Whoever is Lord Bane's operations officer is brilliant. The bane attacked many towns in the beginning and the "good" citizens of Britannia rose up and fought against the invader. But the good citizens became tired of the drawn out series of small scale invasions. Everyone decided that "someone else will take care of it." Then, the Bane seized the village of Cove which was not much of a loss to anyone. I'm not even sure anyone noticed. (except me, I love to bank at Cove) However, once achieving that toehold, the Bane put their plan into action. They tried to capture Minoc but failed. So they tried again and won a huge victory. With Minoc securely under Bane's control, Vesper was the obvious next choice. They came at sunrise and quickly secured the sprawling water town of Vesper. With so many bridges channeling the avenues of attack, the Bane are easily repulsing the Meer, Ophidian, and Britannian attempts to recapture the strategic town. When Vesper is secured, Bane will control a huge portion of the map to include potential naval disruption of the major trade routes. I don't know if Bane has a navy, but if he does and Vesper falls..... As a soldier, I have been away from the fight too long. I must kill more Ophidians. I hate those snake creatures. I could never fight along side of one of them!
