FRIDAY,APRIL 15th, 2011...> Sosaria's Notorious Renegade Pirate "Cap'n Blackfoot" was spotted a short time ago burying treasure in some un-known location. So there is a call going out to all Sailors and Landlubbers alike, to man your ships for this , "The 2nd Annual" Blackfoot Blood Regatta" race. The Race will start at EXACTLY 9:00 PM. EST. All captains of their ships are to meet in Nu'jelm between 8:30 pm EST and 8:45 PM. EST. in order to register their ship and get the starting book and rules. This race is in Trammel and will take you to various spots in order to get clues as to where Blackfoot buried that "Booty" he robbed from both other Pirates and the Crown. Great prizes await the first 3 ships to make port and scurry the shoreline to claim the "dug-up" buried chest that hold all kinds of rewards.

Any questions can be sent to the Nidaros Mayor via ICq # 613919628 or contacted in game after 6:00 pm.

EXTRA NOTES: 1) There will be a PIRATE HUNT after the race for those that want to go after Pirates.

    2) Mark your calenders now and Make plans now for the 1st ever "DREAD PIRATE RACE" sponsored by Nidaros. A minimum 5 mil. gold purse to the 1st place team plus lots of extras. 2nd and 3rd place winners will also be awarded a handsom purse for placing. Planned for FRIDAY the 13th, (a lucky day), 2011. Watch for exciting follow-up details as the lucky day gets here. You wouldn't want to miss this race.

Any type of ship for the "Blackfoot Race" can be used and no crews are necessary, but would help to have at least 1 crew member to hop on shore at each stopping point to grab the next locations clue.

JUDGE from Nidaros and DARIUS from Arsylan will be your host for the Blackfoot race.

We hope for a good turnout. Please pass the word. These races are open to all shards and all waters of Sosaria. We look forward to seeing you all there.

  2. I just wanted to say that thank you to the ones that showed up for the race. It's fun no matter how many show up and the pirate hunts afterwards was enjoyable. But I did want to comment real quick in the matter that not as many showed up as I thought there would be. For anyone that has put on events before knows all to well that it takes alot of personal time and personal money/resourses to put an event on. Then when no-one shows up like expected, it almost takes the wind out of you. I don't give up that easy and I won't. But wish people would show for player run events. It makes it all that much more worth while. If just 12 showed up to something like this, it would be beyond exciting. just a quick reply. Hope to see more at the next player run ship race and others coming up...

  4. No worries my little friend, or anyone else. My spies inform me that Nidaros is notorious for holding ship races from its port of calls. Always someone after 'me precious booty. I was also told by my little scurrvy friend that there are other smaller and different style ship races planned, (one is in May- friday the 13th)lol, and 2 more big annual races planned for the year. So I'd be a'watch'in the sea boards for them and will be happy to try and run an interference as ye all sail to grab those buried chest o'l mine. I'd be more then happy to fire a cannon ball or two across ye bows. Ye be surpriz'in what prizes are with'in the holds of them there chest.

When I use to have trouble finding a day and time for best possible attendance I would make a poll. Perhaps setting up a Poll like

    Monday 6pm - 9pm
    Monday 9pm - 12am
    Tuesday 6pm - 9pm
    Tuesday 9pm - 12am
    Wednesday 6pm - 9pm
    Wednesday 9pm - 12am
    Thursday 6pm - 9pm
    Thursday 9pm - 12am
    Friday 6pm - 9pm
    Friday 9pm - 12am
    Saturday 6pm - 9pm
    Saturday 9pm - 12am
    Sunday 6pm - 9pm
    Sunday 9pm - 12am

Normally I do mass icqs for big events like that but I work every Friday 4pm - 12am so no big mass icq possible.

It's hard trying to pick a date a time and now I think it's simply best to just pick one and stick to it no matter what. Though you can try to avoid the regular events, I think there will always be something come up or some unexpected thing, so the best thing to do is press forward rather than not hold it at all (which is what seems to happen sometimes).

It's not like there won't be the opportunity to try again!

  7. Aye. That it is hav'in a difficult time with them there time tables you landlubbers like use'n. I want to do 'me best to accomadate all the ship lovers, but as the tides are flowing in different directions, it is hard for me to have more then one race during your so called week or to guess at what moon phase to have it. So me shipmates have mutiny'd and have chosen to keep Fridays as the race dates for the time being. I would like to see the one you call Lord Gareth out cutting the waves caps as some of us piratety types like to do, but according to his landlubbing logs, he is being held captive on the night of that full moon you call Fridays. Maybe someday my ship will have the pleasure of crossing his bows wake. Also I will not interfer with ye landlubbers events that you love to have. Even tho we pirates love to create a ruckus and drink your wines and firing cannon shot to watch everyone scurry about, lol. So tis fridays for the time being matie, unless we be inticed to do differently and our hands forced otherwise. So, until the next gleaming of the Sosarian Moon, I will be a'watch'n from the bow of me ship for changes in the tides. :)
