BOYCOTT ALL TREE FARMS!

I believe in selling fruit in the stores, but these ppl who have over 200 trees from the old TSO, just rubs me wrong....this is a new game now, EA-Land dont let these ppl who ruined the economy in the last game, do this. I have already seen fruit selling for $3,000.....maybe they can limit lots to just 8 trees. Within 3 months fruit could be over 10k....and this could finally put a end to the game. I know some farmers would be upset, but like I said...this is a new game, new rules.....are ya listening Devs? Please!!!

Seems crazy to me that people might be thinking of paying $3k or over for a single skill point, when they could be saving their simoleans and cashing them in for real life money.

i disagree,i have over a dozen Trees that i plan on selling the fruit for simoleans and then turn around and sell the simoleans BACK to EA for RL monies to in turn pay for my monthly subscriptions,,

seriously? 3k? thats insane. especially when most people are just skilling now since payouts suck so much!

I totally disagree. I think fruit farms are great for those that are prepared to spend the money to get quick skills, I can see nothing wrong with that.

I cannot see how fruit farms are going to ruin the economy either. Botters ruin the economy, not fruit farmers. Botters drain the money directly from the economy pool, which will overall lower payouts to players.

Fruit farmers income comes from sims who have earned their money, they are not draining the pool. Sims have a choice of whether or not they want to spend their money on fruit. Botters give us no choice whatsoever and this affects every single player.

No one is being forced to buy fruit, it is an individual choice. If fruit is being priced at $3000, that doesnt mean anyone will neccesarily buy it. There is plenty of fruit around at a much lower price. And if someone DOES choose to pay $3000 for a fruit , so what? its their choice. You cant dictate how people decide to spend their money.

Personally I cant understand spending say $500 on a fruit to get 1 skill point. How long does it take to earn $500? it must be quicker to just go and do the skill point in a skill house, than go and earn $500 to spend on getting a random skill point.

Sims with maxed skills that want to keep them that way are probably the most grateful for fruit farms. If you dont have sufficient locks, those maxed skill scan pretty soon diminish.

Really, fruit farms are no differnt from any other type of store, they supply a product people want and there is undoubtably a demand for it.

What worries me is why you are so vehemntly against fruit farms.

I agree with DGLita: Tree farmers have never harmed the economy - at least, not directly. Botters - and the people who utilize their "services" - are to blame for the messed-up economy. Full Stop.

Excuse me....if I remember correct, I NEVER said how people should spend their money....and I do believe in selling fruit....but over 200 trees? And soon you will be able to sell your sim money back to EA? You can be a farmer and not have that many trees...Someone is gonna make a killing in cash...so can you tell me just how someone bought 200 trees??? Sounds like a bot to me....ok I am off my soapbox now.

I agree and disagree at the same time. People who are selling fruit for 10, 20, 30, 40, even 50 trees, go for it. Get w/e ya want for them. But what drives me absolutely nuts is one special someone in every city of tso. That person has 250+ trees, and is in total control of the economy. We should not put that special someone in control. I think you know who that is...

i agree that fruit is especially great for people with maxed skills and not enuff locks. and i suppose at any price someone will buy it. just seems silly at the moment. and there is a big difference between running a lot with like 50 trees or one with 200. its like have one side of the board in monopoly while someone else has the other three. lol. but eh thats life right?

Trees did not ruin the economy. An exploit ruined it. The ppl who purchase the fruit will be buying simoleans from EA. Not getting it thru an exploit.

If someone spends 3k for a piece of fruit, they are stupid.

The fruit I have seen for sell has been 200-500.

200 is about right. That would be 25 fruit for 5 bux. That is the going rate. On all the rares you have to figure out the rl value, multiply that by 1k to get the price u r willing to pay in simoleans. We will always have players ready to take advantage of others. Just watch out for yourself.

  13. LOL no kidding !!! Aint no apple worth 3k to me either!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I may be wrong, but I know of many ppl selling trees for 50 USD. How is that a bot?

Also there are many who have multiple accounts, who 'may' have got them legitimately, after paying out heaps in monthly fees over the years to acquire them.

Therefore, I would assume that they have spent a stack of real life cash to purchase these trees and now they would just be trying to get their money back on their 'investment'

As you would be aware, this lot with 200 trees; there are sister lots, with gawd only knows how many other trees.. You do the math and then tell them that they can't get a return on their investment..

Isn't that the whole idea of the cash-out?

some may have done that but at one time i had over 100 trees,as i have MANY accounts, and i bought a few {trees} with simoleans i had EARNED and had at least a dozen given to me by friends leaving the game,,it is very easy to accumulate trees legitimately,,and then i sold a bunch for RL monies,so others that now have that many was probably a customer of mine or others i know that did the same thing,,and for those of us that have many trees IF they {Maxis/EA/Jolly Green Giant-whoever is making rules and running this game} set Tree limits per lot ,i would just open however many lots it took to get all my trees set out,,so see "Limits on Trees per lot" will do nothing to stop the "illusion" there seems to be about ill-gotten Trees that you are implying

You were particulary upset about fruit being sold for $3k, Ive only once been to the big fruit farm you are no doubt talking about, and fruit there costs $500 each I beleive. If fruit is being sold for $3k there then its probably for 6 or 8 trees worth

That guy didnt just turn up with 200 plus trees, he has spent real money to get them. I believe I sold him some a couple years back, and he was paying pretty good money for them too. If he was prepared to take that risk of investing a decent amount of real money in them then, why shouldnt he benefit from that now?

Im concerned that you are so worried about it, how does it it affect you what he does?

i didnt see where anyone said they were illgotten trees. i just think he's frustrated that some people can hold the monopoly on trees and he doesnt know how they got them.

  18. I have 15 trees that were all account gifts but i'm not selling the fruit. I'll give it away 1st! And to think they discontinued Casino's becausee it was found to be illegal. I don't see a whole lot of difference with buying and selling of the simoleans!!!! That is a far cry from playing the game. I'll just keep painting for 51$ a paint or jam and continue to help other sims out if i'm able too!

Thank You Angel, and you are right, even if EA would limit the trees to 8 per lot, there would be tons of smaller lots popping up. I guess there isn't anyway around it. The tree was awesome gift, and it's to bad its used the way its used.

  22. Asking players to boycott tree farms is no different than asking everyone to only make money in the job tracks. Because bots are used to make simoleans, all the gamers are punished with lower payouts. The tree farms make a ton of money off of botters. You don't think botters want to spend all that time skilling up sims do you? When accounts get banned, they have to get new accounts. That means more new sims to skill.

It matters not where the trees came from or how anyone attained theirs. Everyone wants to sell their fruit. And I guarantee, your number one customers will be botters.

i am sorry hun i dont understand,,the fruit IS being used as it was intended,,to raise skill,,,we all have our own goals and "dreams" within this game,,if mine is to max skills as quickly as possible to craft objects to GIVE to friends and anothers is to sell fruit to me to HELP me reach my goals, its a win-win,,if i choose to buy money from EA to purchase more fruit to keep my unlockable skills up then that is my choice,my game,,i do hear where you are coming from, but i do not wish to play MY game in the vision as you see YOUR game

Pay for a FRUIT? Never have never will. I have been around since b 4 the beginning and I have 6 3 and 1 tree/s. Tons of skill locks, some unused just cuz skilling is so boring and everyone is in E A Land so skilling in regular cities is worse than ever. So when my skill locks are used any fruit that gets ripe gets eaten by the first person who has an unused skill lock for it. For nothing in my pocket. If I get lied to and thier skill decays....Its not me looking for a hand out of fruit, buying one or skilling my brain numb. (Tho I have done my share of that)
Wanna waste all your hard earned (VERY HARD earned) cash on fruit? Buy your sim money for real money? Sell your sim money to a game company that is fighting to keep thier heads above water possibly? Be my guest. I will not sell my fruit, my sim money or buy sim money.
Bots are the main problem I agree (Can't say I ever saw one tho) and one would think there is something that can be done about them but I do not know squat about that stuff and sometimes wonder.

if it was PRE-EA selling simoleans i would totally agree with you Gracie,,but with ATMs now in game { i have no idea how often they are actually working} the Top buyers may not in fact have anything to do with botting

  31. Disregard how a tree farmer obtained the trees. It doesn't really matter.

Trees produce fruit, and fruit is a product that some players will pay for. That makes it no different than custom content. Anyone who can produce a product that they can sell to others has done well.

Of course, for a tree farmer to make money there have to be players willing to spend money. Fair enough.

I got mixed feelings on tree farms skilling is boring yes and in days of old when money homes were makeing big payouts hopping over to a tree farm wasnt a problem to me. but we are in dark times now price of fruit is insane takes days just to make 1k let alone 3k. if fruit were being sold for like maybe 7 hundred bucks or somewhere around that price range, ide be ok with tree farms. the tree farmers should simply match players level of wealth, they can always raise the cost as payouts increases. or if thier going to keep the price add a cool looking cc pic chair sclupture to block the tree that way those rich enough to buy the fruit will get something cool to take home besides just 1 skill point.just a thought lol. This is the kind of person we NEEEEED TO BOYCOT. If you give money to a person like this, you better just give away the control of the economy. mmm and that special someone sells for r/l cash as well...

well the economy goes that way:
someone is buying simoleans from ea to buy fruits in game for example 998 Simoleans = 1 US$
the guy who owns the trees will sell back the same money to ea again for example 975 Simoleans = 1 US$

this ammounts are only an example i dont know how much ea will pay for simoleans.

the money is coming into the game and its also leaving the game again. thats the only way to keep the economy going

if you create custom contents its the same. for uploading your customs you have to pay ea then you get your money back if you sell your custom content

    same with crafting

sick and tired of everyone blaming everything on trees... its not the trees its the players.... they chose to go at the exploit and for a very long time had nothin to do with the trees the prices rose as the money rose and if your a buisness man and everythings going up so should the prices of fruit and trees.... trees and fruit are nothin more then an item to be sold and used in ea. Seen this post from Luc....

"This does not mean that the payout for the skill objects will continue to decrease. They are very low at the moment because of the war against the bots. I believe our latest weapon will be in place this week, and if that is the case, I will be able to raise the payouts again."

We are at war with the Bots....damn I feel like I am in a Terminator movie!
