Beware of UO Gamecodes.

  1. Bought a code and it's already used when i try to use it.
    And I tried to use it within 1 minute of recieving it.

    Do NOT spend any money there. It's either a scam or they have been hacked.

    Huh, I had an issue with the upgrade. I had to enter them on my wife's computer. For some reason it wouldn't work on mine.

    I would create a ticket with customer support over the phone or through http://support.ea.com. If there is no resolution with that forward me the ticket number and I'll see what the hang up is.

    Maybe someone made a type errow when adding his code, and typed yours with a mistake.
    Did you copy/paste the code or did you type it? Also be sure not to include space at the end of the code when you copy it.

    Did it specifically say it's already been used or did it say it was unavailable?

    With the work that's been done on the account server, there might be a lag between purchasing and when the code is recognized by the server. I've had this happen with buddy codes. I had to wait a bit then try again. Regardless of the message you got, I'd give it a try again just in case.

    Ive used uogamecodes alot and never had much problem with it except one time when I never recived the code but the money was drawn from my account. Only 2 dollars so I got over it.

    WOW... is this the first time you have ordered from there? If so... don't you think it's jumping the gun a bit to call them scammers? If not... then you obviously had a good experience previously or you would not be buying from them again. We all know that computers never have glitches that are not related to hacking or scamming.

    I upgraded 4 accounts to SA at once... on opening day... (think HUGE server issues)... without a hitch. A purchase of more than $100. That says something when EA's own website had more crashes than the Autobahn...

    Take a deep breath... I'm sure everyone can understand your frustration but a messed up purchase is something EVERY company has encountered... it in no way implies the company is unfit or otherwise shadey. Contact customer service... explain to them... I'm sure they will reissue the code. A $5.00 purchase for an in game accessory is no reason to go on stratics and tell everyone NOT to buy from the company that helps to support UO... now if after repeated attempts to correct the situation, where you are given continued canned responses... then you might come on here and ask for advice or alert the community that there is a problem... but wow... what a ridiculous conclusion for you to draw here and now... just wow.

    If I'm not mistaken, it's run by Mythic and not some slimy hackers.

    I've bought from them, oh, probably close to a hundred different times over the years and have never had a problem.

    Copy/paste is your best bet when inputting codes, and like someone earlier said, make sure you don't have a space before or after your code when pasted into the promo box, because that will prevent it from working.

    Also, I've made the mistake of trying to input the order number instead of the actual code (because the order number is at the top of the email you receive, and it looks long enough to be a code). Those don't work either. :)

    Good luck - I hope you can get it resolved through Customer Support. It's probably a glitch or error of some kind... I trust the site and highly doubt their security has been compromised.

    I would wait a bit and try again. If it still doesn't work then I would forward the email to a trusted friend/SO and have them try on their account. Copy/pasting directly into the redemption field is the best way to eliminate end user error.

    The exact same thing happened to me last friday, and I am still waiting for them to resolve the problem. I've sent in 3 emails to 3 different departments, hopefully the most recent one will end up providing the answer.

    I bought the code, went immediately to redeem it, and when I did the token didn't immediately appear. A little bit later, I had a message saying that the code had already been redeemed. I tried it on every character on my account with the same result.

  15. Never had an issue with them and I spend $100's a week there. Never an issue though.


    Also Uo game codes is a website owned and operated by EA.

    Make sure you were at the correct EA run website. There was someone spamming a very similar website at Luna the other night that I had to double check to verify that it was not EA doing its own Luna spamming (they were not, it was someone else).

    i have no insight as to the reliability of the spammed website, however when I upgraded my SA account, I had an issue hanging at one of the confirmation pages when upgrading. I e-mailed EA customer service, they e-mailed me back very quickly for some additional information, which I provided, and they fixed my account within an hour of my problem occurring, to include an e-mail back to me confirming that the problem was resolved.

    Going by his sig I guess he buys stuff, re-sells ingame for gold at a markup, then sells gold for money. I think it's probably a good way to make money actually, considering there are people who will not spend real life money to buy stuff if they can buy it ingame (like me) as well as people who like to buy gold with their own cash.

    You should not panic.

    Make sure you Never buy from ANY site that is spammed ingame, since as someone else mentioned there is a player owned site with a copycat name.

    If you are POSITIVE that you bought from UOGAMECODES.COM and not the other site that has a longer but similar name, then your next step would be to

    1. Check your emails junk folder for any codes that were Never received

    2. Call or email EA customer support and explain what happened and prove you made the purchase and they WILL fix it

    Life isn't perfect.

    I purchased 5 copys of Mondains Legacy from UOGAMECODES.COM and entered 4 of them with zero problems.

    The fifth one, however, came back with the already used message.

    I called EA and they fixed it.

    Do I know why the 5th code told me that it was already used? No. Maybe someone inside is stealing codes and selling them for cash.

    Point is you are freaking out for nothing if you used the official site owned by EA games.

    If you used the player run copycat site that is spammed ingame and advertised via dropped books, then panic away.

    I expect you probably used all the same info to make your purchase with them that you use to pay for your UO account.

    This means that the player run site owner now has all the info he/she needs to call up EA and take over your account.

    Real name, address, phone number, credit card (owner of UO account is the person who has paid the last 30 days) and email is all anyone needs to take your UO account.

    If you bought from the copycat site you probably have alot more to worry about than not getting a code.

    They had no idea what i was talking about, but said to email.
    So i have sent an email or two...

    And yes, i was rather upset when i wrote my first post.
    And yes, i may have overeacted in calling them scammers etc. in the heat of the moment, for wich i can only say i´m truly sorry.
    Mea culpa.

    Still. Others clearly have had the same issue.
    And not only the ones in this thread but 5-6 people who pm'd me as well and describing much the same issue...

    So fact of the matter is:
    UO Gamecodes are giving out bad codes on occasion.

    I find it rather disturbing that that can actually happen. And evidently does!

    It's not the money, (was only 5$) it's the principal of it.

    And to clarify, i followed the link from uo herald website to uogamecodes, i have bought from them in the past with no problems. And i did enter it correctly and was given the message that stated this code has already been used. I have tried the code multiple times after that in case it suddenly decided to work.

    In any case...
    I don't care if they fix it after i paid for it, trying to claim it in game within a minute of recieving the code, only to have to spend alot of time calling dubious support lines and emailing them waiting for replies that may never come.

    So in conclusion, for me, it's not worth the risk of buying codes from a store when i cant be sure the code i get is valid, and the only way to get a valid code is to call and email, that kind of defeats the purpose of buying them online in the first place.
    Perhaps if i sent a snail-mail with a 5$ bill inside that would have worked out better, or at least faster, but then again who knows if the code would have worked?

    Am i ranting much? you bet.

    Errmmm... just a thought but... some codes you have to apply via your paper doll/help, and others you have to apply to the account the uo.com "edit account".

    Make sure you know which is which!!!!

    The problem is with EAGamecodes, not the players. The game is telling us the codes have been redeemed, but EA Customer Service shows them as not being redeemed.

    This is not my first item code, I'm quite familiar with the procedure. They have a batch of malfunctioning codes, it isn't user error. Hopefully they will eventually fix this!
