lore the resistances are lower and it might be that it would take longer to find the pieces that you need, although, in my testing, it seemed about the same.

if you did the same with arms lore, you can get pieces with at least three reists above 12, so you can piece a suit that's 70,70,70,50+,50+ BEFORE you imbue it at all, then you max imbue the low resists to whatever pieces can get the max benefit from them, and now you have a suit all 70's with, generally, only 2-3 pieces with any imbue slots used, and only a single slot generally. This lets you imbue 4 more properties on those pieces, and 5 more on all the other pieces, so you can pile on stuff like +hp, +stam, +mana, mana regen, stam regen on EACH piece of the suit (having to drop, say, the stam regen on the 2 or 3 pieces that you had to imbue a resist)

you can roll without arms lore if you don't care about getting 6+ extra imbue slots to put properties in though, it's easy enough to imbue the resists, but it does cost the extras you could have put on your suit.

Since you're probably on prodo too, and can dump millions into a suit, you could also make with normal leather and arms lore, and get 4-5 high level properties per suit piece, then barbed enhance to fill the 70's suit, giving you a bunch of suit pieces around 560-570 weight.

Awesome answer. Thank you very much for all the information, even extra on the enhancing with material.

All the suits that I've made, I was getting mostly 2 to 3 resistances added, per piece. So, most pieces had 2 mods and then some would have 3.

The Vampire used an extra spot for fire but I guess if I had tried harder I could of squeezed maybe 1 more but it was already my 3rd time doing the suit and I just figured that was good enough.

I'm running a fisherman/smith/tailor, so i'm trying to fit some type of fighting skill. I was using magery and a mage weapon and now i'm building mystic skills. So, I think, i'll probably throw Lore back on and do some more testing.

    Thanks again!

with barbed leather and gm arms lore you get 52 resists total.
there are 6 armor pieces, head, neck, arms, gloves, chest and legs.
    so 52x6=312
there are 5 resists.. phy, fire, cold, poison and energy..
    so 312/5=62.4

this means if you make the perfect armor where every resist stacks you can have
    62,62,62,63,63

for an all 70s suit you need
    70x5=350

so to make an all 70s suit with all 6 pieces you only need to imbue
    350-312=38 resists..

what i do is make pieces that have the lowest possible phy and or fire..
    so a piece like
    4,5,x,x,x id keep..

line up the x,x,x so those become 70s.

then imbue max phy on a couple pieces to make that 70 and fire on a couple to make that 70..

if you do it correct you get an all 70s suit with only 1 resist imbued, or 2 on a couple pieces if making for a sampire.

it does take a lot of planning.. i have bags and bags of left over 4,5,x,x,x pieces..

you cannot do this without gm arms lore..
