With the "run mouse in seperat thread" issue be corrected. In other words, is it an issues with game mechanics OR do I need to uninstall and reinstall UO? If I have missed this somewhere else, I apologize but it's really getting on my nerves having to restart UO every time I log in because that one setting will not save.

    Thanks!

Xenobia, I noticed it on a few characters while logging in to claim holiday tickets, but not nearly as much as I've noticed it sometimes in the past. I have not seen anyone from the dev team mention this particular issue and whether or not it will be addressed.

I'm curious....what method do you generally use to quit the game, i.e., do you use the "Log Out" button on the paperdoll or do you just click the X in the upper right hand corner? I almost always use the "Log Out" button but I wonder if logging out by using the X in the corner causes some settings to not be saved.

Hiya Tina, I always use the "Log Out" button and never the X. This has been going on for quite some time and it's very frustrating. I wish the dev team would see this and tell me if I simply need to reload the game or if it is something on their end.
    Thanks for the response!
EDIT: It happens every time I start UO without fail. I have to go set it, log out, restart the game and log back in. So annoying ugh

Yeah, it's very frustrating. After I made my post, I logged off the char I was on using the X in the upper right corner. Restarted UO and logged her in again and the mouse thread option was checked. However, when I switched to a character on a different account that I KNOW has had that box checked, it was all of a sudden unchecked. It's very strange and I have yet to figure out what seems to consistently trigger that box not being checked. Logging in for holiday tickets, all would be fine until I'd hit one particular shard and it would not be checked. Same account, just a different shard.

I guess I should just be glad that most of the time the box stays checked. But it's sure annoying to log on and realize the mouse/cursor are acting wonky and then check and find out that yes, indeed, that little box has unchecked itself and you have to log out and back in again to fix it.

Yes it is very annoying but I think you just answered my question for me. I will not be reloading UO as it seems that it isn't just me having the issue. I'll try and send a bug report? I'm not sure if that is the correct forum for this issue. I'll figure out some way to get the info to them.
    Thanks again, Tina!

Some settings, once turned on, are extremely hard to turn back off. The only way I've found to do it is to go through every character's uo.cfg file, and the main one in the uo folder, and turn the offending option to 'off' manually. If you miss one, and log that character on, the setting will be over written again and all characters logged on thereafter will revert.

ohhhhhhh I will give that a try. Thanks! I need to turn this setting on permanently before it drives me bonkers. I did try the main uo.cfg file but not the separate char files. I will post if it is successful or not.

Ok I tried changing it in all the uo.cfg files and logged in...didn't work. My mouse was hopping all over the place *sigh*
Maybe I will try and reinstall UO just to see if it will help.
Thanks for the idea but it was a no go. :(
