After the last patch I have had to go back and rename all my BOD books. So when the rest of the shards are published check this new feature out. All my books were named "1_val".

    Oh Gawd. This blows.

On Vendors too? I have about 100-150 bod books. I don't want to try to remember how they are all sorted.

    QA devs!!!!!!

Stop rushing big publishes like this out just to meet the halloween deadline.

Here we go again - 100 bugs shoved down our throat so some house deco'ers can have pumpkins for halloween. Great.

BOD Books losing their names is not (IMHO) a show stopper... If they were suddenly FREE on vendors, MISSING, or the BODs were gone, those would be show stoppers... text label is not much to worry about.

I don't get how exploiting vendors to store bods there freely without using any secures isn't fixed yet either but you don't hear them complaining about that :)

That's funny. I see a bunch of people complaining about that bug/exploit. Along with other bugs/exploits that get overlooked in their mad dash to appease the pixel crack crew while just shrugging off any bugs and such.

Except for the fact that it isn't an exploit, as it has been perfectly legal for years.

Yeah, I could care less about that one way or another. You can count the number of vendors I have on one hand. You can even subtract five from that hand and still equal the number of vendors I have.

My point was that people do in fact complain about it. Which the previous poster claimed wasn't happening.

OMG! This post was supposed to warn people that they were going to have to rename all their bod books because of something that happened in publish 56. While it is not a show stopper bug it will be tedious for someone with multiple books legal or not.

It is a bug nonetheless, and some of you say that it is unimportant. True, it is only a tedium to the crafters. But it IS a bug, that could have been found earlier with an earlier publish to TC.

Do not blame the messenger for bringing up bugs with an upcoming publish. These are the sorts of things that TEST Center publishes were meant to find. It is not the poster's fault that he is reporting a bug.

This patch should have been uploaded to TC sooner in order that such bugs could be fixed.

Agreed, it's a bug, if it happens to more than just the single person who reported it... (ie it wasn't somehow a freak mistake on his/her part)...

My point was we had this patch up on TC for over a week and it's a large publish including many bug fixes and much new content, though I can't remember any of it directly relating to BoD books in the Patch Notes. If this bug is there, I'm sure they'll squash it, but you can't attack QA and TC in broad strokes as is being done on other threads because there is a bug in computer code, you'd never publish ANYTHING...

It would appear that all the invasion stuff is working as designed, as is all the Halloween content, new stackables and so on that are all listed in the patch notes. I've been reading many threads from testing and haven't seen any saying stuff isn't working, other than some not really understanding all the dynamics involved aparently.

Anyway, they say they're ready to publish so lets have it, we can grade them after we see the results... but I won't be very harsh about this one if it is a new bug....

No one is saying to leave it on Origin for a year. We are just saying that a day and a half to test a publish as large and involved as this one is a bad idea. You must not remember the storm of trouble that the very last publish brought into play. And this publish is even bigger.

And no one is expecting any patch to be 100% bug free. But, when bugs ARE found on both TC and Origin, at least the dev team should acknowledge them. A simple post saying "Yes, we know these are bug and we fixed them before deciding to move it live" would be perfect. Or even a simple "Yes, we know there are a few minor bugs. But we will address those as we get time so that we can release this publish in time for the holiday".

But what did we get? "We want this publish to be on Origin for a while so that it can be thoroughly tested." Followed very quickly by "We are moving this live with very little testing done on Origin".

As others have said, why even use Origin if you are just going to ignore the bugs found there and move things live anyway? Speed up the process and take it out of the mix altogether. Then all those people that are all yay yay yay about rushing this thing live will be able to whine much sooner about the major bug that happened to them (remember the guardzone issue all those years ago with P55?) and messed up the game for them badly.

  13. Storing Bod books on vendors is not, and never has been, an exploit of any kind, and is listed in the knowledge base as being completely legal.

To the topic of the post, I've checked all of my Bod books prior to server down and everything seemed fine. This is of course after the patch we had the other day. I'll check them again at server up and see if anything has changed.

I just checked all of mine on LS, and all still have the same names they had last week. Mine are all in secures in a house, if that matters.

  15. I just checked my books too and they're all just as they always have been.

Prob is only the vendor bod books thats affected. But even then big friggin deal. So you need to click book once and rename it. Like thats hard.

I do think that putting books on vendors to save space and not to sell should Not be allowed.

OK THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE TO LIVE WITH!

I changed the names on my BOD books yesterday before logging off. When I logged on this morning the books lost their names again at server up I expect. Please Devs fix this.

  19. All of my Bod books are on vendors and not a single one had the name changed.

As far as storing Bods on vendors, that's been allowed as long as Bod books have been around. That's the way it should be and that's the way it should stay. Too much storage would be taken up from just a single character being a smith. It's easily possible to use up 1/2-3/4 of a house's available storage on nothing but Bods.

So for the people whose book names are being lost, are the books on vendors? Is there a price on the individual book or is it just stored? Are there prices on the BODs? Is the BOD book Locked Down on the floor or in a back pack?

It seems weird that some people are saying their books in secures are fine and some are saying their books on vendors are fine...

What's special about the books that are losing their names?

These books are on my vendors with the bods priced for sale. they are not locked down on the floor. all books were named "1_val" after publish 56. I renamed them yesterday and the name changed back to "1_val again when logging on today.

I got courious and checked a friends bod vendors. he stores his bods without prices and those book retained there names.

Wow! Well, we actually fixed this before going live worldwide, and it should've retroactively fixed issues on Origin with the Bod Books.

The live worldwide patch list apparently wasn't updated with the many things brought to our attention and fixed thanks to you guys.

Is anyone encountering problems with the bod book naming as of the worldwide publish?

Not entirely sure what it is you're looking for, but my books, which are kept in secures, maintained their names. I just made up some new empty books for my vendor and tested naming and renaming one, and everything worked precisely as I would expect it to.

Book names disappeared from my bod books on vendors as of publish 56( is this the worldwide publish you speak of?) I am currently renaming these books as I write this. If it is fixed I will know after I log on tomorrow.
