Best template for tokuno champ??

    HI, im getting rather bored on my tamer now doing nothing in the dojo while my dragon minces everything!

    Im gona start a new toon for the perpose of doing the tokuno champ for a bit more fun :) whats the best template to go for and how to play it!? Im gona use an advanced char token to help me along but im not sure what to pick.

    Define best? A necro's wither is by far the fastest way to finish the first two levels of the spawn and get the most kills in. Or a swords fighter with blaze of death or any whirlwind weapon really. Once you get to level three I would say all templates have a lack of mass kill ability. I will let others add their opinion and the points of each type of playstyle and template is much to different in my opinion to pick a best =\

    Best template: Necro-weaver-mage (120 in mage/med/spellweaving/EI/SS/necro)
    Second: spellweaver/tamer (Essence of wind and gift of renewal = a lot of kills and easy healing)(120 in taming/lore/vet/mage/weaving/med)
    Third (but not so much this month): Archer (Archery/bushido/chivalry/tactics/heal/anatomy/another skill (typically resist, I have med))

    Honestly, if you are looking at just doing THIS ONE SPAWN, the best I can think of would be A Necro/Provo Tamer. 110 Taming/Lore, 90 Vet, 40 Necro 120 SS/Provo/Music.

    Or Sub out 90 vet for magery if you want some more versatility and dont mind not being able to res your pet. It is a VERY powerful template, although limited in most other instances.

    At this time, damage output doesn't really matter - there are enough players around that everything's gonna die sooner or later. What's really important is to deal damage to lots of different targets quickly.

    Even on Oceania (where there aren't that many people), the higher levels of the spawn are getting crushed when we get enough necromages in the area. All the spawn gets lured into the middle, then they all fire together and it just gets destroyed.

    My character Sha'etemmu was built specifically for the tok champ. As many templates as I've run at the champ, his is easily my favorite:

    120 med (+ from spellbook)
    120 ss (+10 from mark of travesty)
    110 tame (+5 birds of brit)
    115 lore (+5 birds of brit)
    110 vet
    115 mage (+ from spellbook)
    110 necro (+10 from mark of travesty)

    You want to run this one in wraith form, for constant withers. Have the greater guard you, run into spawn, invis, and let everything agro your greater. Thereafter, wither away. You find it easy to keep your greater alive, as you're killing things before they can do too much damage and you're close enough to vet. Also, since animate dead doesn't count toward control slots, by the time the champ is out, you can have an army of a greater and three skeletal dragons.

    As always, be sure your necro has 40 lmc, 3/6, and between 10-12 mr for constant withers. Also, if you can afford/fit it, 120-130 hp and some hpr will help. This guy is a TON of fun to play - I highly recommend it.

    This, basically. I use a necro-weaver-tamer with wraith form and essence of wind. It is ridiculously effective with a level 6 focus -- the trick is getting the focus...luckily I have enough room for SS on the template, so I switch to wither if I can't get a focus. But with a max-level focus, essence of wind > wither.

    Don't worry about being able to do damage to the champ. I have yet to see the champ last more than about 30 seconds during ToT -- you're lucky to get 4 or 5 hits on him.

    2/6 Casting you mean...is cap for Necro and Mage spells. Other than that, nice template. I run a necro/mage tamer as well albeit a slightly different setup. I recommend it as well. It's a hoot to play!

    You guys are all naming templates that do not have wrestle/anat/weap skill


    A hiryu is gunna eat you alive without it, its not hard, do wrestle necro mage or anat necro mage.

    How about ye ole mage weapons? You know: staff of magi, swords of prosperity, etc *gasp*

    I've used many a mage weapon template at champ spawns with no issues:coco:

    Might have to give the necro tamer template a run though:next:

    Because it is hard to build a ton of spell dmg increase into the mage weapon setup. I'm sure your mage weapon mage doesn't have 85 spell damage increase. Also, if you are using one of those listed mage weapons, you cannot chug cure pots, which can save your life, especially at the end.

    Have you been at the champ spawn recently? It is packed, and stuff is going down ridiculously quickly. If you are really worried about staying alive that much, you have a quick invis, or in the template i provided you can provo stuff away. There is no reason to have any defense at all right now at the champ.

    Getting a big ton of SDI at that champ is highly overrated. Your goal is to kill a LOT of small things fast with wither. Who cares about the damn books? Carry some Swords of Prosperity for the luck bonus. I rarely need to chug ever at that spawn and if you REALLY want to you can get a SC no neg mage weap for a couple mil if it doesn't have DCI.

    Wither spaming necro tamer is by far most affective for this spawn!

    level one and two just let dragon go nuts on its own and you go wither like mad at level three get the invis ready lure big mobs with dragon tanking them wither them dead quick same process with level four just smaller mobs or you will need to rez your pet often. One of my guild mates runs a character like this and it does very very well.

    I was thinking 2/6 was max for mage, 3/6 for necro, 4/6 for weaver. Is this not the case? And where do you find this info?

    I hate to give ppl unsound advice - thanks for the observation.

    Do whatcha want lol, im by no means a god of pvm, ahrdly ever do it, but i understand game mechanics. Myself and 2 other people ran this together for a few hours and had 3 mempo drops and a rediculous amount of other things, basically because those little creatures u are referring to can be 1 wither killed and move on to the next :thumbsup:

    rest from jewelry (possible Midnight bracers as well). Heck, an Alchemists Bauble and Midnight bracers would do the trick, and leave the ring open for other bonuses.

    I have a tamer/bard, a macer paladin smith, and a Melee T-Hunter, all with 790-806 skills.

    Whats the point of 115 magery on a Necro/Tamer hunting with a GD? You're not going to be EV'n, GD is bonded no need to gate unless you're on Siege?

    110 lore (115) +5 BOB
    110 vet (110)
    105 mage (115) +10 book
    95 necro(105) +10 mark

    115 mage is just for continence and because it fits. Easier to rez, first of all. Also, if I'm responding to help someone in Blood, Fan Dancer Dojo, etc., its easier to ride an ethy there and drop EVs than to run the whole way with a greater. If 115 didn't fit, I wouldn't mind dropping it to 100.

    I use a hybrid template, a summons mage (no Eval), Spellweave (always str2 at least focus), and med-high necro & SS, along with GM Hide and 90ish stealth. With this template I can cast 6 summons to maximize damage to the early spawn: 2 EV's, 1 Nature's Fury, and 3 animates. By dishing out damage "by proxy" I am seldom trageted and when I am I just invis and stealth away. I use the sorceror suit and the blue etoile jewel set, so my mana regen is slow (wraith form helps) but I still have decent resists running Protection. Last night I was pleasantly surprised to get the +3 INT dtective boots off the yamadon champ:)

    115 Magery
    106 Med (working roward 115)
    88 Spellweave
    76 Necro
    80 Spirit Speak
    100 Hide
    87 Stealth

    Luck : 625 with Swords equipped, 1100ish w/luck statue)

    Template works equally well in Dojo.
