OK... so doing alot of data collection & figured it might be easier to ask for a DEV's input....
Can someone give some more specific information on the various Reforging weights that the different runics have & how the system works? I'm aware of these charts ...

[Imbuing] - Reforging. How to | Stratics Forums

But... they don't really EXPLAIN much. Just a list of what's possible really.

    Anyway.. SPECIFICS !!! pretty pls!

Trying to separate resists granted from runics from those of exceptional craftsmanship is a pita when runics override the other heh...

Are you telling me that the information that was provided on player ran websites was not enough? You really don't expect the team to divert from recyc/er/making heritage tokens for extra ladders just to provide information about a ingame device they gave us, do you?

Runics on test have 30k uses
I understand many people completely forget TC1 is even there. It's a fantastic resource. I'll use it to place a house with soulforge and any add ons that are needed. I've learned a bit about the aspects of the game I resisted on prodo shards. Reforging is one of those things.
    Hop on TC1
    It's wide open............

LoL Picus... Assuming that was truely *sarcasm* Um yea I'd actually like to know how a major in game system works from the horses mouth....

@ Felonious..... Your again assuming I didn't already spend time on TC1. I actually just spent 3 hours there this morning. The only problem with that is the "RULES" to the Reforging system I was coming up with were fairly rediculous.... & I really hope the system isn't as confused as my results seemed to show...

For example.. I was trying Dull copper through Copper Runic Reforges on weapons (Weapons bc resists get hard to calc. when exceptional armor is made) The rules I was coming up with...

    1) Was the item property available on that item type before shame loot ???

    2) If it was then take the "Pre Shame loot Cap" and figured your percentage. Ex. 5 HCI out of 15 HCI for weapons Pre Shame loot. But here's the kicker... Round UP ... so if you had 30 Reforge Weight points left 0.3 x 15 = 4.5 Round UP to 5 HCI.

    3) If the item property was NOT available until "POST shame loot.... Then you take the new intensity cap for that property... lets say 9 for say Hit point regen on a weapon... but in this case if you have say 40% of your Runic Reforge Weight left after it picks the 1st property that remaining 40% rolls the hit point Regen property then you get 0.4 X 9 = 3.6 Hit point regen which since this property is POST shame loot gets rounded down....

    4) Runic Weights available..... Dull copper with 1 property = 60 points.... Add 40 points for each additional property. Each level of hammer up adds 40 points to the base... So

    1 property
    Dull Copper = 60 points
    Shadow = 100 points
    Copper = 140 points

    etc

From there add 40 all the way up for the higher hammers & increase that base amount 40 points also per extra property

So a Bronze that rolls 3 properties is 260 points etc..

[General] - Reforging Question... Runic Weights? | Stratics Forums

Semmerset posted a good chart of the Runic Weights.. though I'm still working on property weights bc I'm not sure I agree with him about them.. What I was posting above seemed to hold true for over 150 different weapon so far.. though I probably explained it Badly...

Ya, you busted me on that point.
Your post on your findings on test help me as well. I'm only just now starting to experiment with those tools as well.
    Nice work

Well we can hope that when UO.com is raised from the dead it might show some of the data feed used to make these things. Heck if they just showed some slight information we could at least hazzard a guess but I know that I have burnt every charge of barbed kits I have been able to find on Napa with such random results it's shocking. Some items are 450 total weight(imbuing) and others seem to be 600+....odd.

I started make med mage lrc suits and figured the choices of wizardry or sorcery of defense gave what I wanted.
I was getting single pieces with over 80 resist per and I was stoked. Pieces with weights over 700 per.
Again I was stoked. When I donned the first suit with the lrc I wanted I noticed all told I had 38 out of 70 cold resist and my jaw dropped.
Thinking it was a fluke I made more suits and all did the same thing.
How is it all the pieces can have 70 or more resists per piece and whole suit has half of what Im aiming for in one elemental resist
while burning 10 barbed runic charges per piece? That's harsh.
After using hundreds of runic charges I started thinking what would I have to do on a prodo shard to get the results I want?
I really hope that its not a combo of reforge imbue enhance.
I don't want the best suit in the world and I'm thinking imbuing alone might be a better way for my game style.
I'm a casual player and still learning reforging.
The game is becoming too convoluted for my casual style.
That's not a complaint its an admission.

I've been trying to understand the reforging process as well. The 'budget' is always mentioned but nothing about how this budget is formulated for the different levels of runic tools or how much of a budget each property consumes. Semmerset on the crafting forum is incredibly knowledgeable on the subject, but the language barrier makes it hard to understand (her/his?) explanation.

Felonious, I think you are going about the process of getting the resists you want wrong. You can't choose pieces based on the total resists or property weight on an individual piece. Six pieces of armor with even a hundred total resists can't give the 70 cold resist if each piece only has 5 cold on it. From your post it looks like you were relying on the of defense imbuing choice to get the resists you need. If that's the case, you are right saying it will take a ton of runic kits (just like it did pre-imbuing and reforging)

This is exactly how it's done now. Choose your base pieces by dividing the target resist goal by the number of items you are going to imbue. Be sure to take in account the resists the different materials will add when enhanced with them. Careful planning will keep you from wasting imbuing slots on resists. The majority of the suits we build will only need one or two imbuing slots used on resist. Although, some suits will need a resist higher than the imbuing/enhancing cap allows, in which case you'll need to use the of defense option to reach your intended resist until you get lucky and it hits the specific resist you need.

Thanks for the reply. I do understand your points and suspected as much which is why I followed up with the last two lines in the post you quoted.
    I appreciate your help.
    Ciao......
