Cartel is disappointed to hear that SI is keeping most of a suit dropped by a M!S member last night.

Cartel returns items without questions and without delay, both to SI and to M!S.

Despite personal and guild animosities between guilds, often with a long history of competitiveness and prior mishaps, Cartel returns anyways. It is unfortunate that SI cannot get over their minor problems with M!S.

Do the right thing for Baja.

A return policy should be instituted for all of Baja's PvP guilds.

thats not the worst of it ...

si member Gino said, "let me kill you for factions points and i'll give you the suit back." it's funny cause to >ME< the only reason someone would suggest such a thing is because they could never acquire honest points based on their skill or lack thereof.

... after a friend allowed all his faction toons to be killed by said si member, the suit was not returned as they broke their word.

you know Sk, your stock goes up and down with me all the time but this is one of your up periods. thank you.

  3. Also the person's suit that dropped also has his stuff insured AND had enough gold to cover it.

Ka-tet will always return things that fall off.

Only things i do not return is the usual things that no one returns. Potions, bandies, and bolas. Since most have mules to make the consumables.

Why limit it to just PVP guilds? Am in several guilds (none of whom are known for PVP) yet we do champs in fel. I would always return any item, regardless of who I was fighting, and I think I can safely say so would the people I go with

(That's assuming we ever actually kill anyone of course)

It sounds like the person did have their items insured. Many people have had issues with items randomly losing insurance unfortunately.

I am currently in the process of getting the suit in my possession. Some members of M!S have my ICQ, all that was necessary to expedite the return of the suit was to inform me of the loss. To the person who lost the suit please pm me on the boards and I will assure it is returned.

I have always stayed and, or found a way to get it back to person..... i even returned a blessed orny on GL once... If you keep items... dont expect to get stuff back in return.

  18. Hello SuperKen,

    Agreed 100%.

This member is acting on his own behalf...not supported within SI for his actions.

Fortunately, he was able to come to his senses after being talked down by Ayassa & another person.

    My apologizes for this stupidity.

WTF has happened to UO? Back in the day, you took a guy's stuff, chopped his body up, res'd him long enough to hear him call your mother a bad name, re-killed him, laughed, then recalled to the bank to sell his stuff and lay his body parts out in the shape of an F and a U.

Now we've got Dawson's Creek style drama over somebody losing something one time. Sickening.

Ya, well I guess that proves that people are full of it when they talk about missing the good old days.

  22. I miss chopping up bodies and taking the red-head so to speak to the guards. They should put that feature back in.

UO and UO:T2A were "M" games under the ESRB rating system. So they changed things starting with Renaissance to get the game to fall under the "T" rating. Chopping up bodies was one of those things.

Presently there are minimal consequences for being red and negative behavior unlike the old days.

    # Bounty hunting

    * When someone is killed by another player, they may choose to report the crime if
o The victim is dishonorable or better notoriety
o The victim is not as bad a murderer as the person who killed them
o The victim is not currently flagged a criminal (two minutes since they committed a criminal act)
    * At death, a window will pop up giving the choice to report the crime or not. A player can choose to not report a killing if it was accidental, or if they feel it was especially well-roleplayed, or if it was part of a guild war, etc.
    * If a killer accumulates too many reports:
o All of their goods in the bank will be confiscated on the spot.
o The gold they may have had in the bank is added to the local bounty for their head.

o The killer's notoriety falls instantly to Dread Lord. (It is not "stuck" there--you can still rise if you can manage it).
o A bounty is posted on the closest bulletin board listing the killer's name, a physical description (hair color, hairstyle, skin color), a tally of kills, and the names of some of their victims.
    * Reports "age" out, but once a bounty is set on you, it remains even if you don't kill anyone else for a long time.
    * Every time you get reported after a bounty is set, your bank is cleaned out again, and a local bounty is reissued. This can result in the bounty price continuing to rise. Bounties are local, meaning that different cities may have different rewards and different kill tallies for a given outlaw.
    * The outlaw must be killed under the following circumstances:
o The person who kills him must be a player (of course)
o The person who kills him must have a lower tally of reported murders than the outlaw does.
o The person who kills him must be above neutral notoriety.
    * When the outlaw is killed under the above circumstances
o They lose 10% from all stats and skills on the spot, regardless of resurrection methods.
o A head labelled with their name is automatically placed in the backpack of the bounty hunter.
    * The head must be returned to a guard whose beat is near the bulletin board where the bounty is posted. Since bounties are local, returning the head to the wrong city won't work. You can also choose to return it to any of the cities where a bounty is posted, choosing the best based on the reward offered. Also, some cities may have multiple "precincts" if they have multiple bulletin boards; find a guard near the board that has the bounty posted.
    * Only the bounty hunter can turn in the head.
    * The bounty hunter must be of better than neutral notoriety when the head is turned in.
    * Fake heads won't work.
    * The gold posted for the local reward will be given to the bounty hunter by the guard.
    * Bounties may remain posted in other cities even though the reward has been claimed, but a given bounty can only be claimed once in the world, unless the killer returns to their ways. This will likely result in a killer who has bounties in multiple cities getting killed over and over again by eager reward claimants, for no gain. Our advice is, don't end up with lots of bounties on your head. :)

I'm not sure I knew you back in the "good old days" but even then there was some return on items. I shared a house and tower with Sir Richard. Often when Richard, Ron, Mag, and Garage Sale came home from a trip to the dungeons or where ever Angelica would be above Trinsic bank and return lost items. It depended on who lost them and what they had to say about it. DEATH and Morbius also at times would let me return items. Sin and El Nino also let me dispose of alot of items. I remember one time a citizen of Avalon lost a very nice crossbow to Ron. I arranged for the return but Ron told me at the time...I'm giving this to you to do what you like with... If the tables were turned that person would never return my item to me. And so it was alot in those days.

Funny story. It came time to name our first kid, a daughter. We had no names, so I'm just staring at her and the name ANGELICA pops into my head. I know some dirty old man probably picked it because it's some porn star's name or something, but that character was cool and the name was a little whimsical and goth. My wife has no clue our princess was named, in part, thanks to my time in UO. :)

I remember accompanying Morbius, back when he hung out at the Trinsic bank and somehow was the only guy who managed to find black plate armor that was all the same shade, on some trips to Hythloth to help some poor souls recover their corpses. Garage Sale I ran into a few times at the X roads. Dueled Sir Metallica, who was using a freaking prepatch bardiche, in Trinsic. I actually got a guy, Stretch, to play the game and he ended up joining freaking LoD. Met Ron at the Hard Rock along with MissAnn and a few others. Really pissed off some guy named Masterful when I NPK'd his alt and there was this huge melodrama over it for weeks. Used to try to help people recover their corpses from Lenny The Bruce in Shame.

Ya, I remember the old days. I never went red though, so I don't know if there was honor amongst thieves. I was mostly an enforcer NPK for the non-red guilds like TTW and ST and kind of floated between those two worlds. And I don't remember, during all that time, bumping into both sides, ever seeing or even hearing of anybody offering anything back to somebody who died. I don't doubt it happened, but if you consider what percentage of the time it happened compared to how often a corpse was picked clean and then thoroughly desecrated, I think you'd get my point.
