Best for Doom: Sampire or Whammy

So I have all my important skills maxed out on my char, with 120 Swords/Bushido/Parry and 90 Tactics, and 65 Chiv. Im looking to take this character to doom, and I was wondering what the best investment in points would be, either in making a sampire or a whammy. With sampire I guess I would go 100 resist/100 Necro. With a whammy, what would be best, to go with 40 necro/120 spirit and put the rest into more chiv/tactics?

My main question is, which would you conisder being the most effective character in doom? The drawback, as I see them, of the sampire is that he would have to come out fairly often to get his swampie repaired, while the whammy would probably have a hard time keeping up karma while in doom, and so would have to come out to re-raise his karma. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Six in one, half dozen in the other.

Doom is a place where both whammy and sammy are effective.

The one piece of advice is to have resist on your template. It'll save you a lot of pain (even 80-90 resist helps a ton).

  3. Dragon Barding deeds can be insured, and anyone can use Arms Lore to check the condition of a dragon's armor with 0 skill.

Didn't know that, good piece of info to know. Now I have another question. How necessary is a demon slayer. My problem is I can't find one with even halfway decent mods.

  5. It's not absolutely necessary, but it does help. You can get away with using a standard Sampire Twink.

Ive often thought of that, Is 90ish resist really worth it though?

  9. Oh yeah, very much so. Do the math on the duration and amount of damage comparing no Resist to GM. It's a huge difference.

How much better is resist at GM compared to 90. Basically, I have 190 points to play with and can either go 90 tact/GM resist or GM Tact/90 resist and was wondering what you would recommend. Thanks.

GM tact. You get bonus damage for GM tactics. It isn't a lot, but its noticable.

  12. I'd say the same.
