  1. Posted this same topic a while ago and seemed to get some good response and some good negative response , I am currently considering coming back to UO and really miss this play style , does anyone else?

    In Fel, if they want to, sure. Outside of Fel... no.

    Edit: Heh, two years later and I still have the same answer as last time, which will be the same answer as next time.

    Maybe I should just go bring out Trigger's corpse. It appears some people enjoy beating a dead horse.

    Well I miss it. However most of today's players never played a actual town thief, which was the most challenging when the towns were crowded. Even today's PvP thieves don't come close as far as the tactics and skills that a town thief had to muster.


    If I remember right a few months ago the Devs mentioned thieves would get some love. I hope so, but where either it be Fel or Tram rule set there should be some risk vs reward.

    My view as far as risk vs reward as far as thieving is this. Tram stealables (depending on the type of item) should be guarded by either traps or some kind of guardian.

    As for Fel rule set I would like to see desirable items in towns with the same rules as above, but turn the thief Gray for 5 minutes or another color and if the thief is killed, the attacker receives double the insurance and maybe some kind of ticket for a turn in for a random reward.

    I would like to see this (even tho most real thieves seem to scoff at this idea):
    Random loot, very infrequently spawning on random npcs somewhere in the world.
    This Item could be anything from junk loot (usally) all the way up to high-end artifacts (very rarely).

    What about using the current war/loyalty system and make it part of that system (in a PvM setting in this case).

    Steal a certain Widget from one side, give to the other for loyalty points, etc.

    Basically a sort of "fetch quest" requiring the Stealing skill.
