best enhance to 140 luck?

Trying to make a perfect perfect luck suit with 100 lrc and decent resists. There are only 3 craftable pieces: arms, hands, legs. they each need 20 lrc (faery dust is the bane of my existance, lol) to go with the 40 lrc from AoF. This will result in a 1910 luck suit (w/o statue) with 100 lrc, near max phys/fire/cold resists, with energy and poison in the 50s.

Ive gotten the arms to enhance (140 luck, 20 lrc, 2 resists upgraded), but have broken 17 pieces. To enhance, I've been using the samarai plate mage armor pieces with a +60 ash.

My questions for you crafting gurus out there...

    1. is the success rate for enhancing better using metal or leather? (I know the gloves need to be leather, but the legs could be either)

    2. is my fail rate, one success for 18 tries, normal for this kind of enhance (100 --> 140 luck)?

I've read that the break rate is higher then what you have had so far. That said I'd rather go with leather for the free mage armor. Does your shard have any spined kits for sale? You could burn a couple and see if you get 20 lrc on a piece or decent resist/lmc/mana regen.

GL sounds like it shall be a nice suit.

I run out of imbue points before i need the 5th imbue slot, so metal is equiv for my purposes. Was thinking that the +60 ASH would give metal the edge over leather when enhancing...is this not the case?

I did burn some DC hammers tho, thanks for the idea. Gave me two 20-lrc leg pieces to break ;)

I've just done the same 3 pieces for my char, but I didn't worry so much about resists. I crafted the pieces in normal leather, keeping the ones with lowest physical resist. Then I imbued 100 luck. Next I enhanced with spined leather - which boosts the low physical resist and completes the luck requirement. Finally I imbued the lrc and some MR.
I went through a heck of a lot of mushrooms, but they're a lot easier to get than fairy dust. I can probably tweak a couple of the lower resists. Just not gotten around to that yet.

Thanks for the input. I didnt realize you could imbue after you enhanced, mushrooms are easy...time to stock up! :)

Wilde, i made that exact same suit by the looks of it. No word of a lie i managed to burn 260 Feary dust on JUST the suits sleeves. I honestly nearly gave in. Then one morning it actually Enchanted and it was like finding out id won the lottery. I jumped in the air, shouted YES! FINALLY!! and my missus gave me the nastiest look you can imagine.

its a pain in the backside to enchant if u ask me.

i did the same as Petra.

i made normal leather legs arms and gloves.
then i imbued them with 100 luck.
then i enhanced them with spined to get the 140 luck. (took a couple turns to get them each)
then i imbued again with 20 LRC and mana regen then added to the phy and fire resitances.

that was by far the easiest way to do it.
i did burn up a few PoF's doing it, but i didnt powder them all up to 255.
i usually just got them over 100 and then imbued/enhanced.

if memory serves me corectlly, my legs made it on the first go.
    arms took like 10 shots.
gloves where like the 3rd shot.

Doesn't Luck have diminishing returns at some point?

I currently run 1100 Luck without anything real special except maybe Jaana's Staff. I ran into a guy farming Miasma and he also had 1900 Luck, and I was like "Why so high?"....

    it dosnt.

diminishing returns only effects STR over 100 and the regen's (mana)

cant recall if there is anything else covered by it.

it seems like they where going hard and fast with it for like a week then they just abandoned it.

but no, there is no diminishing returns on luck, and there is no cap other then what you can get for items.

id expect that we will see a arty legs, arms and gloves here to match the rest of the items here in the future.
seem to get a piece a year.

    Definatly Leather pieces

Mage Armor is a property and therefore make them harder to imbue and more weight make enhancing harder also.

Thanks for all the input gang. I switched to leather armor with low phys property and didn't waste any faery dust because I imbued luck then attempted the enhance (boy, will that ever save mats in the future, I had no idea you could imbue after you enhanced). Took several hundred chagra mushrooms, but that was just mushroom picking and time. Most expensive part was the PoF, had to do a BoD turnin run to restock.

    Ended up with this suit:

    1910 luck (2460 w statue)
    100 lrc
    lmc 31
    mr 5
    mi 24
    hpr 4
    hpi 10
    dci 25
    169 mana, 111 hp
